Draymond's absence hit the Warriors defense pretty bad, but Lebron and Kyrie still hit some hard shots last night. Got to give props for them. They have the fancy honor of being the only teammates to both score 40 in a Finals game.
I'll be rooting for the Cavs in Game 6 so my prediction of Warriors in 7 comes true

Honestly, I think the GSW lost their juice and this thing is over. The Cavs finally get their damn championship. Curry has been mediocre, Harrison Barnes has been literally useless (and this guy wants to get paid more than Draymond Green's 18 mill a year LMAO!) Thompsons been of a bit off, Iggy is banged up and Bogut is hurt for the 1,223,421th time. Meanwhile Kyrie is getting hot and Lebron is absolutely fired up and going absolute bonkers, like I though he eventually would. Unless Steve Kerr gives GSW the most motivational uplifting speech, and GSW shows up to play, the Cavs should have this in the bag. Draymond Green's love of punching/kicking nutsacks has cost the Warriors the 'chip. Literally when he got suspended, Lebron and Kyrie went off and they haven't stopped. The Cavs and co are in the Warriors heads. It be a pleasant surprise if the GSW won (I hate Lebron lol), but I wont hold my breath. Cavs by 10 tonight.

If the Warriors win tonight, I'd have hit the nail on the head this series. Cleveland got punched in the mouth(went down 3-1) and recovered to force Game 7.
I think with the injury situation these teams are about evenly matched now, so the Cavs don't have to 'overperform' to win. Last game the pressure was on the Cavs and they got a convincing victory. It's time for the Warriors to do the same under pressure. I'm hoping for all the stars to play well and the score to be in the 110s. I really don't think this Warriors team is capable of losing 4 times in 5 games but Lebron is going to keep it close for our viewing pleasure.

Credit to the Cavaliers for playing hard, but this one is absolutely on the Warriors for failing to take advantage of their opportunities. Curry in particular made several poor decisions down the stretch.

That was the best finals game since Game 6 back in the 2013 Finals. Even though he's been a thorn in my Chicago Bulls side for years, I have to give credit to LeBron, he played phenomenal and actually kept his promise of bringing a title to Cleveland to boot. As for GS, despite their record breaking regular season, all those accomplishments seem for nothing since they couldn't win the big one to cap it all off. Their offense stagnating in the final few minutes was the nail in the coffin for them. Anyway, great game, congrats to the Cavs, and the Cleveland sports curse was nice while it lasted. I can at least still make fun of the Cubs for their title drought.
The Warriors probably have plenty of gripes with the series as a whole, but at the end of the day Game SEVEN was ripe for the taking with 5 minutes left and nobody on the team could get a single basket. There isn't anyone to blame for the loss but themselves. As much as the Warriors came up short, the Cavs deserve a bunch of credit for defending as well as they did for the majority of the series. I did not expect that level from them at all.

Lebron really put on a performance for the ages. He led the finals in all 5 stats, come on. I have him in my top 5 after this historic accomplishment. The only careers that I can say are definitively better are MJ and Kareem. What makes this incredible is that Lebron still has a few elite years left to leave his name all over history books.

But yeah, the Warriors have nothing to blame but themselves. From missing shots (Curry, Thompson), to getting injured (Iggy, Bogut for the 1,000th time), to Harrison Barnes being UTTERLY USELESS, to getting caught punching and kicking nuts/other illegal BS and getting suspended (Draymond Green, my personal scapegoat), and the bench not doing enough, theres not a cold chance in hell the Dubs were winning anything. Small ball has been figured out. Physical defense, insane rebounding, and cutting off the perimeter will kill jump shooting teams every time. OKC almost did but they choked, and the Cavs succeded. I think in the offseason Barnes will leave (and he needs to lol), and maybe some bench pieces will as well. We need some bigs to help out Draymond. Bogut while decent is too injury prone. We need to get someone who's like 7 feet and good and rebounding and passing. Curry and Thompson need to spend all summer expanding their games, mainly working on driving more when their shot doesn't fall. But all in all, we'll be championship caliber for years to come. I'm not worried.

Even though I understand that the NBA is a business and the Bulls front office needed to make some moves, D Rose getting traded to the Knicks hurts. Just look at his story. Growing up in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Chicago, being selected 1st overall by his hometown team, and in just three years became the youngest MVP in league history. For the first time since the MJ era, the Bulls were back on the map.It's a shame how injuries hampered him later on. If not for that they might've won a title by now, LeBron James led team be damned. It's actually a smart move for the Knicks financial wise because that $20 million or so a year Rose is paid is off the books for 2017-1018, when the salary cap increases and free agents like Russell Westbrook are ripe for the picking. Still, looking at the trade I don't see where Chicago benefits. They sent the Knicks a 2nd round pick too. It didn't really clear up that much cap space….
The Bulls must've really wanted to move on from Rose, geez. Well, a former MVP + New York = mass jersey sales.
The fuck is with Ibaka getting traded?! I know he couldn't exactly thrive there individually but the fit for the team was pretty good. They're going to miss his help defense greatly. Sure the frontcourt was crowded(especially when Durant played the 4 leaving only one spot on the floor for Ibaka/Adams/Kanter) but that was Thunders' strength. Makes you wonder if Durant had a say in this decision at all.
And here I am just waiting for Ainge to trade someone.

I agree that it is a horrible deal for the Magic. I predict Ibaka will ditch them after this offseason. But I don't know about the fit that the new pieces will have for the Thunder compared to Ibaka. I can't really imagine Westbrook and Oladipo sharing the court together. Oladipo will likely come off the bench, but Westbrook plays a ton of minutes every night so there are going to be many lineups with the two of them. Seems like high risk high reward to me.

Celtics snagged Horford! Normally I would gag at the contract he's getting, but after seeing Mike Conley get a billion dollars for having an okay career I see things differently. Apparently Durant seemed to like his meeting with the Clippers a lot. Still salty that the Wizards and their fans messed up any chance to get him.
Saw that report as well but I feel like Durant would sooner join the Warriors than Clippers. This is exciting though! If he does just end up back in OKC, it'll be a 2 year deal with a player option after Year 1 so he can hit the market again.

Stephen A. Smith is a buffoon at times, but he's 1000% right about this. How are you going to join the team that just beat you? He's pulling a Ray Allen in 2012, but the difference is that he's a top 3 player in the league and the cornerstone of a franchise. And I agree with his disgust of any comparisons to Lebron in 2010. This isn't comparable in any way. The Warriors have been the best team the past 2 seasons AND just beat him. What were the Heat like in 2009 and 2010?

I'm not bought in to them running over the league and breaking the record again. They will lose depth and teams are going to go at them HARD all season. I say they fall between 65-68 wins. I can't wait for Bradley, Crowder, Smart, and Brown to give their 3 shooters hell.

It's not a one-year deal. Most likely case is Durant re-ups with Golden State after next year when the cap raises.
Durant's situation isn't like LeBron and Cleveland. LeBron grew up in Cleveland, Durant is from DC. The Decision was literally the local kid spurning his hometown leaving for the bright lights of the city.
Durant is buddies with Golden State's Death Squad and he likes their style of play, as opposed to his fall out with Westbrook (warning: BR)
LeBron beating the Warriors almost certainly is what allowed this to happen - since it showed that villains can be redeemed in the NBA - and also that the Warriors can be as mortal as anyone in the postseason due to injuries and slumps. Golden State's vaunted well of depth ran dry at the end. The player most singularly responsible for blowing Games 5-7 is Harrison Barnes, who plays Durant's position and does it worse than him.
The biggest take home of the Durant signing isn't that he improves GSW's regular season chances. He immensely improves their postseason in part by taking out OKC as a threat. Suddenly, GS only has to fear the Spurs, and Duncan is allegedly going to retire.
OKC had its run, but really, they basically gave up the ghost by being cheap and trading James Harden. What happened in 2016 wasn't the beginning of a new era, but shining brightly before the end of one.

Being from OKC, I would find it worse if he did opt out and try to come back next year. Westbrook will be gone before the trade deadline. WB is completely right to not extend before this cap increase, but it puts OKC in the have to trade to set the foundation for the future of the franchise. If they don't trade and he leaves anyways that probably adds five years to any rebuilding cycle.
