Oda could
ve made powers that seemed "recycled" but in reality are different or even the opposite. For example, and as I mentioned earlier here, Vise having the ability of change the weight of objects instead being basically a poke evolution of Miss Valentine. And to be honest my issue with the hie hie and yuki yuki is not that they are "different levels of the same ability" (or something like that), but the fact that they are basically water in solid states, which is weird considering DF users "are rejected by the sea" and cant even bathe properly. (Tho I do recall the hie hie being considered a cold ability rather than an ice one… But just doesn`t looks that way)I dont understand your issue with Aokiji's and Monet's ability. I get that water and ice are essentially the same thing in different forms, but the thing that affects Df users is the liquid form of water. What Im curious about is what would happen if Aokiji or Monet melted… Would they be weakened forever and live the rest of their lives as a puddle of water or would they be able to solidify themselves again if that were ever to happen. I was thinking that if that were ever to happen and they couldnt solidify themselves, someone could just scoop them up and put them in a freezer or something and boom. All fixed.

My problem is that they lose their abilities if they fall on water, yet they are able to make/manipulate something that is basically solid water. I wouldn´t call it a problem, though, more like… Feels contradictory

Aokiji and Monet use pure water for all we know.

Nope it's regular water too. I think in an SBS Oda said that devil fruit users have to take showers instead of baths or something because they'll get all weak and stuff from being submerged

Shouldn't have been easier to say that just ocean (salted) water had effect on DF? I feel that he got much too complicated this way…

Then luffy would have been able to enjoy a bath or the hot springs in the movies and stuff. Ace was almost drowned when thrown into a river, and chopper had to cling to zoro during the shandora river chapter. And giant south birds had to save chopper and Pierre on the cloud sea. And luffy and smoker had to be carried out of the bananadiles tank, and Mr 3 floating i n that water had to be handwaved into being the super floaty wood.
Its all water that can submerge the user, meaning a shower is meaningless but sticking your arm into water has an effect, as seen during luffys rescue of sanji during the inmersion to fishman island.
It will be explained eventually.

Hadnt really given it much thought. Im aware that Akainu has evaporated Aokiji's ice on imapct before back in Marineford, but I believe his ice is able to withstand the heat as long as it isnt in contact with Akainu. So to answer your question, Id say no, since Aokiji would just evaporate. Haki was his main defense from being evaporated.
Edit: The correct scientific term is sublimation, solid to gas rather than evaporate, liquid to gas

I think they just get their power negated and revert to flesh if they are submited to heat that would melt them. Just like Crocodile can't turn into a mud-man by applying water to him.

Just as Akainu's when he is screaming in anger.This definitely prooves that G4 Luffy=Akainu in terms of power level right now.
Therefore,Luffy will need to achieve the ultimate red eye of anger to beat him. -

I'm surprised that first SBS submission picture made it through Shonen Jump's editing department. Interesting tidbits as always revealed in the SBS, and looks like Oda is just letting the fans decide which characters should have which birthdays. I get that he gets tired of having to give his blessing, but at the same time it's really something for him to be able to let the fans get in on contributing to the canon of the series in small ways like this.

Enel got on Volume 30. Sharing with Luffy anyway. And considering that we got a 2 year arc where he was the major antagonist it's surprising there is no Doflamingo on any spine.

I would but them if it was bigger hardcovers with new covers and have the colorspreads be on color pages. Pretty much what they did with the Deluxe Editions of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.

In the same vein as Toriyama, Oda will probably re-do the spines for a re-released 'complete' edition once the original manga is complete. That's right, you're going to buy them all again.
That will be a loooong time coming, but such a move will make sense given just how many volumes there will ultimately be since, like DB, the new volumes will be released in kanzenban format.
