Seconded about the Ichiban Kuji Girls Collection 2 Nami, I think she's quite underrated. She's the only Nami figure I currently keep long term. Beats the POP SA Nami any day for me.

Opinions obviously differ but to me this Nami just looks atrocious.
Boobs aside, I think there are way better ones out there especially when it comes to face/hair.Guess it really is her hair that bugs me the most on this one

Just got my invoice from amiami for WCF MUGIWARA Vol.2!! Finally!
In the end, the total for Vol.1 & 2 + MEGA Sunny was 12,080 yen including shipping. That's about 5,000 yen cheaper than Manda!
Downside now is i've gotta pay for them to be forwarded from US to UK, hopefully that comes out at under $40, otherwise i'll have waited an extra month just to break even ^^
Seems there's no cheap way of getting WCF figures these days, I guess it just is what it is!

You talking about the Banpresto Figure Colosseum? If so, I don't know, the last time they had some Chinese sculptors and none of them looked good. Hopefully they go back to using the normal sculptors because this is one of the only lines I get excited to see new figures for.

As i see from the website, the 2017 chinese sculptors is making nami, and i think it's not so good, and the chinese sculptors this year will be making katakuri…hope it will be good

My problem with the Banpresto Figure Colosseum is it stopped being about unique characters in fun poses and just 'Popular Char in Pose' once it became the usual suspects over and over and over again I just stopped buying them.
Needs to have a rule that removes Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Sanji, Law and Ace at the very least.

There are too many figures that deserve decent representation. One of Oda's strongest talents is being able to create so many vivid characters!!
That is part of the reason I recently switched to collecting WCF last year!!

Not sure how I feel about the aesthetics of this set, but I guess i'm just not a huge fan of the color spread. Let's wait and see how it looks completed in Feb with Vol.2's Luffy, Farul, Big Mom, Inuarashi, Marco & Califa.
Right now I'm more excited to find our what this -BATTLE OF LUFFY WHOLE CAKE ISLAND- set will contain! Not more Luffy Vs Katakuri surely!

Paid my POP Capone Bege invoice this week. £117 shipped!! Looks like the Yen/Sterling conversion is really bad again. I remember the days when it was 200 yen to the £. Alas, not anymore!
Regardless, really excited for Bege. I'm pleased he comes with alternate arms, something i've missed with the recent MAXIMUMS.
Decided to pass on Whitebeard & Sanji, so this will be it for me now until Katakuri in December

I've ordered from Amazon CB-R versions of Franky (17€) and Usopp (26€). I was tempted by Bartolomeo Limited at 80€ but at the moment I prefer to wait on him and at most buy some cheap CBs.
No way I'm gonna preorder new POPs, especially Maximums. I hope their value will decrease in future, and more than that I wish the line will get back to glorious days. -

To be honest, I feel like the situation is improving ever so slightly. Even if they're expensive the new Jinbe, Katakuri and especially Capone are steps in the right direction - and they're probably the most stunning POPs ever.
I also preordered Capone, so looking forward to that. I always appreciate some love for characters, that don't look cool in the classical way.
I hope we see some new characters at the next Megahobby as well, I am really surprised there's no Carrot and Pudding yet. Don't know if and how they'll handle Big Mom, though because of the great design I would also love a Perospero POP. Other than the WCI arc it would also be nice if they'd stop ignoring Punk Hazard (Caesar, Monet, Vergo, TS Smoker, TS Tashigi…).

I agree on both perspectives! We are a long way from the glory days, especially if you are paying attention to all the BB stuff, but to be honest, at this point they don't even register as Portrait of Pirate figures any more. They are just a side line, like DB Gals.
The only figures i'm seeing are G4 Luffy, Law Vs, Jinbe, Capone Bege, Whitebeard, Sanji, Katakuri, Hancock, Zoro, etc. To me, that is a really great line-up, even if they aren't monthly anymore, MH are still producing really great figures.
I'm actually really grateful for the slowdown, as it's given me time to fall back in love with articulated figures, which I was a big fan of before!

The problem is that even "minor" characters are sold at excessively high prices:
- Capone at 13'000 yen
- Perona CB at 7'400 yen (!!!)
- Cavendish at 11'000 yen
- Luffy ver 20th at 9'250 yen
- Sengoku at 12'400 yen
and I don't take Maximum in consideration. I know that prices have risen for all the market and not only for POPs, but how do they expect people to spend 11'000+ yen for a figure when just some years ago a similar one cost 7'000/8'000 yen?
I know these are luxury items, so who can afford them will buy them anyway, but I think they could have managed better the situation if they wanted to keep the line going at the old pace.

2019 - Zoro ??? yenTo me Kid felt unnecessary as a Maximum, but I bought it because I love Supernovae and wanted them all (…) and when it arrived it felt worth the enormous amount of money I paid for it (120€ at the time, shipment included, thanks to 1up and his GrandLine Shop... wow, who could forget).
Same went with Franky, I started buying POPs because I wanted the whole crew (and then it escalated way too quick and to the whole serie :ninja:) and even though I wasn't happy paying that much when he arrived I felt like it was the right choice.
I did preorder Luffy G4 because I loved his appearence and pics were great, but when I saw his dimensions they were a delusion to me for the price, so I canceled my preorder.
Then the like kept going and now it feels too much. It should have been one Maximum in a while, now it feels as new characters are only Maximum. I know Zoro and Boa will sell (and they look beautiful), but I would have prefered to see Big Mom and Kaidou, characters who effectively are maximum in size.Prices and the focus of the line went up from Neo to DX, from DX to SA and now it seems from SA to Maximum with some Limited in between. Bandai manages the market and its price target lines, even Figuarts had an unnecessary rise in price, so did Banpresto figures and Megahouse ones. Everything has been shifted up one level, but I feel like this has reduced client base (at least outside of Japan).

Love that Don Krieg of all people is getting a figure. Reminds me of earlier ones where we got the likes of Jango, Cindry, Paulie etc. I think this only leaves Robin and Franky without a Collo figure right? I honestly thought Robin was in this one as the Banpresto Collo twitter was really hyping her as of late.

Well it looks like I'm not getting the Funko Brook NYCC exclsuive from Hot Topic, my sister follows the local store on Instagram. They announced their opening an hour early tomorrow, giving out tickets to people in line to get into the store and then each person can buy up to 5 of each exclusive…........5 per person. Their going to sell out in 15 minutes and from what my sister has been reading its just re-sellers that come and wipe out the inventory every time. Absolutely pathetic. So unless no one cares about Brook and One Piece I highly doubt I will find one since I can't get there till after work.
