Not to go on a rant but I hate Amiami they are one of the most unprofessional militant companies I have ever had the displeasure of being a customer with. It is indeed frustrating that they have Banpresto items now.

Really? I don't think i've ever had a bad experience with amiami. I think once I had an outstanding invoice because I was waiting to combine the order with other items and they got a bit narky, but otherwise they've always been a good place to shop.
Anyway, my WCI Vol.1 has dispatched from Japan, so I should receive it in about a week. I am in Toronto for a week from Monday so i'll be sure to do a review when I'm back. I think i'm long overdue one!!

Yeah it was 3 years ago, I was hard on money had to cancel one or two orders and the way they communicated was very unfriendly, implying like I was some garbage criminal while making threats towards my account. I eventually decided to close my account on my own terms for a number of reasons but as I later found out they put me on a permanent ban list even known I was the one that closed my account while my account was on decent terms. I've tried contacting them over the last 2 years and they don't reply to anything and if I try to make a new account they close it with no communication. They must have my shipping address on a ban list. Companies have the right to deny service but they definitely go about it in the most asshole way possible, especially since I was a regular customer, supporting their business and all up to that point. A lot of companies take that route anymore, no common decency or appreciation of loyalty. All they care about is money.
I will say at that same time 3 years ago I had to go through similar issues with HobbySearch but they were the complete opposite. They were kind, gentlemanly and communicated with me. We were able to resolve things on good terms. I highly recommend them, they have always been a pleasure to do business with.

Yikes yeah that is bad.
And Shipping should be around the same for the shipping for similar items. Although I've noticed Nendoroids are in smaller boxes than they were a few months ago and the shipping is the same.
Mandarake I have to be careful with. Sometimes their shipping can be around £5 but others it'll be £20. Especially on their ebay site it'll automatically lock you in with EMS.

Guys, can you recommend me a proxy service?
I'm looking to buy multiple small items from one seller on Yahoo. Some services seem good, but they have like flat charge rate of ~300 yen per item, and when I want to buy items that cost 150-300 yen per piece… That's not good. I'll be doubling the price that way
I think there should be options where it's one fee per seller cause the proxy won't be doing any job on that, the seller will just combine all items together... -
My sister has been looking for one as well but it seems most proxies are doing per item fees, some are ridiculous once you add it up. If anyone knows anyone I'm interested as well.

I think proxy companies are bloodsuckers. Better to get stuff off the online collectible stores. I eyed the Yahoo JP Auction for figures some time last year because the prices and goods can be irresistible, but gave up because the proxy services totaled up to way more than the prices you can get off from, say, Mandarake or Plamoya. Yahoo JP auctions are only good for locals… or if you happen to have a close Japanese friend who doesn't mind getting it for you for free.

So I've been freaking out about these MUGIWARA56 sets, after watching DDDShop sellout it's sets for $130 each!!!
I've now opened a USGoBuy account and ordered them from amiami.
Basically I'll have them shipped from Japan to Oregon and then both forwarded together to the UK next month. Does anyone have any experience with using these forwarding services? The fee is only 10% of the product value, so even with double shipping, it's gotta come in under the crazy aftermarket prices!
Even on YAJ it's 9,800 yen already!! And that's before shipping and proxy fees!

Thinking about it, it's unlikely to be anything that new, considering the anime won't hit Wano for another 16-18 months, and the figure is due out in March.
More likely it'll be either a another "new world" version, (perhaps a more dynamic pose), or a dressrosa version (suit and mustache).
It could always be another pre-timeskip, like to 20th Anniversary version, but i'd like it to be more current personally.

Yeah, I hate to play devils advocate, but if either of those appearances get a prototype shown at either this months WonFes and/or Novembers Megahobby Expo it'll be a first!!
I think the first and last time a prototype was shown ahead of an anime appearance was Shirahoshi in 2011, 2 months ahead of her televised reveal, and released 5 months after.
The anime is a big promotional platform for merchandising, and the Megahose designs rely on it for their colour palettes, etc.
Wano Arc won't be televised until Summer/Autumn 2019, so it's very unlikely. Personally i'd just be happy with a dynamic santoryu version in either his FI, PH or DR outfit.

Looking forward to the Lady Edge line after getting Wedding Boa Hancock special version! She is drop dead gorgeous. The lower portion of her dress transitions into a translucent plastic so you can see them legs. You can also see her brand on her back under her hair, a nice detail. Only issue is the waist seam which I can only assume was a manufacturing issue/need. Very nice.

Hopefully! I'm kinda surprised at the speed Banpresto are releasing these. The anime won't even conclude the Luffy Vs Katakuri battle until about 6 months after the release of Vol.3!
The WCF sets seem to have gone full steam, rather than pacing it better with more "Seducing Wood, Luffy Vs Sanji, History of Big Mom, etc.". For us to get Sulong Carrot before the end of the year seems crazy! But i'm not complaining!
I just hope this doesn't mean another big break in 2019, with a bunch of random stuff like this years Relay collection.

The change started with WCF Volume 10, the Baratie arc one.
Seeing these pics, they look like the old ones, which is good.
Wow! So basically after the first year? 2010? and everything since 2011 until now have been different material?
I have to say I like the change and am not a big fan of the very early sets, some of the paint app look like it's cracking. As if the figures faces are covered in concealer X)
I recently decided to start a Marineford battle display case, but the Vol.4 Shichibukai set looks awful! I've opted for the Ichiban Kuji re-releases as the finish looks slightly better on Jinbe especially.

On the previous subject of proxy services, has anyone used BigInJapan's forwarding service yet?
I know it's not technically a proxy, but it seems it could be handy when you want to order from Rakuten Japan stores that won't ship overseas.
Anyway, I'm gonna give it a go, so i'll let you know how I get on. Seems there is a flat rate fee of 500 yen per shipment for the service + onward shipping and a % paypal fee.
Not too bad I guess.

I've just bought my first Detolf to move my POP collection and I have to say they are way too small. I knew they couldn't have many POPs on each floor, but it's the first time I see one and they're REALLY small, even more than I thought. Anyway I think I'm going to get another 1 or 2 since there arent' better alternatives (or I should say cheaper, since there are better ones such as precious showcase but the cost to expose all of my statues would be way too high for me) and I've had enough of cleaning the dust from them. I've found these which someone else said are good for keeping the detolf dust free, but sadly I'll have to split groups as I had them exposed before (and I love a lot seeing big groups all together).
Something that is really getting on my nerves are the base's pegs: before I used to remove most parts from the statue often and clean them, and even in that way they already did get stuck and some broke (even some head pegs). Lately I've been cleaning without removing bases for a long time, and now I'm afraid of doing it because if I try I can feel the base is almost fused with the figure. My room doesn't get overheat and I've never kept them with direct sunlight, so I think this isn't due to how I keep them. They are just too much fragile, why didn't they build them a better way? >_>
POPs are beautiful but they don't pass the test of time, for example Whitebeard has purple paintings on his back which are caused by his coat (funny how especially him shouldn't have any sign on his back, sad since he's one of my favourite pieces) and I don't think I could have avoided them. I'll have to take a day and try to fix at least all of the broken pegs, I don't know if I will be able to erase Whitebeard's painting signs. :sad:
