One Piece Collectibles v.11 Main Discussion - "Nothing but Fanservice!!"

is the price tag out yet?
Looks amazing. Not for me but still amazing. I'm gonna guess £200 before shipping
Actually, it's only 14,800 yen: http://megatreshop.shop40.makeshop.jp/shopdetail/000000000648/
Pre-orders open on Thursday! I'm pleasantly surprised by the price, but given how much smaller a character zoro is compared to Newgate or Katakuri, it wouldn't have made sense to put him up for 20K+.
I paid 15K for Bege, so I'll willingly shell out the same for my favourite green haired swordsman!
Still need to decide on that Hancock! It's a beautiful figure, but I just have no where appropriate I can display her with those womanly curves!!
-
That's honestly not bad. I'm going to Japan next year and a friend loves him.
Anyways I did a video on the new Figuarts Robin, it's so beautiful.
-
Yeah i'll buy it as soon as i find it at a con. It's great to have a cool figure of Robin that isn't pure fanservice and has some cool battle … stuff.

Next months Treasure Rally III sets B,C,D have finally been revealed!! Looks like the are re-releasing Thriller Bark now after Strong World. I kinda half expected it!!
I'm only really interested in Pandaman and maybe Zunisha…..
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
WCI Vol.3 now out in Japan!! That Big Mom looks amazing! They timed this release perfectly with the events in the anime!!
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Seems the new Sanji from Banpresto is only 20cm tall from cape to head. It's pretty small, but does it make it FAZ scale >

Actually this set doesn't come out until Tuesday the 27th according to Banpresto. Those pictures just look like a display for new figures to be released.
Those old Thriller Bark figures are pretty expensive for WCF so I'd appreciate the Nightmare Luffy. All 4 of those sets release on Dec 22nd.

Zoro up at NY for 16,480¥: https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/26791-one-piece-portrait-of-pirates-sa-maximum-roronoa-zoro-versanzen-sekai-limited-edition.html
Typical 10% "proxy service" increase, but I'll still pay it. Need a new shelf now for Luffy, Jinbe, Bege, Katakuri, Zoro!…................and now finally, Law Vs Ver!!!
Been holding out for so long, but finally decided to snag it since it's nearly Xmas!!
-
Looks like I only need 5 of those new treasure figures since I already have the rest. :)

Nice!! Aren't there 6 new ones? Luffy + Hancock and then the 4 title characters, Pandaman, Klabautermann, Roger & Zunisha? Or is one of them a re-release?
I'm most likely going to skip on them all. Taking a break after WCI Vol.3 and the IK 50th sets until March so I can reassess my display space. Looking forward to Cracker!

It's that time again folks!! Only a few hours until doors open to Megahobby. Who's got their fingers crossed for POP Sulong Carrot and MAXIMUM G4 Snakeman Luffy??!!
-
It's the 15th Anniversary for POPs? Wow.
-
Yet again, I would look forward more towards a regular version of Carrot first.^^
I wonder if we'll ever get an updated Blackbeard now looking at the newest chapter.
-
I have my fingers and toes crossed for some great stuff! As well as hoping for a no-show for the BB series…
-
It's the 15th Anniversary for POPs? Wow.
Let's prepare for Luffy 15th Annyversary then.
15 years of production is impressive, I've got my first POPs on December 2011 and I immediately fell in love with them, to the point that I bought 52 of them in a little more than 2 years (sadly I had to slow down then). I still love the line, I'd prefer a whole POP collection with 70+ different characters than a Tsume one with less than 10 characters. I was delused in recent years as everyone, but I always hope to see the line getting back to expanding the roster and releasing surprising pieces.
Trying to predict new characters was really exciting to me, if I'm right we used to see almost 8 new characters per event, so I'm going with 8 names (and expecting 2 if we're really lucky):- Carrot, I think this is a given one, and a maximum Sulong ver. seems even more likely than a regular one
- Kaidou, another maximum which could benefit from the hype of Wano, but this already seems very unlikely and I realize we won't see anyone else for sure, but anyway…
- Hawkins, is going to play a major role and could go along other Supernovae
- Tama, now that's one I think has real possibilities due to being small and that they can overprice her
- Big Mom, a whole emperors display would be too good to be real
- Kinemon, given how much time he's been in the story but I don't think they see him as a selling character
- Pudding, a wedding version could go along the Sanji they already released
- Buggy
Let's see, I don't have big hopes. Given the trend we're getting some limited and a lot of BBs, so sad…
-
IF we are gonna include Wano then Luffy and Robin are the two obvious choices. Maybe a Nami. But honestly I think it may be too soon for Wano ones.
15th Anniversary ones makes me hope they'll do all of the crew with new versions but doubt it.
We haven't seen an Ace in a while. Or a Law. They'll throw those out at us for 15th Anniversary ones no doubt.
Maybe they'll give us Buggy finally?

https://www.megahobby.jp/megahobby/event/expo2018_autumn/img/expo_map.jpgYou are correct, sir. It's 6 that I'll have to hunt down. I thought that Roger was a re-release, but went back and checked the ones I have and it's different. Oops.
-
-
Hina!?
That's a genuine surprise.
-
Finally! One of the dream P.O.Ps! Only Heavy Point and Buggy remain.
-
Bigger picture. A real surprise! Tbh I would have prefered a PH Smoker & Tashigi, but I guess this is a jab at FOC studio showing that they can do it better!!
Depending on the price I may be inclined to pick this up! It's a really nice figure!
This on the other hand is a must get!! No questions asked!!
-
Half price WCI Vol.1 at amiami if anyone is interested! https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?gcode=FIGURE-037052

All in all MegaHobby was a nice event with a lot of cool new figures, but from One Piece point of view it was poor with only 2 new figures shown. At least we didn't see any new BB, so it's getting better.
Luffy Snakemen was expected, given how they're going hard with the Maximum line, but Hina is a nice surprise. I love having side characters, she may not be more popular or prominent than other characters but she has two arguments that MegaHouse considers crucial as a selling point (and looks even a bit exaggerated on the prototype). -

It's slow progress, but it's nice to finally see things moving in the right direction. I just hope these get the support they deserve! Seems there is only a small online community now for POP discussion, although looking at how quickly the aftermarket prices are increasing, there is certainly still a lot of people buying them, which is great to see!! I think people like to keep their hobbies private these days =) Especially if they buy a lot of BB's!!
Hancock and Hina are the first 2 respectable female figures we've seen since Koala. They are the most "characteristic" based on the source material. I'd even say they messed up with Reiju, as there was no need for that pose. It's the equivalent of giving us a goofy faced Bartholomew Kuma. It just isn't representative of the characters behaviour, so why do it?
Anyway, I'm really looking forward do getting Katakuri, Hancock, Zoro, Hina and Snakeman Luffy next year!!!
-
I cannot wait for these:

I think the aftermarket has been one of the problems of this line: we know well the overprice that rose in the golden years, as well as usual people who bought them just to profit on their resell. Add to that the difficult there was to preorder every single figure, and it's easy to figure out why a lot of people lost interest in POPs.
What surprises me is that this status of expensive figures persists, especially in the aftermarket and I think that Maximum's prices could be one of the causes, since reseller can relate older figures value to the new ones. Excluded amazon japan used, I see people asking crazy prices for their figures. I know they like them and think they're worthy a lot, but how can they ask almost double the price for a figure which has been opened (and I can say that a lot of times they aren't kept in good conditions as said), that is already in your country (so you don't have to worry about taxes or high shipping prices) and that doesn't have much request (because if after some months you still haven't sold a piece you think is so much wanted I would have some doubts about his economic value).
If Megahouse's low years haven't lowered the aftermarket price I don't know what could, maybe an international well known platform which uniforms prices. -
I cannot wait for these:
Been meaning to comment on this. Yeah, looks like a great set, and for those wondering, it's taken from the Ch 802 color spread:
-
You're right Kanji, we discuss less about figures but we still collect and thank you a ton for all the informations you and other here provide !
-
Apparently Megahouse announced another new addition to the BB line series (sigh), and it is Reiju - tentative release date in September 2019 but no other details/pics yet.
-
Hina looks gorgeous! I just ordered SA Maximum Zoro, will post pics when he comes in next year.
-
This is one for you chopper lovers!! Looks amazing!!
-
Chopper looks awesome. Too bad I dont have the space.
I dunno if it's new but saw a Nami B.B with Beer celebrating the 15th Anniversary of P.O.P. I guess it is reflective of the past few years.
-
Monkey D. Luffy Gear 4 “Snakeman” SA-MAXIMUM POP colored version from la Jump Festa
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
New SA-MAXIMUM POP, I think is Ace in Marineford using Mera Mera no Mi powers
Tony Tony Chopper Ver. OT POP, so cute!!!
Reiju Ver. BB POP.
-
That Chopper is a must have. So Adorable. And yeah sadly it looks like another Ace is coming. When will they learn to just let him go?
-
I'm holding out misplaced hope is a Sulong Carrot diorama.
-
Tsume is the only figure maker i am going to ignore because all they want is money and elitist figure collection, megahouse is about to expand their maximum line, if they give a good price for them with quality, it's going to be over for Tsume .
-
Yeah, looks like another Ace. Easy pass for me the same as Newgate. Loving that new Luffy though!
-
thx again Mega House , for ignoring all characters that could be made,
in favor of another big boob character nobody asked for…...
and more Chopper nonsense.... -
i bought my first one piece figure with some christmas money today, it's the variable action hero nami. she's been at my kinokunyia since they opened earlier this year and i've been eyeing her since but have never had the funds to get her. i'm usually not very into posable figures and would almost always rather have a dynamic posed high quality static figure than a posable one, but this one is very nice. my only gripe is she comes with four faces and not one of them is her sticking her tongue out, i know she doesn't do that much post time skip but it's does come with the okay hand so one would think….also two of those faces are very similar and including a tongue out one would have been better than a placid face and a smirking face. also she doesn't come with a stand and is top heavy with very small feet but it is possible to get her to stand. i know this was a lot of complaining but i really do like her and she fits in monster high doll clothes pretty well (i used to collect mh, yes i was an adult doll collector) so i can make sure she's warm in these chilly winter months. :D
-
Picked up my first Luffy in a long time with the One Piece Mania Produce Monkey D. Luffy. The running one with all of the merch. Honestly wow it's amazing and you can see the amount of love put into it. I'll upload a video on it soon
-
Looks like the new year will be exciting for One Piece merch. My Katakuri POP is getting ready to ship!!
I'm behind on my WCF updates, received WCI Vol.3 last week and they are awesome! Also 50th Katakuri, Luffy, Zoro & Sanji are now out! Can't wait to get mine!
I really hope the same 2 figures don't get released in March with BATTLE OF LUFFY. I find it suspicious that they haven't been revealed yet!!
-
Anyone know a decent source to get some of these upcoming POPs? My old source (Kolektakon) seems to have closed now and I actually wouldn't mind that Nami BB for the 15th Anniversary. Please don't say Crunchyroll as they're extortionate for shipping.

Whatever floats your boat I guess ^^ I'm still using Nippon Yasan for Limiteds. That Nami's going for 9,980¥:

Thanks. Dunno why I want her. I guess its just cus its a 15th Anniversary thing and I'd like a Nami to go with the Robins.
Also picked up the One Piece Mania Produce Luffy recently. It's honestly amazing and one of the few figures that feels like a One Piece figure rather than a simple figure depicting a character.
-
Here part of my Christmas' presents, a lot of One Piece stuff this year!!!
-
That Luffy figure certainly captures his energy and charisma, I think! Hope they come out with more figures like that this year.
-
Greg did say they were doing an Ace so I guess him and Sabo. Personally I'd love it if they did the full crew with this one.
-
Somebody tell me again they aren't reducing the scale of POPs. I mean sure, we know Katakuri wasn't going to be "scale" per say, but even his head is smaller than Luffys. Come on!
-
Got this at round 1 today. Awesome looking prize from the crane machine ..WCF collection
Edit:it's the thousand sunny figure..pic won't show up from imgur
-
Does anyone know what this weird Candy Chopper POP is based off of? Is it manga art from somewhere?
-
Looks like volume 1 of the "Levely" WCF figures is starting to pop up. For some reason, the figures looks ridiculously detailed. Not sure if these are just promo images or how they'll actually look, but wow.
