@Sheep:
After all, a story where a daughter decides that she can just on completely depend on her big poppa is so much more involving then a tormented character who delivers some sort of comeuppance to her tormentors.
I mean, who would want that shit, if you can reduce a characters role to just enduring things, which in itself is very admirable, unfortunately I'd like for things like that to lead to something pleasant
EVEN if she was reduce to endure. SHOW SOME CHARACTER GROWTH. Dressrosa is honestly a mess of a island, in terms of story. The backstory needed for fleshing out that it was an island that promoted peace throughout. We got hints of it b/c of the instability that DD spread, the islands near it have gone through a decade of violent and war. But it would've been nice to have that told more (made more explicit) for the readers only b/c you expect them to feel more COMPELLED that it's a pacifist island that the princess (Rebecca) is supposed to idealize/symbolize.
A second thing it would've helped do is, is helped to contrast Riku (non-world noble) with the evils of DD (a world noble), in the sense that this was the island that the Don quixote family came from. Having the explicit contrast in the backstory to the pacifist ideals of Riku's family line vs how evil the World Noble were/are would've given us more drama.
@Maju:
but she doesn't need to be build..she is at her best the very moment we saw her,as a girl who didn't want to fight but still managed to survive while staying true to his idea that hurting people is bad.what changed is that now there are people with her than can allow her to stop gfighting if she doesn't want to…and she doesn't..when she says she does,it's because she thinks it's her duty,not because she wants to.
basically we were first shown the strong rebecca,and now we have the fragile one,the one who is still a child,not the other way around.
So she's gone backwards as a character…...........................
@YoiYoi:
Rebecca is boobs.
That is all there is to her.
Fairy tail gives me boobs AND epic females who can kick ass, so yup. I don't care about fanservice just kick assness.
@Daz:
Yeah, my main issue with her is that the storytelling dismisses every single attempt she makes at being proactive. Her character arc is basically that she "shouldn't try", which is a pretty weird message for this manga.
Like i said, even with the lack of her being a "bad ass" character who can fight, I would've been fine with her doing SOMETHING.
