JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part II: Do the Dio Walk!

It's probably a bot.

I forgot about the reason Diavolo walks right into Gold Experience Requiem is because Trish calls him a coward.

Diavolo is definitely the pinnacle of JoJo's villains getting absolutely shit on purely because "I'm not owned!"
-
Yeah, there is no form of animation that could have done this episode in 2001.
-
is it me or every mista's battles hes in the brink of death?
-
Almost every time Mista's gun is fired, he gets shot.
-
Mista is actually Sex Pistols Number 4, that’s why he is so unlucky.

Not having a 4th pistol means that his bad luck keeps jumping around. He would have been the 4th of the team to die.

Jobin's power isn't much of a surprise but it's nice to have some confirmation. Kind of sad that Ojiro was reintroduced just to die a chapter later though. The plot with Makorin seemed like something that may go somewhere but I guess not.
-
And she'll have fun, fun, fun until Speed King makes her skin explode.
-
I wasn't sure about him at the beginning but Jobin has played the role of "tweener" to perfection.
-
Bummer that the girl lost her mother though.
-
Great chapter, but I find disturbing how I simply can register in my mind Tsurugi stand abilities. Every single time I go "what were its powers again? Something with people looking like John Malkovich?"
-
next month though
Chapter 89
the age of the Head Doctor, big things in place, I'm sure -
Seriously, this series is 89 chapters long.
-
@Cyan:
Seriously, this series is 89 chapters long.
I don't mean to sound like a broken record but, 89 chapters long? Is this series really that long?
-
For comparison, Steel Ball Run was 95 chapters.
The final boss was dead by this point.
-
Steel Ball Run also had about 25 or so weekly chapters before Araki switched to monthly, in fairness.
-
That's about half a year, so 6 chapters in the strict sense, or around 12 in the page count sense.
-
-
now animate Purple Haze Distortion so we can pretend Fugo matters
-
- where was trish at the end
2)i was really looking for a jolyne teaser like they did for jotaro in part 2 end :(
- where was trish at the end
-
The Giorno version of the opening is my favorite one. Shame they didn't add more stuff to the epilogue. Also they reused the same bit of music twice when Mista sees Rolling Stones, which came off as silly to me and could have been done better.
@masterpeice:- where was trish at the end
Why would she have anything to do with the gang? She's probably off doing her own thing. That ending shot doesn't take place directly after they visit the Coliseum anyway.
-
My man Giorno looking dapper as fuck in black! There he is, the most powerful canonical character in JoJo in both status and Stand ability.
-
The finale was a big whatever. Somehow the Rolling Stones bit felt even more awfully timed on the anime.
That said, Vento Aureo was definitely my favorite animated part so far along with Stardust Crusaders - both coincidentally being my least favorites parts in the manga. The only thing I hope is the next two follow this quality level.
And one part less until the day I can finally see Steel Ball Run animated.
-
So let's review Diavolo's last fifteen minutes of life:
- reclaims his body, but is now missing his tenant and is essentially screwed by his own psychosis for the rest of his life
- has the perfect opportunity to escape or at the very least set a new ambush for Giorno and Pals
- while he's walking away, Trish calls him a bitch, this makes him turn around because apparently in addition to being impossibly paranoid and deeply sociopathic Diavolo is also Marty McFly, and runs at Giorno without even activating King Crimson for safety
- he throws one (1) punch at Giorno, but it's too fucking late because Giorno stabbed himself with the arrow thirty-five minutes ago
- Giorno punch rushes him into the Tiber, where he gets shanked by junkies shooting up the drugs he sold
- he is then dragged off to Hell for the next 11 or so years
And then Giorno erases all of Diavolo's existence by claiming that he was the don of Passione the whole time despite being less than half Diavolo's age, and this actually works.
The rocks with shit written on them were a more intimidating and impressive final boss.
-
i still love that diavolo's defeat hinges on the literal "i'm not owned" reaction
little did diavolo know that he'd be owned for the rest of time -
I thought this ended weeks ago.
-
The direction in Diavolo's scene in episode 38 was on point. Reall did a fantastic job of capturing the horrific nature of Gold Experience Requiem's abilitiy. Also, a nicely animated stand rush to finish things off.
Overall, I think its pretty save to say that part 5 is overall the most well animated David Production JoJo anime installment to date.
Hope they can top it if(probably more a matter of when) they get around to part 6.

This is hard to agree to. Some sequences look excellent, but the overall experience feels like stretched budget. There are tone of absolutely still shots, bad-looking special effects and CG, and limited movement in action scenes. In many ways it's the worst-looking part put to screen so far. I'd say the best things about it are good-looking character models and backgrounds, but there's not a whole lot going on in the animation most of the time
-
-
The only way to introduce Jolyne is by her being caught with sticky fingers by Tom Hanks looking guard.
-
-
Am I the only one who dislikes part 6 the most solely because of the ending?
-

they could at least told us what shes doing
-
That ending finally stoped the time manipulation villains, and gave us part 7. I could not care less for Jotaro, or for Emporio's ks.

In terms of actual animation and movement, although there are a few episodes where things get a little melty, there were usually pretty consistent, if not terribly long lasting animation highlights in most episodes, something that isn't true really for any of the other parts really. The 2012 anime was excruciatingly limited movement wise, and while part 3 started off strong, its production animation wise had pretty much collapsed by the second season. Part 4's animation stopped being consistent around 10 episodes in.
Even if generally there isn't a whole lot of animation going on, its still more good animation on a whole than any of the previous parts really had going on, and I still say be a decently significant margin.

Given how it's Stone Ocean is pretty damn divisive within the fanbase?
-
Stone Ocean is the best part I have no idea what anyone is talking about
It takes the Bizzare to the next level -
Stone Ocean is my personal favorite, followed by SBR. Jolyne makes the whole part and it strikes a great balance between Stand of the Week and serious plot progression.

-
I hope they manage to make Hermes chin tattoo (?) not look like a goatie. That will be DP greatest challenge to date.

Ha, that was great.

Stone Ocean has the best page in the entire series.

Jolyne alone should be enough to make anyone don’t hate the part. And the Gay Priest too.
