In Manga yes, they kind of do. And in real life, unless you were too young to know how to write "friendship", you'd dislike people as well.
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part II: Do the Dio Walk!

best friends eat italian food with each other
this is factual -
Okuyasu is a better friend than Koichi, because Okuyasu is a kind soul while Koichi ignores everyone exploding like a heartless monster (Jotaro has the excuse of Josuke taking his pen and then not returning it.)
-
Okuyasu should be thankful that he turned good, or else Josuke would have made him eat a cactus.
-
The playing cards are a red herring and Caato's true power is to pull cactuses out of space-time rifts and throw them.
-
Scary Monsters, but with Cacti.

best friends eat italian food with each other
this is factualPlus real friends would punch a plate of spaghetti to see if it is actually poisoning their best friend.

maybe if the Aphex Brothers were the Cactus Brothers they wouldn't have jobbed so hard

My main gripe with the Jojo series happens way too often. Weird sounds and freaky stuff happening constantly but characters that should know better decide it's probably nothing. Wtf Jotaru!?
-
You're just saying that because you didn't notice the invisible sound absorbing cacti.

Araki loves fucking with things…....so he can fuck with his characters.

They are acting, if they react "THIS IS THE WORK OF AN ENEMY STAND" from the begining, is like an invitation for the enemy stand to close the trap upon them.
-
what if all of jojo's is a show and we're just the viewers
-
All three new stand users of part 8 had human bitemarks in their bodies in a part that was ground level . josuke barely counting, but his soft and wet is different from the original. In other series we see the awakening of very few new stands, most notably koichi, johnny and gyro, but the mechanics are different, specially how tusk, echoes and ball breaker are tiny, but some of them evolved, while gpstand, king nuts and soft & wer were shown matured.
-
Yeah, I've started up a reread of part 8, and was wondering about that, since the point seems all but dropped as far as current stuff goes, unless I forgot something. Maybe the ghost of Jesus was giving people love bites?
what if all of jojo's is a show and we're just the viewers
-
the real explanation we need is why did Joubin want to lick josuke's eyeball
even for JJBA that's pretty weird
-
Not as weird as Bruno licking Giornos cheek to see if he had the taste of a liar..
-
Doyan? And that Valentinish face?

I have to say, despite a great start, in general I'm not enjoying DiU adaptation.
While SC adaptation made an arc I always found terribly drawn out become something funny and captivating, this one just seems to do the opposite. All the scenes that should be climaxes and fast seem to be ruined by slow pace - I know it's hard to adapt manga scenes that should take place in 2 or 3 second inside the story when they are filled with huge texts, but so far it seems they are never doing it properly. They never seem to focus on the sudden twists (DON!), the music is never building up tension when it should and even in originally exciting scenes like Kira x Josuke, I just find myself bored to death…
The last two episodes were good examples of that, particularly the bit with the air bubble advancing at an excruciatingly slow pace towards Josuke: everything was SO slow the tension was completely lost despite all the shouting since the feeling of "being saved on the last split second" is diluted when a second seem to take forever to happen, also the part with Josuke body suddenly starting to float was incredibly anti-climatic, you couldn't even tell it was supposed to be a surprise twist because there was no change in the pace or anything to signify that something new was happening.
I don't know, it's just not working with me. -

Araki sounds so humble about his works, also, is a shame they had to cut part 7 in the interview.

I don't know, it's just not working with me.The only thing i disliked is Hayato having more plot shield than Erza and Trunks combined, and his dialog shouldve been reduced, there were some parts that didnt really need explanation.

It is announced that Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has reached printing 100 million copies. So, Jojo will be 6th Jump series to reach 100 million marks (behind One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Kochikame and Slam Dunk).

I just did a reread of everything so far in part 8, and I've got some thoughts:
[hide]Man, doing an archive read clears up a lot of things about this story. It's not like I didn't have all the pieces in my head, just never could put them together. I had completely forgotten things like Norisuke's motivations and never really thought out anything on Damo's gang and a bunch of other plot details, among other things. Some things that came to mind when reading:
We never really learned about Kira's mark. The one on the handrail in the Higashikata house, and the SBR record book. It was supposedly related to Kira, and used to point out those things, but we never found out if there was anything more to it, like it seemed in the beginning, and it was never brought up again. Maybe just one of those things Araki dropped like he's known to do?
Speaking of things that never got brought up again, the Johnny flashback mentioned something about a kid that washed up on the shore soon after he died that hasn't become relevant in any way. Maybe Josefumi's ancestor? Who knows.
Another thing of interest in the Johnny flashback that was never expanded on was that he was followed by government agents, and they reclaimed the Jesus corpse. Since the rokakaka and the Jesus corpse both do equivalent exchange, and the fruit comes from New Guinea, I was thinking that the corpse might have gotten lost on the way back. I know there's some insinuation that the rokakaka has existed for a long long time, but the Jesus fruit thing still seems like the obvious answer. Plus the rokakaka is based on the fig, which has some biblical symbolism attached to it, so who knows.
Going back to Kira for a moment, there was some implication that he and Norisuke knew each other, too, somewhere. I mean beyond how Norisuke knew Kira was looking for the way to heal the disease, which is why he took Josuke in.
Also I am still not clear what part of Josuke's power actually comes from Kira. Early on they implied that the bubble part was Kira's, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. As far as I can tell, the stand is pretty much just Josefumi's. Does anyone have a clearer read on this?
Are they ever going to go back to the stadium to search for the fruit? I feel like that point was forgotten.
The dick is extremely important.
One big mystery that's probably going to be important is how Joubin's disease was cured. That was never explained, and I suspect that Kaato's crime had something to do with it.
Chapter 62 of SBR was about when they started the final conflict (Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap). Not that each part has ever had the same length, but if that's a guide, then we are a substantial portion of the way through. We've already found out Josuke's identity, and the main force of the rokakaka gang has been taken out, so the main thing that's left is finding the damn fruit.
Joubin still seems the most likely end villain, if there is one, because he seems to be setting up a lot of things (getting Kaato for support, and feeding the strange rock man fried chicken), which means that we've got at least a couple arcs in the way before we touch him again. There's a lot of things that imply he's probably a rock person, too, which I think might tie into his cure, and his current arrangements. And we still don't know why he's hiding all of this from his son, either.
General feelings on the story: this is a lot better and more engaging than I first thought. This is also the first Jojo I've done on the serial read, and probably one of the more confusing ones to do it for, so I wasn't sure how to feel. The story, though, continues what SBR was doing in having a much better story focus than anything before it. About every arc so far, besides Shakedown Street and the Milagro Man have advanced the plot in one way or another, and it's an engaging and well-paced plot to follow. The stand battles are some of the lowest-powered ones in the series, and while some are pretty unmemorable, it's definitely made for some intriguing encounters. The beetle battle is still probably my favorite, with Shakedown Street, Vitamin C, and I Am a Rock being good runner ups. If I had to place this part among the others from what I've seen, I think it would come in third or forth. The plot and flow put it ahead of the rest, but it falls behind other parts in terms of most characters and encounters.
As a Jojo, Josuke is an interesting one. He's got a fun and sometimes unpredictable personality, a cool mystery backstory, and is maybe the second least moral one after Johnny. He's probably a top 3 protag for me, with Johnny and Joseph. My main knock on him is that I think he can be boring in battle. He's too cool under pressure sometimes, which is the problem that Girono and Jotaro have. He has way more too him beyond that, though, and that pushes him ahead.[/hide]
-
Kaato being expected to die for her son, and instead decided to live for him, and sacrifice someone else for him, would make for an interesting dynamic.
-
I've got money on Caato being the final boss, she seems to have it more together than Jobin (who has spent the past three chapters shitting his pants at the thought of Gappy finding him).
Also, Card Stand seems like it could translate to a better fight than Speed King.
-
Jobin seems like he'll topple like a house of cards in a storm when Gappy actually finds him
Caato we barely know anything about her true capabilities also I want a kickass evil mom as the main villain of a Part GODDAMMIT
-
I don't think Caato would be it, since the ways she's brought in seems secondary to Joubin, since he called her to the house, likely as an ally. Also Joubin def has more narrative interest just by default (a first born Higashikata that must have suffered the curse with a child that's about to undergo it).
I'm not sure Joubin is the main villain, either, but Caato seems even less likely to me.
One theory that I thought was cool, was if the villain ends up being another fused human. As in, we don't have a villain yet, but what if a couple of antags we see end up beaten and fuse themselves as a last ditch effort, or end up getting buried coincidentally. Dunno how likely it is, but it seems like a fun idea, and a way of getting more from the generally low-powered part 8 stands.

Caato has the same eyes as Gappy
if anyone here is a fused person, it would be her

So would she have four ovaries? Or just have two testicles on the side if she fused with a guy?

Got an image for that? I must have missed it.

For those of you who just want to know the time stamp
! 21:30 for the sirens of Justice to ring
! Also they should open next week's episode with Kira getting away and then work from there -
Yessss this has been so epic animated, but it's sad that next week is the last episode. I'll have to go through all the episodes again at a later time where I am not waiting week to week to see them.
-
I totally forgot about the panty guy, his death (or even, his whole role in that scene) was unfitting.
BTW, I liked the passing of this episode, more than the previous.
-
Doppios reaction was as big as Rohans.
Stone Ocean characters got no reaction…
-
Whoa. That crowd is insane. As is the length of that trailer.
-
Why are we reacting to a three year old trailer
did ASB get announced for PS4 or something -
I think that was from three years ago.
-
Im positive Vento Aureo is going to have a bugger budget than DIU, considering the popularity it has in Japan.
39 episodes would work better than it did for DIU.
Im still disappointed they cut it out short Rohan vs Josuke dice game.

I can't decide if I prefer Dio VS Jotaro or Josuke VS Kira as the final fight in Part 3 and 4 respectively. In my opinion, psychologically, Kira VS Josuke is better but I can't say I like it better than Dio VS Jotaro at least anime wise. Maybe I just enjoy hearing Dio screaming "MUDA MUDA" too much. Suppose it's about even.

! Well, I thought doing a reread would help make this easier to understand, but… what the fuck is going on in the beginning, haha. We've got Jojo zombies to deal with now, so that's a thing. And Joubin's showing an interest in the powers of the new Rokakaka, which I think gives a little credence to the 'Joubin will fuse with someone' theories. As with any Jojo, real curious to see how this plays out.

Man. What a way to star a chapter….Talking about Blue Lagoon.
Is this the time to get a Stand named after a Michael Jackson's hit?
-
Well it is about time we got another stand named after a Blackspoitation hero.
-
Susuuuu agyaaaaah bugyun dipi gagyagiiiiiiiii~
That's how zombies sound in JoJo.

Goodbye Morioh.

Diamond is Unbreakable ended way too quickly. :(
Any word on Vento Aureo?

Man, that was just a great ride and I will miss Morioh. Sad to know that this will be the last appearances of the best two Jojos so far (as an anime-only watcher).Diamond is Unbreakable ended way too quickly. :(
Any word on Vento Aureo?
Nothing as of yet, but there is a Jojo special event in February. An announcement seems very likely there.
