A while ago, Gungho (the puzzle x dragon bazillionaires) bought out Game Arts, the company that - amongst other things - made the Grandia series, which for me has the finest JRPG battle system ever devised, with the first game - Grandia - being flat out one of the greatest RPG's ever, and its first sequel, Grandia 2 isn't far behind on that score.

to gauge the interest in porting Grandia, Lunar and their other properties to PC, so if you're interested I suggest you fill it in - be sure to choose "DRM" as one of the features you're interested in, and GOG as one of the stores you use, as choosing these will increase the chances of it arriving drm-free to whatever platforms they eventually go with.

Well, if darkstorm recommends it, sure. It only takes about 1 minute to fill out.

Odd that they would use "DRM" instead of "DRM free" though.

Yeah, it's pretty counter-intuitive. A gungho rep confirmed that they take anyone who chooses it as one of the features they want as support for being drm-free though

On August the 24th, Grandia 2 turns up on both steam and gog for $15(apparently a limited price before going up to $20)

It seems like this is a port done right - gungho say they're using the superior DC version as their base, not the poor original pc port. Dual audio and apparently 16:9 widescreen with improved visuals - we haven't seen any screens with this yet though (GS say they have some, but theirs are clearly from the original release, which gungho have since confirmed).

Really psyched for this if it is the definitive port gungho claim it to be. It's a fantastic game and one that every JRPG fan should have.

Grandia 2 has my favorite RPG battle system! Glad to see it getting some love!

Both the first two Grandias are great. 1 for the epic story, 2 for the characters (and decent story that plays with the genre conventions.)

3 had the best and most refined combat, but the story and characters were pretty weak, I have no real desire to go back to it.
