Too many similarities:
1-Oars Jr vs Whitebeard Jr
2-Hogback vs Miss Bucking
3-Whitebeard Jr took Moria's position in the Shikibukai (too many coincidences)
4-A long time ago, Moria met a master doctor/surgeon named Miss Bucking. She was a master surgeon capable of rejoining body and dead parts. She became Moria doctor in his ship.
5-Miss Bucking obliged Moria to become Shickibukai so she can "hunt" pirates for money and freedom from the WG.
6-After his defeat with Kaidou and all his crew wipeout Miss Bucking left seeking for another "stronger" pirate to win money and a better crew.
7-Moria left with Absalom and Perona and wanted to "find" another doctor. Miss Bucking told him about Doctor Hogback an old student she had, one of the best she had.
8-Hogback was a doctor and not a pirate. The only way Moria had to take Hogback in his side was to "kill" Cindry. Moria "killed" Cindry and asked him if he wanted to join him and "ressurect" his beloved one.
9-Luffy defeated Moria. He wanted after that, not to create the biggest zombie army, but to take the best corpses available of the strongest pirates.
10-After the War, Moria hide from the WG in the shadows and met again with Miss Bucking.
11- He told her his new "plan". To create the definitive zombie "Whitebeard" in other to destroy Kaidou and WG. He went to the tomb, stole his weapon and found a way to ressurrect him with Miss Bucking ability.
12-Whitebeard Jr was too powerful to be controled by Moria and he was manipulated by Miss Bucking in order to win more money hunting pirates. He's the definitive pirate hunter. Miss Bucking ordered Whitebeard Jr to join Shikibukai so she can freely defeat pirates and do what she wants without having the WG controling her.
13-Ace body was too damaged to be "resurrected" (or maybe not)…
14-Moria will appear or in Blackbeard arc or in Kaidou arc. I prefer Kaidou because he was his supreme rival... HE WANTS REVENGE!
15-After that, Moria will help Luffy to defeat Kaidou and Whitebeard Jr...
Problem: we can see Weevil out in the sun.

Seems plausable that it has SOMETHING to do with Moria at least. The stitches on Whitebeard Jr seem too zombie-esque to me.

On the flip side, this chapter did make me laugh, because of Barty's crew. They're using the hail to get rid of gum on the deck, they call a Granny for navigation advice.....XD
I'm pumped to see what kind of adventures wait on this giant elephant. Holy f**k Oda, your crazy ideas know no bounds.

Weebel/weevil is obviously not WBs son and is being tricked by his other mother who may not be his mother in the 1st place. Excited for him to become an ally.

Anyway props to him for marking a connection between Luffy and Marco.
Concept of Zou is too much for my tastes however. I hope there is explaination for this and also that it isn't the thing we saw after TB arc. Wouldn't make sense that the elephand crossed GL. -

And Dressrosa wasn't fleshed out? with references to Spain, Italy, their own "animals" like you said with the Fighting fish, their own race(dwarves) and other fauna with Green bit.
?I felt like Dressrosa was at the same time bloated and hollow. Even though the Strawhats spent pretty small amounts of time in each town they went to in Alabasta, you still got a pretty good sense of where everything was in relation to everything else. In Dressrosa they introduced the island as though it had several cities, villages and an expansive countryside. During the birdcage, it just diminished because you lost the sense of what was where and how big it was. If you look at the widescope picture of Dressrosa during the birdcage, it just looks like a Metropol and apart from the Flowerhill it seems like there is nothing except for buildings.

His design might not look like much, but a 480M frozen bounty and an endorsement of strength from Borsalino is nothing to be sniffed at.
Also, I already enjoy his antics.

People seem to easily forget how bland and "fodder-like" both Roger and Teach designs are.
Yeah, cool looking characters are usually important and strong, it doesn't mean an ugly one that looks nothing special is fodder… this is one of the best things in OP.

Maybe he's pathetic on purpose. Maybe he'll come after Luffy (like he said he would) and it won't even be a real fight. Luffy will just One-Hit K.O. him or something.
I don't know what would be the point in that but…. well, Oda sorta did gain my trust over the last 12 years. I'm sure this thing about Whitebeard Jr. will turn out fine. -
Upon re-reading the chapter a few times now… the fangasming of a new One Piece chapter has settled a bit so I can be a bit less baias.

I don't think the guy was even really worrying about how strong Weevil is going to be, just how he looks.
I think everyone had the expectation that the 7th Shichibukai would be a stone cold killer, from what we've heard in connection with him and Z.
I'm totally fine with the goofy design though, it really is very One Piece.

Obviously he is ridiculously strong, he wouldn't be a Shichibukai, and a solo one at that if he wasn't. The guy is going around slaying all the Whitebeard pirates by himself and looks like they hardly touch him if we assume those scars and stitching aren't recent.
I'm just mad about his appearance and "character."
I say feed him to Kaido.

I like how we have Edward Weeble acting in the same light as Demalo Black albeit he actually has a reputation and strength to back up his supposed lies.
And lol, classic Kizaru nonchalantly clipping his nails whilst talking about an individual wreaking havoc slaughtering well known crews using strength matching a young Whitebeard in his prime.
And Zou looks quite interesting indeed. I can not wait to see who the foes are for this arc.

And like fourth highest of all-time. And to reiterate, this is his frozen bounty.
The list of people who have/had these kind of active bounties include Law, Kidd, Luffy, Ace, and Jinbei.
And people with a couple of hundred million less include DD, Kuma, Apoo, Hawkins and Moriah. Just let that sink in.

I mean I get it, almost all bizarre and odd things originate from some devil fruit, except for some odd exceptions like Poseidon, but it would be cool if there was actually a giant 1000 years old elephant
And I already like Whitebeard's 'son', it's designs like these that make me appreciate One Piece a little more than some other manga, not always catering to some ideal of a badass character and just busting out the silly stuff
Edit: btw, since people talk about it, what would hinder Moria or anybody else to take the bodies of Ace and Whitebeard. Is there always some strong guy standing guard or what? They would make the strongest possible zombies. -

What I am excited about are the prospects of what this elephant knows; we all know the saying "An Elephant never forgets." Being over 1000 years old, the Zou Elephant must have some valuable information, especially about the Void Century. Luckly we have Chopper to translate for us.

We've already seen the tomb post-timeskip. It was not vandalized and the weapon is still there.

I was hoping that the shichibukais' roles were mostly phased out as "allies" or former enemies of the SHs, and hoping for more of a focus on emperors/marine admirals. Hopefully this new fake son of Whitebeard will not be more than just a 'Duval' encounter where he gets beaten and then becomes an asset (albeit more important than Duval) of the SHs. The fact that he is claimed to be so strong may cause him to be quite important for the story, which I don't really know how I feel about.
If it means that Marco & crew gets reintroduced then I am all for it, but if it means that the encounter with Kaidou gets heavily delayed then I am going to be a bit sad. -
I really enjoyed the crew interactions and the adventure and world-building stuff this chapter. The series has been neglecting it's adventure part quite a bit, those sections have been very quick these past few arcs. I hope the story dedicates some time to exploring the place more.
