Wow, I never would have figured out that since the giants are from Elbaf, they're almost certainly honorable men. Or at least, that's the way I remember Elbaf being described before.

Anyone have any thoughts who that could be in the cover story appearing in front of mr. 3's ship? It looks a lot like Lucci, i cant think of another character that dresses like that and wears a top hat, but it couldn't be Lucci in the cover story, because he's in the main story heh.

What a frigging awesome chapter. The ONLY thing I'm dissapointed by is that Oda didn't base the designs for the giants off of someone in the background in their flashback. He usually does that. I guess he didn't on purpose so we couldn't guess they were connected to Dorey and Brogey but still it woulda been neat. This teaches you one thing. never lie to a giant or there'll be hell to pay.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND, looks like Galley-La may have a chance to strike back at the forefront. TOTALLY unexpected. Oda is handling this amazingly well. What a terrific chapter. SO GOOD!

Cool, the group lose their second biggest strength only to gain two new reinforcement! Heh, sometimes its good to have connections. So the ball still in the Straw Hats court. But now we got a new enemy deal with, the fight still on against Blueno (knew that attack wasn't going to finish him that easily), and Franky and Robin are still locked up. More of a setup chapter but moves the story along, so no complaints. Guess nex chap will continue the Luffy/Blueno fight.

I have said once before, and I have to say it again. "This chapter disappointed me." Sorry about it.
Although let those two giants turned their sde sound interesting, but in a logic way, it makes no sense. Come on, for one hundred years, none of the giant pirates have ever thought about checking little garden? Were your guys all forgot when and where your bosses start to argue and duel each other? This is not only stupid, but also seems like giants have short turn memory loss problem.
If there is a good explaination, I will say maybe these two giant guards were very young when Dolly and Brokki lead their pirate group. Since they were very famous (as for the record, no one could stop them), the two young giant boys claimed that they want to join them one day. But somehow the two giant captains started the duel and lost contact with the villiage for about one year or even longer. The two boys started to worry about, and were persuaded by the government. When the boys left, the rest of the giant pirate tribe finally got tired of waiting the end of the dueling and came back. They just miss each other. If the story is like this, that could make sense. Otherwise I would really say giants have short turn memory loss problem, it is stupid to recruit them as door guards. Also Ussop has no solid evidence except his word, that is even worse. How could those two believed his story so easily without thinking? The giants were not the reader out side the frame, could this mean is it possible if the government can make some fake evidences, they will turn their side again?
Otherwise, I hate more and more new "weak" characters showing up (11 juries). I know the is the entrance of the government, but come on, it is really making the story lame. We all just want to see the big fight, not like this! If Mr. Oda keep doing this, it will be very hard for me to believe that Luffy and his friends can win all the battle at the end. They will become exhausted and tired when they faced endless enemies. Also don't forget, it is midnight right now! Even they won the battle with CP9, I predicted they will fall sleep when they think they end everything. And the next day, everyone get caught and set to Impel Down!
Maybe I shouldn't argue that much, but since I have been wainting the climax of this arc so long, and it seems endless to me now, maybe I should quit reading those stuff for like three months or longer, then I can go back to see the whole story. That might be a better idea.

Jjimmy, if you haven't noticed by now the giants aren't the smartest fellows out there. Simple minded warriors. Doesn't the giants helping Strew Hats make the story more believable, actually?

Also for the giants.
I know giants were not smart. But come on! In the flash back, all the giants should know where their bosses go when they mensioned about the two giant sea monsters they killed and left on little garden. So the only good explaination is they have short turn memory loss problem, otherwise the only possible explaination will be those two were not in the same group with Dorry and Brokki when the duel started.

Did you even read the chapter? Usopp could name what weapons they used, how they laughed and even their moves. What better proof is that from a teenager who (and this is where you can tell me how great I am for proving this) would never have been able to meet the giants because they were supposedly captured so long ago AND would have had no chance of meeting them if the Govt. had them.

And them working for the Govt. to free their supposedly captured captains makes perfect sense in a manga world. They're ideal characters that would do anything for their captains. Now evidently, Marines/Govt do have some way of 'detaining' giants since they were able to speak to the two. If they could fall it'd be logical the Marines/Govt. could take down other giants. They love their captain and would do what's necessary for him.

I know it will be really hard for Ussop to show any solid evidence from a giant. (he would totally be crashed down if he tries to hold his master's axe) But in the other hand, giants aren't that smart to tell the difference between a lie or a true. So the only problem now will be does the government ever prepare about this kind of situation? In a logic way, I will believe there should be some researchers tried to investigate their weapons or imitating the laughing if the giants want to ask the stasis of their bosses. They can be persuaded by a stranger who is one of the attackers tonight, how could the government never think about this since they have handled them for one hundred years?
But again, it has been one hundred years, maybe the government don't bother about that any more. So somehow, maybe I am too hard on it, I am too hard to see things come out that easily.
BTW: No body can stop the giant? I am really kind of doubting this theory now, since those two guards were just beaten by Franky family (a bunch of losers) and Gally-La (three tough fighters who forgot to wear a mask. If I am the government agent, I am going to let Iceberg in big trouble) before.

Aside from the new enemies, everyone we've seen has strength only in numbers. They're a force that can easily, by virtue of their size, sweep through the thousands on agents and marines. Of course they can/will/should be taken down at some point to split up the crew as is necessary.
Why I'm particularly impressed is that while Oda is slowly taking the group apart (as always and should be) he's actually ADDING to it here what he takes away which is unbelievable considering what he has to do later.
I dunno if any of you can comprehend how amazing that is but just think about how he logically must split the members up for their final battles and it's just…really it's hard to put into words. I think he's a masochist or something.

Well those bunch of losers and three tough fighters already took out a whole lot of the marines…so it can be believable that these two giants can deal with most of the whole Enies Lobby.

Can´t argue much about the chapter since I don´t have a translation but what I see so far is awesome.
However the silhouette character is Bon Kurei IMO. Just check the title page of chapter 374 and look at the person on the far right. To me this guy looks like Mr. 2 who´s wearing Miss Goldenweeks original robe and if you compare it to the silhouette guy it would actually fit perfectly. Well of course nothing´s set in stone so far but I´m betting my money on Bon-chan and I would be pretty surprised if it doesn´t turn out to be him.

^In this point. Come on, they are the biggest enemies 100 years ago(Maybe even stonger than Roger later.), and nobody want to investigate them that time? I would really believe that Dorry and Brokki's laughing become someone's nightmare that time. So there should have been some records about giants stuff. So if the governmnet really care about using those giants, it will become a boring argument between a teenagers who claims he has seen them before (we all know this is truth) and the evil (justice?) govermnet DA/lawyer who has a bunch of "fake" solid evidences (based on 100 years research). Then the giants will become confused, and we don't even care about what CP9 are doing OTL. Nanh, that is too boring and too far. Just forget aboit what I have said. Reader shouldn't use too much brain on One Piece.
BTW: the biggest problem should be Mr.3. He has Dorry and Brokki bounties information, which means the government never cancel the bounties. It seems like the giants would be really stupid if they know the bounties are still there.
