I thought this forum has a lot of Marvel fans, so was kinda surprised that no one has ever made this thread.

Marvel Heroes 2015 is an Action RPG game made by David Brevik (the creator of Diablo 2). So its basically Diablo 2 revamped with Marvel characters set in the Marvel Universe.

Its a Free-to-Play game that I think really stay true to its concept and try their hardest to not turn it into a Pay-to-Win. So the money that players spend will have mostly cosmetic effects (costumes, pets, etc), and not affect character's performance. The only way to build ur character is to grind for loots and skill build optimizations.

As of now, they have around 45-ish heroes and thats not including Team-Ups (this game's equivalent of Mercenaries in D2).

Anyway. Enough marketing stuff, I've played this game for a couple of months and I can tell u its awesome. The character diversity is great (with 45 heroes, it kinda will be), the gameplay is well…. Diablo. So I'd like to think of this as how David Brevik imagines D3 should've been.

But what I think makes this game shines the most is probably how the developers interact with the player base, they actually listen to what the players think n wants. It kinda makes u feel more involved in this game when u give feedbacks & suggestions and they respond to it.

Not to familiar with the new stuff going on. I haven't even beaten the base story yet (that kind of tells you how often I play lol)

LOL. Yes it does. U'd prolly want to check it out again once AoU hits, cause I think they have a lot of things planned for it.

From what I understand Hawkeye is op too you can solo the Dr.Doom final boss fight with him or something

Well… Yes, and no. They've had a major rework on the game, hence the "2015". Call it an expansion if u will. I didn't play it when it was still called Marvel Heroes, but from what I've heard from the older players, its very different now (the final "boss" is no longer Doom, turns out Loki took advantage of his scheme and he's the final boss now).

I use quotes on boss cause since they've introduced raids, there are new "bosses": Surtur in Muspelheim, and Red Onslaught. For those of u not familiar: Muspelheim is one of the nine realms that is a fiery, hellish world led by Surtur. And Red Onslaught is basically Red Skull becoming Onslaught.

Storm n Hawkeye is no longer OP, the God-tier title now belongs to Capt. America, Venom n Hulk. Hero balance is one of the things this game is still trying to fix.

I played this game a few month (played Spider-Man) and i must say I am not going to play it again because even if it is f2p it is set up to spend money if you don't want frustration.

Hmmm. Not sure what the "spend money if u dont want frustration" is about. Cause I've spent money there as well to buy STASH tabs, cause yeah… Getting all those loots with not enough space to keep them is frustrating. (In fact the developers admitted that STASH tabs purchase is their main, steady income)

I played at launch came back when the Asgard patch came out but then stopped again, something that really pissed me of was colecting Eternity Splinters twice and getting twice a freaking Scarlet Witch which I already had, how the heck in so many heroes I got her twice but yeah haven't played much in months.

Didn't remember what it exactly was, thanks for reminding me. Yes, STASH is one of the main reasons why I think the game is build around frustration in order to get you to spend money. I don't think it's fair, so I stopped playing.

I really like Marvel, but..How bad is the pay2win factor of this game ? Because I already play LoL and MPQ, so I don´t want to spend any more money with games.

And I think you have to buy a bundle to get Gamora, am I right ?

Well when I was playing it wasn't really very pvp oriented PVP was on beta I believe so I dont know how much pay2win it is now.

They a little greedy always trying to sell packs and packs and packs of characters and skins and "buy this pack and you get all the heroes that come out this year" promotions but you can still buy single characters or get them by luck which like I said above atleast for me I wasn't very lucky, Gamora isn't playable yet nor is planned to be from the upcoming characters list they have on the forum, she is available as a Team up character though but they weren't out when I was playing so I dont really know how that works but I believe its like an assistant character like an extra party member or something, someone playing the game rigth now can probably help you better with this explanation.

Well, things that u can buy with real money can mostly be bought with the in-game currency: Heroes, team-ups.

The ones that isn't available with in-game currency is mostly costumes (cause unlike other RPG, ur character wont change appearance with equipments, u'd need costumes for that), pets as well (for exclusive pets mostly, the 'regular' ones r still available).

There are some things that u definitely can't buy with in-game currency: STASH Tabs. Which is the inventory space, u get 1 free and thats it. It sucks, but they need to make a living I guess.

I've been playing for abt 4 months or so, and I currently have 17 heroes, 3 Team-Ups, 5 pets, & 2 costumes without spending a dime on them. The only thing I've bought are those inventory spaces, and I'm doing pretty well.

Edit: Gamora is available as a Team-up and if u want her without spending money, u'll just have to be patient and save the in-game currency.

What Oo you have 17 heroes and didnt spend any money to get them Oo, I played for like 3-5 months on and off at the start and I only have like 5 heroes, I'm assuming its a lot easier to get heroes now ?

I think so, I've heard that previously the only way to get them is by token drops (with an abysmal drop-rate). They've changed it so u can buy them with the in-game currency that is guaranteed to drop every 8 mins or so, so all u have to do is play to get them.

Not sure what the current roster is though, might be different from mine. When I started playing it was Black Panther, Black Widow, Colossus, Capt. America, Daredevil, Hawkeye, Human Torch, Punisher, Rocket Racoon, Storm….. Thats all I remember, was abt 10 heroes or sumtin.

Yes when I played Eternity Splinters were out already and like I said I used them two times I got two Scarlet Witches when I already had Scarlet Witch, I assume thats the currenc you are talking about.

Yep. That's the one. And it sucks what happened to u, but my while I have 17 heroes now, I've bought more random boxes than 17 (about.. 22-ish IIRC).

Was kinda hoping that we have a lot of avid players here to create a guild Oh well..

I tried the fighting game they released for iOS/android ~~because Storm got her amazing mohawk look in there~~ and was really frustrating keep getting the same heroes you already had (it's pretty obvious the chance of getting the ones you already have are much higher than new ones). Ended up dropping it after a week because of it.

Marvel heroes is kinda different but yeah, there is a random hero box you can buy for some points but you can get the actual hero you want by getting more points basicly the random box is cheaper but its random so you might get the same hero.

Anyway restarted playing today, leveling my Cyclops its at level 27 right now.

Well, I guess I should tell u a bit abt how it works. The in-game currency used to buy heroes and team-ups are called Eternity Splinters (ES, for short), it's a guaranteed drop every 8 minutes (providing u kill enemies equal or greater than ur current level, so u can't farm on lower difficulties).

The heroes themselves have 3 different price categories: 200, 400, & 600 ES; and there's an option to buy a random hero box for 175 ES. So naturally, if ure new with only a few heroes; the most cost-efficient way is to buy those random boxes until u reach the odds ure uncomfortable with (50-50 for me).

So yeah, since it's all random u can get the same hero twice (or maybe even more). What happened to GetsugaZoro was bad luck (I've had the same hero 3 times, and it was for the one I didn't like, Hawkeye). But it's just the way it is I guess: 22 random boxes, 17 different heroes (out of 46 total) should give u a better idea on the odds.

Just went through the entire roster and their costumes. Got tempted to go back to playing it again. I just wish they had more platforms it could be played on while being cross-platform. I know that's difficult, especially for a F2P game.
