Starting August 18th, the channel HTV3 will broadcast a Vietnamese dub of One Piece. The channel also airs other dubbed versions of animes like Naruto, Sailor Moon, and Fairy Tail.

There is also a pretty good chance that "We Are" will be dubbed, because the channel always dubs the openings of their shows into Vietnamese, regardless if instrumentals are given to them (they recreated their own instrumentals for their versions of "

      " and "
      " from Naruto).

And just as a fun fact, One Piece will now have been dubbed into the following languages as of 2015:

      Albanian
      Arabic
      Basque (Spain)
      Brazilian Portuguese
      Cantonese
      Catalan (Spain)
      Castillian (Spain) Spanish
      English (Three different dubs)
      French (Two different dubs)
      Galician (Spain)
      German
      Greek
      Hebrew
      Hindi (Two different dubs)
      Italian
      Indonesian
      Korean (Two different dubs)
      Latin American Spanish
      Malaysian
      Portuguese (Portugal)
      Russian
      Taiwanese
      Tagalog (Philippines)
      Thai
      Turkish
      Ukrainian
      Valencian (Spain)
      Vietnamese

(28 languages as far I know of 😉

Got to hear the first episode and I must say that the dubbing is pretty good. I am pretty disappointed and surprised that they didn't dub the OP and ED, considering HTV3 always dubs the openings and endings for their shows (they even made a dubbed version of the Narto opening ROCKS complete with new instrumentals). I guess Toei is being very insistant that EVERY dub of One Piece from this point out will feature the original OP and ED, no exceptions, which is pretty stupid in my opinion. Oh well.

–- Update From New Post Merge ---

Also, it would appear that HTV3 was given the Odex masters to work with, since Sanji's cigarette and Smoker's cigars were erased (the Odex dub or better known as the Singaporean dub was slightly edited for the first 52 episodes becuase they aired on TV, and even the first 26 episodes of the VCD release of the dub featured edits too).

Well forget what I said about HTV3 not dubbing the opening and closing. Episode 3 aired today with dubbed versions of We Are and Memories (complete with new instrumentals)!

                            We Are!

                            Memories

Just for some Trivia, We Are has now been dubbed in the following languages:
                            Basque (Spain)
                            Brazilian Portuguese
                            Catalan (Spain)
                            Castillian (Spain) Spanish
                            English (Twice)
                            Galician (Spain)
German (If you count their cover of the 10th Anniversary opening)
                            Greek
                            Hebrew
                            Hindi
                            Latin American Spanish
                            Russian
                            Valencian (Spain)
                            Vietnamese

And Memories in the following languages:
                            Basque (Spain)
                            Brazilian Portuguese

I wonder how popular it will be. I assume they already have the manga over there, right?

Yes, they have had the manga for quite a while, and they are just now getting the anime.

                                  Strange dub of the opening:

-very start doesn't include new instrumental
-the show's aspect ratio has been stretched
-edited logo is in the right ratio
-animation is out of sync with the audio
-additional footage at the end yet 'One Piece' edited out
-some of these edits were made to stretch the intro to 2 minutes?

Toei is sitting on the Special Edition masters suitable for modern HD television, although the cropping debatable, if they want a 16 year old series to flourish they should be attempt to distribute them. Though I don't know Toei and the HD masters might cost significantly more to license.

Just wanted to pop in and say that the dub is now up to episode 170 and shows no signs of letting up.

The dub has been using uncut masters since episode 53 and, as posted above, "Believe" and "Run Run Run" were dubbed, and are still being used up through ep 170.

Here's some links for those who despise facebooks video player (like me).

                                            OP 2:

                                            ED 2:

They also use Gold Roger's narrations for OP 2 & 3, and Luffy's narration for OP 4 , but always cut back to their dubbed version of "Believe" afterwards (I guess they didn't want to dub more songs than they had to).

Also, Film Gold has been dubbed and released in Vietnam in select cinemas.

                                            Here's a trailer
