I learned today that we all suck balls.

My sister is a year younger then me and is a freshmen at a different highschool then me. She had this friend named Andrew and they were cool.

Now this is the part where you say "Oh she has a crush, but he dumps her." Boy good sirs and ladies you are wrong!

Andrew died in a plane crash.

My sister is at the wake. It is a closed coffin. But sad as that may be, she told me something that made me want to kill.

The teachers tell the students to get over it. No big deal. The seniors of the school made paper airplanes and threw them into the wall, making them crash. Why dont you go to his grave, dig up his body, and piss on it?

Seriously, we suck. I hate our society.

That is really sad though I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah people are asses sometimes. There was ALOT of jokes after sep the 11th and Princesse Diana's death's shortly after them.

I have a freaky sense of humore but god, I don't find death funny. Thats really harsh what they said too. People DO die and people DO get over it. Just not right away and theres always a part of you that will grieve [sp] and remember.

**Wow. That's just wrong. Whenever someone dies, pople should respect and remember them. And wish for the best even if they didn't know them. Death happens all over, but it's nothing to laughf about. Them doing that will only make their own lifes more misrsble.

Somehow my meaning of "get over it" is don't be in despair all the time and slowly accept it in time. But if the teacher was thinking the other way, then I hope he dies in a plane crash and everyone else you did those heartless things.

I have always disliked people as a whole and this just enforces that. Teachers should have a better attitude about this kinda stuff, they're supposed to be the "older, wiser" people.

That's terrible, I'm so sorry for your sister's loss. One of my classmates killed herself when I was in high school, and while I didn't know her personally, I was friends with people who did. The day after it happened, classes were optional for the people who knew her and a lot of people were leaving to go to the memorial service and one of the spoiled, snotty popular girls asked one of the dead girl's friends if she wanted to ditch class and go skiing since they wouldn't get in trouble. Yeah… some people are jerks. They're the ones that are going to look back on their behavior in a few years and feel completely ashamed of themselves, and if they don't, it's best to just ignore them as best as you can anyway.

Well, I am a believer in the "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" philosophy. I don't know those teachers and why they would say something like that, but while they may deserve a good kick in the pants and a reality check, it's not my place to judge what kind of people they are and whether or not they deserve the rest of their lives to be messed up, or their afterlife. We've probably all been jerks and pissed someone off at least once. There's a lot worse people out there to worry about, like murderers and pedophiles and rapists.

That's horrible. Well, from what the seniors did anyways. And I suppose the students and teachers should get over it….. in time. I think they should at least give them some time to mourn or at least just some peace for a while. Why are some people like that? I don't know.

I don't see the big deal.. while it might seem a bit disrespectful the teachers had to do something to reassure all the crying kids. This is not a media circus where more tears equals more newspapers sold so they wanna milk it out, the teachers also have a job to strengthen and mature the minds of the kids. Helping them to deal with these kinds of misfortunes is part of that.

And there are far worse things than people being assholes you know.. if you're gonna lose your faith in humanity over something like that expect a lot of disappointments in the future. In a certain clique of my friends, we sometimes all act like assholes towards each-other, and throw some personal insults with straight faces. It hardens the spirit.

Some people today are geneally oblivious to what goes on around them and the huge impact it has on others. I just don't think people who havn't lost someone close to them can really relate to a situation until it happens, and tend to have one of those idiotic 'as long as it doesn't involve me' attitudes. I think it is really sad that the media has to show horrible events on tv having to do with murder, rape, etc to get peoples attention these days, and most watch it and make sarcastic and cruel comments.

I feel what the seniors did was the worst of all in this case. Mocking the deaths of others is even worse than not acknowledging them. I hope I don't see such inhumane behavior among my fellow seniors next year on my campus… I would feel most ashamed to be in the same class/school as them.

I've meet people like that a lot, and I'm really sorry for your sister's loss.

Yeah, I'm with taboo there. I'm a believer in Christ but I'm not threadjacking.
There are lots of inconsiderate jerks in this world. I would be furious if someone dissed my feelings of mourning a friend's death. But on the other hand, I'm sure there are plenty more people out there that were totally supporting of the family and friends of Andrew then people that were disrespectful. Don't they count for something? Instead of nursing grudges and feelings of hate towards those people and humanity in general, I would hope everyone who does care would get together and create some sort of great memorial for the special people that were lost and just ignore the naysayers.

I can understand what your saying. I really havn't had anything extreemly horrible happen to me/people around me in my lifetime, so my ideas on things may not be as factual as others.

You're not an asshole. I've talked to a lot of people about this before, and have gotten very simmilar responses. Not to mention I live sort of a 'zoned out' life. Ever since school cranked up I have started to sort of walk by everything and still manage to take it all in. I'm such a lazy ass.

This reminds me of a girl that died in my school when I was a sophomore. The whole moral of the school was down, the building just seemed to loom with sadness. And regardless people still paid respect to the dead; but there were still groups of hoodlums who would just use this opportunity to skip out on classes and school and not give a damn about anything. You can't worry about people like that, you simply have no time… if you really care about those kind of people then go to your high school reunions and see what they have done with their lives with that kind of attitude.

Like my mom said, the world is filled with assholes but its your job to not to become one.

Yeah she is still upset. And mind you she didnt know him that well. Like for 3 weeks. If she knew him longer…I would need a lot of tissues.
Last night she was very upset. So upset that she forgot to shower and stuff. This was what I was told. I was exauhsted and fell asleep around 730 pm.

People are often insensitive, brutish, sadistic, vulgar, violent… It's a fact of life, though not one I like to admit. Everyone has their moments, but doing what those kids did just... doesn't make for much sympathy for their cause. They very well could have been attempting some sort of twisted favor for your sister, but more likely, they were just being pricks. I would hope they don't represent the future of this country.
