Yup three more chapters, which means once the break is over so the arc will be.
Chapter 784 : Gear Fourth
-
-
I guess three chapters for the fight is a good estimate but I don't think the ark will end there.
Probably two to four chapters after Doffy is defeated for the after party and whatever else. -
Muhuu!
Crocodile was defeated 14 chapters after Mr1.
Ener 27 after Ohm (21 wtihout the flashback).
Lucci 9 after Kakku.
Moriah 15 after Ryuma. Can you see the pattern ?
! Me neither! Behehehehe!
I would like this fight to go on as Sabo, Koala and Robin get an other fight with Burgess or CP0.
3 revolutionaries vs 3 agents -

And strings can't talk, but they do it anyways in One Piece universe.
Besides, like you would care if it actually happen. Oda has broken many rules and common sense regarding physics already. What's one more?
I missed the original conversation, but let's be clear about physics. Physics purports to describe how our universe works. There is no claim that all possible universes must work in the same ways as ours - laws, constants, even fundamentality is not assured to be the same.
One job of metaphysics is to determine the workings of possible worlds. The big players here are logical and substantive consistency. The one piece universe MAY be consistent for all we know, since we do not know very much One Piece physics. I would argue that anything we have seen can be explained from the perspective of the One Piece world and its laws, but that has a lot to do with law formation - we observe the world, then speculate laws such as to make sense of it; if the law does not make sense of the phenomena, we reject it in favor of one that does.
In short, Oda has broken no rules of "physics" that I am aware of; the OP universe needn't adhere to the same physics as our own. The only way he could break some rule of physics is if OP physics are internally or logically inconsistent.
-
Bringing up real-world hard physics in a shonen manga always leads to hilarious missing of the point.
-
What was this atom thing even about?
What does this have to do with anything?? Confused.
At least tension have to do with Gear 4… -
I'm curious to know if Doffy will die or serve another purpose, he is a big deal after all…
-
@-Pk-:
Yes, but we´ll have a early Chapter next Week. On Wednesday.
So, physical attacks are useless against G 4? I hope that Doffy got some nice String-Cutting Moves, up on his sleeve.
I wonder if there is any Limit with this elasticity against physical attacks. I cant imagine, that a Fist-Attack of Kaidou wouldnt take a effect in Gear 4.Like what law did to vergo armament haki body. If your not on someones level of strength ones tools dont matter.
-
Lol. Fujitora's dragging his butt to impel down. Doflamingo's gonna learn if horizontal stripes suit him or not.
-
How many more chapters do you guys think are left before Doffy is down for the count?
final defeat of doffy, plus the unknown figure in the castle will be in august i guess. So, do not keep your hopes up!.

The same, but he's a magnitude more chaotic evil and sociopathic than Croc ever was.
When he cracks, he's going to crack hard. Who knows if there's going to be enough of him left to put back together after that. -
Now that Lufft is all bouncy and knows moonwalk, I could see him using Bellamy's attack to finish Doffy.
Like how hile beat Lucci, not just the front but from every direction, up, down, left, right, front and back. -

Well many people wants to see physics of our world to work in a Shonen manga, people looking all normal and serious, work of logic and stuff. Unless if you want to turn off your brain and enjoy the show. It's like what people do to Star Trek where logics and physics are often ignored and people complian about that. Often it's a good idea for logic and physics of our world to be in a Shonen manga. I believe Oda did break his own physics sometimes like someone is falling from a tower got hurt but is still alive. Later someone is falling and you must save that person because if he lands he get's killed. How about Moria rising a bunch of zombies in Marineford by stealing shadows from people around him in a broad daylight and brought them up from a field of ice and appears to look like a stitched up animals. There is a book called Inheritance Cycle where is criticized for so many inconsistents, broken logics and physics, just imagine One Piece suffering like that.

@Doffy.:
Didn't realize that writers had to major in physics to tell a story ….............................
I don't know, feels like you're trying too hard just to disagree.
Why is it that every time someone mentions the word physics, there are inevitably "bringing physics into shounen discussion something something" (this one is especially bad, Oda brought in the physics) and "why does Oda need to be a physics major" comments following?
Sure, Oda needs to bend certain laws of physics for this all to work, otherwise there would be a whole lot more of dead people in One Piece, but it's nothing that requires a physics major, of all things, to be aware of.
I won't cry because people survive being absorbed by Blackbeard's black hole (or any of the other numerous examples), but don't know why I shouldn't notice it, or at least mention it.

3 revolutionaries vs 3 agentsInteresting post. Zoro defeated pica 6 chapters ago. The lowest in your list is 9. I could either be 3 or more chapters. I'm hoping for the latter.

Lol. Fujitora's dragging his butt to impel down. Doflamingo's gonna learn if horizontal stripes suit him or not.
Imprisonment is out of the question :/ he either dies, or flees and dies later on. Whereas with some villains after being defeated they have a knack for doing a u-turn, I don't see that happening with the "champion of evil". But then again impel down could be his arkham asylum…where he makes prisoners his bitches and the strong-ish ones his family (because he's deluded like that).
-
Excellent, this supports my theory that admiration for Barristan Selmy is directly correlated with passion for the series.
Ser Barristan is Danaerys's sworn bodyguard and advisor. He's old and wears a white cloak, and he hasn't done much on the show. _Yet_.
oh ok, he's the guy that was dismissed as kings guard for basically no reason and now he advises kalisi. Basically replaced jorah. Also are you saying I don't have passion for OP lol?
-

I can! It's always multiples of 3 (because you have to add Mr 1 to the 14 chapters…) :ninja:
What was this atom thing even about?
What does this have to do with anything??Don't worry about it, it was just a tangent of a tangent, not anything relevant to the chapter.
At least it was a novel argument, though, and not one of the ones that happens over and over and over and over.
-

Doflamingo could start an entire empire in impel down. Have the clone imprisoned and then pull the strings where no one will see.
It's freaking genius.

Because writers are not supposed to be physicist ? Because physics in a shonen series or any other fictional story is irrelevant at best ? Because writers are trying to tell a story not establishing facts about physics ? Because there is something called "suspension of disbelief" ? Because it's 2015 and not 14th century ?
Are you sure you aren't just trying extremely hard to nitpick to the point of nitpicking such irrelevant details as physics ?
-
Are we really debating physics in the same manga where Buggy exists?
-
One Piece was meant to be like an American cartoon, it's physics and logics. No one really like stuff that anymore. Everyone wants it to be real and deep. One Piece is a kind of a series where we must turn off our brains. Why should we do that?

You know Doflamingo is so hax he can get out of them.
How do we know seastone affects a clone

See the first post.

So if we all agree that Zoro is very close (but not quite) to Luffy's strength then doesn't that make him amongst the top 3 supernovas now?
Like Luffy/Kid>Zoro>Law> scratchmen >Hawkins> Killer>X Drake>Capone >Urouge/Bonney
Not saying that's the definitive but it does seem like that's what it looks like right now.
I agree Law is OP with his Ope Ope abilities and could maybe get the jump on Zoro but seriously nothing seems like it can stop the Zoro train, it's so hard to imagine Zoro losing to anyone, it's been THAT long since we've seen him struggle.

Two Words: His Pace.
He can shit talk his way out of anything, he's like the evil version of Ussop.

But the post you were complaining about wasn't nitpicking. If anything, Verus was making the same point as you.
Physics has not been important before. It won't become important now. Hence, the scenario he mentioned is possible.
Others were nitpicking small details in the scenario he mentioned. And even that is not against the author. -
Crocodile must be the defensive tough skinned one, right?
Scales?DragonForce confirmed:ninja:

There was a page when Strawhats gotten to Skypiea I think.
It had words of some page that shown pretty well what Oda thinks about real world physics in his manga.. hmm… I remember something about if you can imagine something it can exist or something like that, have to search for it.With Blackbeard I think that people getting beaten up inside of darkness is Odas metaphor on people getting beaten/ crushed by dark side of life. It would fit a bit with how Blackbeard was shown in SBS as kid. But perhaps thats only my impression.
Btw I was searching a bit today and found this page
http://www.mangareader.net/103-2344-15/one-piece/chapter-237.html
Chapter 237 page 15
Burgess is angry at their "prey" escaping and seems to be really willing to go after them. Perhaps he is really willing to go after Sabo as soon as he sees him? Though Burgess as strong as he is should not be a match for Sabo and I think that Burgess goal is strong Devil Fruit. He possibly went up to the palace to wait till Doflamingo vs Everybody ends and he gets to finish off anybody who is left standing and has Devils Fruit.
Though I am not 100% sure anymore that it was Burgess that Koala was worried about.
Maybe we will get new character? Many people on Dressrosa were turned into toys and forgotten so maybe one of - for example - Kaido commanders gotten to know what Doflamingo is up to, gotten to know some of his valued secrets and then gotten turned into a toy?
We had somebody like Kyros being suprised by Sugar and she almost turned into toys both Luffy and Law in one moment. Perhaps Ussop relased somebody really strong by KOing sugar and that person wants to go at Doflamingo for all those years.
It is not Hakuba, it might be Burgess waiting for good oportunity to take with himself knocked out DF user so he doesnt come back to Blackbeard empty handed. If its Burgess he might take dying Trebol with himself or he might attack Law. That could be the reason why Cabbage is still next to Law, close to top of palace.

Human understands what human knowledge has explained through the ages. Science age right now. If you're implying a fault, then falls on the reader and his motive to think that comprehend something is the same as enjoying it. Dominated by science, obviously.

Next time, how about you actually read what it says in Japanese.
It's translated to bounce man, even the Viz has Bounce man. I don't care about the japanese
-
I don't suspect there will be any party at the end of this arc. Luffy and co. will book it to the next island cause last they heard, the Sanji Pirates were fighting a yonkou's crew.
In my dream, I hope they arrive at the next island, see Big Mom's ship completely destroyed with Sanji (bruised and batter) chillen on it, having a smoke, saying "what took so long?"
-
oh ok, he's the guy that was dismissed as kings guard for basically no reason and now he advises kalisi. Basically replaced jorah. Also are you saying I don't have passion for OP lol?
The more you read/reread the books the clearer it becomes what an awesome character Barristan Selmy is. Much of his card-carrying badass status comes in the form of background information and brief memoirs, the sort of thing you focus on in a reread and doesn't come through at all in the TV series. That's all.
I wouldn't presume to belittle your love for One Piece. If you're on apforums you're probably passionate about it in some form or another.
-

If you don't care about the original Japanese, why are you telling people to not use certain versions of the name?

But we all know Loras Tyrell>Barristan Selmy
Loras
! got mortally wounded leading an invasion of Dragonstone.
Barristan went Rambo and rescued Aerys II from Duskendale all by himself.
Loras might be an excellent warrior who's been greatly disserviced by the show, but Barristan Selmy is a living legend.

Luffy's Gear 4th final ultimate technique will be named Super Dreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max
-
Loras
! got mortally wounded leading an invasion of Dragonstone.
I believe that's not confirmed yet. Could very well be true, could not be. Winds will tell us his actual condition.

guys there are some spoilers out are they real?on mangaspoiler confirmed by some baidu pls answer
-
In short, I see CoH as a passive character feature, with some ramifications for the perceptions and beliefs of others, with the foaming mouth thing being one practical applicaion of that. Training that active part requires exertion and use of the passive features.
That is an interesting approach of the subject - I like the notion that power does not necessarily have to manifest itself in the form of flashy moves and great outbursts of special effects. There was indeed this great moment during the Summit War when Mihawk observed that Luffy made allies everywhere he went and how that was really the most dangerous ability in the entire ocean.
However, given the hype Oda has built up around Conquerors and the lack (so far) of emphasis on anything other that "clash" and "foam", it doesn't look like the story is currently headed that way :/

They are legit! NAruto Gaiden Spoilers and Cover of Jump Isse were leaked as well

Didn't realize that writers had to major in physics to tell a story ….............................
That… was actually my point.
What does Oda care by what force atoms are bound together? If he wants to have Fujitora broke them down (which he won't do, because that's broken as all hell), who are we to say that he can't, because nucleonic forces and stuff?
Suspension of disbelief comes into play here.
Though in this day and age, when I can check most fact in seconds (Thanks google!) one would think, it would be prudent to actually try and be somewhat realistic.
