But seriously..
What if she found out that Pink was a pirate, and she bullshitted pink to "save" gimlet from him.
She brought him somewhere else.
It's not confirmed.
Yeah no, Gimlet is dead, sorry.

The "fever" was obviously a side effect of the Smile fruits aimed to brainwash the Kaido army later in the future :ninja:
And now Gimlet is secretly stuck as one of the animal guards in Impel Down
can anyone grab a screen cap of the first page from the Viz release? That cover looks awesome now that it doesn't have Jap text all over, it's just that my monitor is not HD

Because so far it is boring. Literally all she is doing is thunder tempo. For a weapon that manipulates weather, it sure is lacking. She should be able to:
Create gusts of wind, eventually being like that chick in Naruto that fights with wind.
use wind to jump higher, float, whatever. She should have atleast been able to move the clouds to prevent Dofla from chasing them on the sunny.
use thunder tempo in other ways. Oda is creative, he can think of something.
create snow or some type of cold attack. Will oda show more of what she can do? Yes. But that doesnt mean what has been shown so far doesn't suck.
She used Wind Katana in fishman Island. Your comment about moving clouds to prevent mingo is LOL

Not sure what's funny about it, since it's his weakness and she said that's what she'd do if he kept coming.

Doesn't he have geppo to fall back on when he can't use the clouds to attach strings to? (sky road?)

I don't think so. He had to take an alternate route to get to Punk Hazard (which is why he was slowed down), because of clouds.

OK, that's right… I'm curious how you think he managed to slice that tower in half when he went after Kyros. I think it was just the force of his kick.

I took it as just being the force of his kick, yeah.

I'm pretty sure he reinforced the tip of his shoes with some tough-ass strings. If not, one can assume that he knows Rankyaku, which I doubt.
I don't understand your logic, it's already been said that it's going to be a full scale war that encompasses the entire world, battles on all fronts, it won't be randomly secluded to one island for no apparent reason
there'll be many sides, lots of divisions of power, like people said what they're doing here in Dressrosa will no doubt help them with allies in the finale, I'd bet even the Strawhats themselves will be split up into several divisions on different islands with multiple allies
wonder who Bartolomeo and Casvendish will be grouped up with
Never said it won't, we will definedly get glimpses of stuff happening around the world in the view of their friends and random revos, but the finale will definedly focus in the events at Marijoa which is the only front that matters.
It's been Dragon's goal from the start to attack there and now Luffy and Teach are giving him a chance and the rest of the big guys will follow.
They also won't just randomly split into around the world when their goal is to take down Blackbeard Pirates. Although, I guess it's possible they get some hi-tech teleporters from Raftel and go arms race for the ancient weapons…Nah.
@Lao:

Rankyaku is simply a fast kick that's powerful enough to produce a compressed air blade.
This is stated by Kalifa.
It's not unlike Zoro's pound cannon.
Hope DD won't be defeated with the "your shoes are untied" trick… Or something dumb but with a legit and cruel (Lucci style) fight.

God, and his right and left hands
I suppose after this incident, Usopp's bounty would surpass Zoro's. He's got an army, all are afraid of that.
I was looking forward for the chapter and then suddenly i realized that we have a break this week:sad:..

Buggy and Foxy, the only main villians defeated by a dumb trick or coincidence.
I'm getting the need of making a montage of luffy defeating villians.
Why someone would say something like this, it's the same league of saying "I hope nami doesn't die" not only dumb, and impossible in the context, but without any precedent.
Doflamingo will be defeated by the sun, when it finally hits his eyes after his sunglasses fall off.
@Galaxy:

If by sun you mean Nipple Lights, I accept your statement.
Doflamingo obviously will slip on a banana peel Trebol threw on the fall and break his neck while tumbling down the plateau eventually reaching his bird cage where he will be sliced into pieces.
The End.
that Dofla fight might end up being like 10 chapters. Watch there be another flashback lol
@Cyan:
Yeah no, Gimlet is dead, sorry.
Thank you Oda for your confirmation.

Doflamingo will be taken out in one chapter. That's the trend this arc. :ninja:

I think i remember a whole debate on this with Dofla being able to use Rankyaku.
The force of his kick (not being rankyaku) sounds beastly. I can accept that.

Did you really want Oda to outright Nationwide the kid?
Whats that mean??
Thank you Oda for your confirmation.
Gimlet being secretly alive would serve no narrative purpose and be really stupid, sorry.

Well Pink and Franky are going to have a drink and talk about what "happened" so it said..
There might be a story behind it. IMO I don't think he's "secretly alive", infact he could be right in front of us (Sanji).
I mean, Look at how Pink dresses up, his fashion style.
Yeah it might actually not be the case because the thing against this are the years and time of events.
Maybe it just isn't, oh well..

I've just heard so many stories of wives claiming that their children are dead to their husbands, but they actually took them somewhere else to some sort of foster parents in a different location in order to "protect" their child from their fathers life.
But that's just me.
Sanji is twenty one years old, and this stuff takes place after the Corazon flashback (which was 16 years ago).

Yes, this exists in some works of fiction.
Doesn't mean it applies here, because it would hold no plot significance.

Exactly why i mentioned it.
I always refer to dates when creating a theory, and I just remembered this which in turn made it implausible.
It's what also ruled out with Sabo being Doflamingos brother.
The events that have taken place and the age difference makes it impossible.
What narrative purpose would the dead person in a flunkie's mini-flashback turning out not to be dead serve.

There was a lot more that destroyed that delusion than the timeline.

Yea, I guess after I looked at it chronologically, yea this seems to be the case.
It's what also ruled out with Sabo being Doflamingos brother.
Age problems aren't the only thing that make this silly.
Edit: Cyan beat me to it!
Jesus christ now I'm remembering all the asinine speculation about Sabo's stepbrother there was years ago.

Totally agree. Always said DD weak spot is his

I've been trying to figure out Rocinente's timeline with the family; He was seperated from Dofla at what age? From the way they're drawn anywhere between 8 and 12? Then he (unless totally mislead by bad translation here) started a family, so we'll say anywhere between 6 and 10 years, before being asked by the navy to rejoin the family? Then he served with them for how long until he was killed by Dofla?

That The Genius Stelly was Barto or was there another kerfuffle? That's a fave wrong theory of mine, mainly because Stelly seemed insulting without malice, which suits the grown-up cannibal. Plus him worshipping Luffy was nicely ironic.
Stelly reappearing seems to be only a matter of time anyway.
Lol Gimlet nor Senior Pink are important enough to warrant Gimlet being alive. Seriously….
And pretty sure Doflamingo used a string at the toe of his shoe to slice the building like that.

Left Doflamingo at 8, infiltrated his crew at 22. He was gone for 14 years.
I believe Rosinante was 2 years younger than Doflamingo (I might be wrong) but based on that and the fact that we know Doflamingo is 41 currently, we can figure out that Rosinante met Law when he was ~23, died at 25 (1/2). So he wasn't with Doflamingo for too long, ~3 years before he left with Law.

So… just like Pell?
So… just like Pell?
Oh please not Pell. If any moment in One Piece I hated it was that, but eh, it's One Piece.

Just pointing out that there exists precedent of Oda "resurrecting" a person for little reason then other than a happy ending.
So… just like Pell?
Gimlett dying was a huge part of Pink's life and led to him being who he is.
Bringing him back would cheapen Pink's last connection to his catatonic wife, and as such would lessen the whole story surrounding him.
Bringing Pell back didn't really change anything at all.
Oh my god why do people still care about Pell.

Good then that Oda only brought back Sabo and didnt linked it with bringing up Ace in any way..
Oh wait..
Just passing by and sharing my dislike for Sabo.
Gimlett will stay dead of course. More needed characters that died and made One Piece world what it is wont be brought back.
Only possibility would be if Pinks wife lied(0.00000001 % chance) about Gimletts death.
I think it's just a matter of Oda not wanting to draw a dead/dying baby, so we never had "confirmation" of his death, and expect a plot twist.
We are expecting to see things like Sanji's, Nami's and Franky's parents appear in the plot (which, by the way, might never happen), so we try to fit them everywhere in the story. I think it's really safe to assume Gimlet is dead. It's like trying to discover the identity of Baby 5's mother just because she was never drawn. It's not necessarily a mistery, just things Oda thought we didn't need to see (like a dead Gimlet)
Good then that Oda only brought back Sabo and didnt linked it with bringing up Ace in any way..
Oh wait..
We knew Ace for a long time before we ever found out about Sabo.
He was defined by his relationships with Luffy and Whitebeard, not Sabo.
We didn't even find out about Sabo (in passing at that) until Ace was on the verge of death.
So yeah…my point stands.
