Chapter 775: Love for Lucien
-
-
I nominate Senor Pink for a cover story of his own. Still want to know his and other members' reason for being in the family.
-
-
…that is just about the most unfortunate way you could botch a chapter-title translation.
Senor Pink is the man. Overall I think the Doffy family members have been somewhat dissapointing, but Pink stands head and shoulders above the rest. Hard Boiled indeed.
Also, Franky with a Terminator eye is hella cool to see. Also, Zoro looks happy in the spread! Nice to finally see him snap out of his usual Perpetual Frown/Lucci modes.
The Mansherry stuff is ridiculous tho.
-
Why did Jora came to the conclusion that Monsheri could "heal" the factory, after the tears?
Nothing happened there, other than the tears, did the ground repair itself? And the condition of "Sacrificing Lifespawn", why did she come to that conclusion?
But I'm looking forward to her crawling around with half the family and minions sewed to her.
-
Such a touching story. Almost made me forgot how boring the fight was. But yeah, men will be men.
I like how Franky wants them to catch up over a drink in the future.
Senor Pink is the coolest guy! :ninja:

Pretty sure she knew everything except for the tears' healing power beforehand.

Yeah, felt like I missed a half of previous chapter or something. Came out of nowhere.
-
SENOOOOOOOOORRRRR!
-
What about the last quote "too early for little Gimlett"?
-
Oh so much manliness! Just boldheaded senseless and moronic impulses at the risk of life, mission and friendship for no other reason than for the sake of manhood. I can't be mad, this was the most manly chapter since Whitebeard died standing. I nominate Senior Pink for a cover story of his own now. Hands down my favourite in the DD family now.
-
I also don't get the Jora part. And if she already knew more beforehand, how did she know it, when did she learn it and why didn't she tell it to Doffy earlier?
-

Biggest mistake ever is to use Mangapanda's trans … (facepalm)

Great chapter.
Looking forward what Oda brings up after that.
Also that Suplex thing over and over again was used by Pink because he knew all along that Frankys back is made out of flesh and not steel..
Now if Doflamingo gets to know how many officers already lost and that Smile Factory is most likely getting destroyed he will most likely send Trebol down in few chapters.
-
Hmm… I didn't care for the first two pages. At all.
And if Rikus will ask Mansherry to restore their country at the cost of her own lifespan, I sure as hell will call them out on it. You want to be moral? Then get used to manual labour.
Or giving first aid to people instead of sitting on yer asses.
Other than that, excellent chapter. Fights are well drawn, conversations between Franky and Pink have a certain charm to them, as well as a bit of badass, and his character backstory is really nice, if a bit cliched.
I still don't get why he would work with psychopaths for a psychopath, but hey, you can't have everything.
Also, Kudos to Oda for actually making Lucien distinct and outside of his usual pattern of female faces.
-
Lots of manly tears were shed this chapter.
-
Y'all see the words on the back of Senor Pink's vest? Don't Cry!
!
It seems the only thing he will cry for is his wife and child. :cwy: -
go home guile senor pink is the true family man
-
Well, that sure was underwhelming…
It's nice to see Pink getting further fleshed out, and I enjoy their warped "manly fight", but how the fight was resolved didn't have more to it than "let's do the exact same move one more time, only bigger". Bleh. It's almost to the point where I'm looking forward to reading Bleach
-
Well, that sure was underwhelming…
Well, that sure was the best chapter in the last 365 days…
-
I'm guessing that Lucian died a while before the Dressrosa mission. Between Mr Pink changing his fashion sense and him losing his shape. Or at any point between the start of the mission and the capture of Monsheri. What's next? Gedatsu was physicaly beaten as a child when he didn't do things wrong? Kumadori's mom forced his brothers to comit Sepuku for minor transgresions, and he managed to not piss her off until he got into the "orphan only cp9 academy"? Zeo… Eh, I can't do this to him, he's the only of the new fishman pirates that had any character trait (hammy and ignorable)? The "too much" marine of HQ5 (Smoker's and Vergo's) used to wear the regulated uniform and do things by the book, then everyone that he loved died, and became over the top?
Mr. Pink is a stretch (the diaper was too much), Baby5 was sad, Manboshi and Ryuboshi were unconfortable, but all instances worked, but from now on, whenever a goofy beyond logic character comes along, I won't be able to try and figure out the sad circumstances that brought them to this state.
And back to Senzu Princess, what the family seemed to know was that she produced water (let's say from her fingertips) that could heal people, last chapter they found out that her tears had the same properties, but now Jora acts like Doflamingo must know the new skill list that she found out between tha last time that she was at that room and now, like reparing stuff and exchange life, things that didn't had any hint of, up to that point they didn't knew, and now Doffy must know?
It doesn't make sense.
-
I'm a sucker for this shit. Almost cried like a little bitch, it's such a tragic backstory of a guy going so far, he went crazy because of love.
Still, it shows how dedicated he is to Doflamingo when he never once blamed piracy for being the root of everything that happened to him.

-
those feels man i wasn't expecting that
-
Kya Senior! I wanted to know y he went from suits to pampers didn't expect him to have had a baby boy who died and a vegetable wife….damn
-
Don't know if it was because I just woke up when I read the chapter, but I definitely cried after reaching the Senor Pink back-story pages.
Good chapter all around.
-
Notice the difference between what happens when someone laughs at Señor Pink (the top executives join in), vs what happens when someone laughs at Pica (veins pop, not in "not again, Pica will rampage", but in "how dare you to laugh at our family")
-
! Holy Shit
HOLY Shit
HOLY SHITHands down, best chapter ever!!!!:wub::wub::wub::wub::wub::wub:
Ahem…
I'm going to try to stay calm, but I can't make any promises.
So first off, the reveal of Mansherry's power. I can work with that. Originally I was skeptical about some of the stuff, but I can be okay with the long term stuff. Her powers are still worrisome for this arc, so hopefully it won't come to that.
As far as the rest of the chapter, words cannot start to describe how I felt. I was Giddy with the final attack by Pink, but Damn, the emotional drama that came afterward was something else. As soon as the Baby happened, I was crying, because I knew what was going to come. Like Baby 5, something that is supposed to be a joke is much deeper and darker. The fact that a short flashback like that made him that much more of a character is something. Oda, you did not disappoint.
Loved everything with Franky and Pink. I really want to see a scene at the end with Franky having a drink with Pink.
PINK FOR NN.
-
great chapter!
I can't hold my tears while reading the backstory of Senor Pink and his wife
-
Did oda just give a back story to senior pink's baby attire?wow.
The battle really reminded me of some Japanese wrestling matches were they measure their 'fighting spirits' by chopping each others in the chest for dozens of times..
Also surprised that franky's eyes are modified too. -
Awesome chapter. Thank you Oda.
Senor = best character in this arc.
-
The senzu princess doesn't make any sense, though. It's already bad enough that Oda dropped an instant-heal trope in the story, but now on top of this Jola found out (out of where ? Was it written on her bottom ?) that her power allows to restore the friggin' factory ?! Last time she was supposed to heal wounds, not repair stuff. Come on already, this arc is crowded with haxxed DF.
-
So we pretty much have confirmation that Law's arm will be 'restored' in exchange for the user's lifespan, nothing exciting there. (How does Jora know about this?) That's ALSO confirmation that the state of Dressrosa will be restored too, how convenient.
Color spread and Jump cover look sweet, the finale for Senor Pink was better than expected, very sad!
-
I'll shed manly tears for him and his family as well. :(
Elfman Strauss would be shedding manly tears for Senor Pink. MANLY!
!
-
Man, I'm genuinely moved.
-
Well, that was good chapter and really emotional one too. Interesting to see that there was a reason for his attire after all.
But damn, wasn't Franky supposed to improve himself including no flesh back? I guess he still got to have that weakness… I wonder how strong he'd be if he fought for real and didn't let himself be attacked.
Restoring factory with tears out of nowhere is really weird... maybe it's mistranslation? But that would be kinda weird too to have such translation out of the a... but well it's mangapanda so what do you know?
-
Elfman Strauss would be shedding manly tears for Senor Pink. MANLY!
Those… don't look like tears.. At all.
-
Also, Kudos to Oda for actually making Lucien distinct and outside of his usual pattern of female faces.
Not just the face, but the body.
She's not as busty as Nami or Robin, and more like Kaya there. Noticeable but not extremely huge
But finally…. an adult female that is cute and has freckles! -
It seemed like Franky was laying on his front after Pink's final attack, even though it seemed like he should've been slammed on his back again… sort of confusing how this one was layed out
-
I'm not sure what this limitation on Manshelley's poer effectively does. Guess well find out later in the story.
Mr. Pink. Almost sad their big fight had to end, but the flashback was the perfect point where we needed it. It's been a fight marked by inapprpriateness & silliness and this tragic flashback just underlines the characters and their tragedy.
I'm sure most reading this are going 'cool; finally we move onto the main event fight!" But the last few battle undercards have been far more interesting to me.One week until final card starts!
-
I will remember Luciens cute nose and freckles combo far more clearly than any of Odas last few years worth of namifaces.
Meanwhile Hancock, supposedly the worlds most beautiful woman, needs her outfit to stand out from the crowd. -
One week until final card starts!
Two, actually. The foot note on the last page suggests that what we're getting next week is…a break!
-
I actually cried reading this. The Franky/Senor bond was amazing.. Icant wait to see that talk over drinks..
@King Cannon Based on what we know, Manshelly can use fodder to restore the health of someone. It has to havesome nerf but thats what it is now
-
Oh wow senor. My heart was not ready for this.
-
w00t! i'm at office but i can't keep workin' now that I seen the chapter is out!!
brb! goin to read!
-
@mario:
go home guile senor pink is the true family man
that's really true :(

Hilarious that Mangapanda covered the message that they translated with their logo. :getlost:
-
Am I the only one who had the the feeling, while reading this chapter and the final note, that Franky is Senior's son Gimlett?

I do hope that Kaido wont kill all of Mingo pirates like I expect him to..

How high are you ?
