O.k. Lets say Luffy goes on to find the One Piece and becomes the Pirate King. Who thinks that Oda will finish One Piece, OR choose to have Luffy continue as the Pirate King and help his crew accomplish their dreams or just adventure on till the day he dies?
After Raftel?
-
-
Choice Number 1.
also,i think this belongs in Genaral. -
well i assume their all gonna accomplish their dreams on the way. plus after raftel they might have an end battle type thing then a few prologue episodes showing what they do when the adventure is over.
-
Well I don´t think that there will be any further adventures, but on the other hand I don´t think that the story will end the chapter he finds One Piece. Since the beginning until the finished Arlong arc actually are an intorduction I don´t think that Oda will finish it of rashly. I´m sure that we will have an mindblowing epilogue (that will feature Dragon).
-
Wait A Minute, what did you say?
-
@Comander:
Wait A Minute, what did you say?
I think he means that from the begining to the end of the Arlong Arc was just an introduction for everyone, so the ending will kinda end the way it all began…. er something

Yep that´s what I meant. We had a long introduction so I don´t think we will have an abrupt ending. Especially since it appears that this treasure One Piece is much more then just pure gold and juwels so I think it would require some nice wrap around as ending.
-
sadly i thinl luffy will get excuted and the thing will start over.
-
With Luffy's son!
-
If Luffy will get executed this will be by far the best story that always was written. But somehow I fear that if anything like a protagonist death thing will happen, then it will be somehow vague that leaves to each his own interpretation whether or not he´s still alive.
-
Me too. i think Luffy is going to suffer the same fate as Roger.. and everyone goes there own seperate ways.
Or at the end Shanks and Luffys Crews both head out into the sea together
OR! The Strawhats are sailing awayand say Chopper asks Luffy "Where are we going now?"
Luffy: Where ever the Sea takes us..
and it's a sunset scene!
-
i would prefer the execution after he finds one piece. that would make it very dramatic and establish one piece as the greatest story every. that said, the crew should achieve their dreams one by one before luffy gets one piece. luffy getting one piece should be the very last achievement.
and that said, this goes to general. woooo.
-
Manga spoilers below
well going into eneis lobby and getting out would practically mean that..well how the hell are they ever gonna catch luffy? I mean, if you attack the stronghold and survive i doubt you will be in any danger of getting hit later on. Also luffy is the kind of guy who doesn't lose twice, so thats already one of the 3 supreme admirals out of the way….
-
Enies Lobby isn´t the stronghold, it is the front door of the World Government, in other words maybe the most important outpost. The strongholds themselves are the Marine HQ and Holy Land Maryjoa itself.
-
Somethin that has nothin to do with luffy is namis dream, to draw a world map and to me it looks like she barely got a fourth of it so far: east blue? and the grandline
-
I think it would be pretty difficult to keep the plot running after One Piece is found. It's by and large been "I'm on my trip, and it happens that on the way we can handle your problems."
I can't see Pirate King Luffy carting Nami around so she can finish her map, or trucking Sanji off to the All Blue. (suddenly, I picture the Going Merry replaced with a seaborne minivan, carting all the kiddies to their activities).
I agree that the other Strawhats must be satisfied before Luffy is.
I think the best conclusion might be:
-Dispose of one or two crew members well ahead of the closing (to avoid a crammed feel late in the series). For me, Sanji is the most likely suspect, as could be Chopper. Sanji can be dumped at the All Blue with a set of condiments and get picked up later, and Chopper might go to a college or something to study medicine.
-Satisfy everyone else– perhaps set Mihawk as a last guard for Raftel, and place the true history there as a prerequisite to accessing One Piece. This is where it could be blown big-time. Too many contrived "oh, everyone's goal is right next to each other."
-Give Luffy his One Piece
-Provide a few chapters of closure, showing the effect left on each of the major people and places in the series.
-Perhaps a final chapter 5 or 10 years after the previous scenes, where all the former Strawhats and major characters are drawn together, perhaps by Luffy's execution which restarts the cycle Gol D. Roger began, or alternatively, pisses off so many people it finally tips over the WG. We might have final moments of demonstrated accomplishments of others here. Zoro married to Tashigi, who's become the greatest swordswoman on earth by keeping Zoro off-kilter, fully-educated Dr Chopper, Nami's world maps advertised in the shops of Loguetown...
And the final scene:
Marine Executioner: Any last requests?
Luffy: Some meat? -
The only other characters I can see accomplishing their dreams by the time Luffy gets OP is Robin, Sanji, Usopp, and Zoro. Nami and Chopper's dreams seem more like lifetime accomplishments to me. Nami still has many other seas to map out she hasn't been to (that we know of, she may have discovered them while working for Arlong, we don't know) and Chopper's is definatly a lifetime thing. New diseases come all the time, and he would have to learn the cures for new diseases he has never heard of before, or that just sprouted.
-
That would be the best ending…..Luffy getting his head cut off....I actually sort of mean it... of course he would be smiling triumphantly....and the camera could pan to some kid in the crowd...yadda yadda....I swear if OP wasn't a shonen manga (like say Seinen instead) that WOULD be the ending.
But I think getting to Raftel might launch a final story arc concerning the True History/ancient weapons.
-
I think it will be like this :
Zoro will fight Mihawk and win and becomes the best swordman of the world
Sanji will find the All Blue but after that he think about the moments he had it all the others and decides to go with them
Chopper will be always becoming a better Doctor, also will continue is journey with the others
Usopp will finally understand that he is already a Brave Warrior of the Sea but decides to continue helping his friends (now that he knows they need him)
Nico Robin will finally have a rest and start fully enjoying the company of the others
Nami won't acomplish her dream when the anime ends but it will be left open
And Nami won't acomplish her dream when the anime ends but will be left open
And it will end with the W.G. being put to sleep and a new Goverment that is leaded by Dragon, Vivi and other good guys will rise and Luffy and the other will just sail to new adventures in the places where they never went then the strawhats ship is see with all the strawhats in the deck saying goodbye and going into a Sunset then final credits role and that it
And in the very end of the credits will say "Continues, Maybe ?!"

Wait,Ussop Has A Dream?
-
Do you watch the dub or what?<_<
-
I would like to see Roger's backstory, somehow spanning a coulple of chapters.
-
@Comander:
Wait,Ussop Has A Dream?
Yes, to be a Brave Man of the Sea. (essentially a pirate by Hiruluk's defination) Therefore, he is already the 1st person to acheive his dream. Although it would still shock me if Oda left Ussop at Water 7, he's going to return to being an important part of the crew very soon, I'm sure of it.
-
becoming a great pirate…. pretty much done if u ask me.
nami will prolly part ways in the end to map the whole wide world... and Chopper will find a panacea in Raftel and realizes he's life is meaningless and throw himself in the ocean. ( j/k, btw: panacea = miraculous medicine that cures all deseases )i think we'll have luffy's head chopped in the same spot as Roger, but this new WG thing is also plausible.
but please: no need to put sunset and stuff....
-
but please: no need to put sunset and stuff….
Oh god, that would be so cheesy. XD
Yeah, that would make an awesome ending though, Luffy getting his head chopped off. It would make the story a never ending cycle and drive people nuts! XD
Then some random kid in the background will claim to be the next pirate king or something, just to drive people more crazy. :ninja:
-
I alway's thought all of them might get executed sort of like pirate's in the afterlife but that maybe depressing to have them all executed
-
As many others have said, the best possible ending, as well as one of the most probable, is Luffy's capture by the Marines and an execution. We don't actually have to see him get executed; the most poetic ending would be Luffy, smiling, saying "My treasure? Why, it's right were I left it…even if you have to search the whole world, know that I left everything I owned...in One Piece".
That's roughly echoing what Gold Roger said, but it, somehow, seems almost out of character for Luffy. Maybe he'll say something else.
The worst ending would be, quite naturally, the same kind of ending given to Shaman King and InuYasha (anime): the protagonists walk into the distance, ready to continue their adventures to achieve their goals, only there won't be anymore episodes to chronologue these escapades.
I thought that InuYasha and Shaman King's ending sucked arse; we, the viewers, invest an hour almost weekly to watching something where we're expecting an ending to bring closure to the story. If there's a cliffhanger, it should be a cliffhanger that leaves US to speculate. Stopping a show where it's implied that the animators wanted to make more episodes, but couldn't, so the viewers MUST SUFFER, is the polar opposite of fanservice; heck, it's almost a fan disservice.
-
Is it unresonable to think that Nami has already made a map of the other seas (north, south, east, west)? I think her goal is more like making a map of grandline, seeing as any half-ass cartographer can make a map of island outsie of the grandline.
Also Chopper's goal was to be a great docter or something right? Connection to Edward Newgate? He had tubes all over him last we saw.
-
i mentioned this before, Gol D. Roger's goana be there and he's goana say "you've been punk'd"
-
@fy3:
i mentioned this before, Gol D. Roger's goana be there and he's goana say "you've been punk'd"
I think Luffy would break down crying if that happened!XD
-

Well, I can see a few reasons it could work.
-Luffy says it because he recognizes the symbolic value of being cyclical.
-They execute a much older Luffy, after some years of being Pirate King and becoming mature
-He'll say it in his own words.
Interesting thought:
If Gol D. Roger gave himself up, he might have stuffed One Piece on Raftel to drive people into the ancient history and the grand line.
If Luffy dies a parallel death, what would he be driving people into? If Nami and Robin make their dreams work, we'll know the ancient history, and the Grand Line will be mapped and more masterable than before.
-

My guess is that much of the One Piece world remains to be explored. Consider this; if Grandline is the horizontal circumference of the OP world, and the entire world is divided into four seas, Raftel would logically be easier to reach from North or West Blue, due to location, and much of the mystery surrounding it would have been revealed.
This is why, at least in my opinion, Mihawk's subdivision of the OP world's seas only applies to half the planet; this would mean that Grand Line not only bisects North and West Blue, but it goes past them into uncharted territory.
-
Well, the four seas is repeated many times in the story. The chefs in Sanji's flashback also describe the same layout.
-
Luffy will say when he die (If he not, I'm gotta be pissed of, that would be like, the best endning ever to the best serie ever, AND, Death Note is also a Shounen manga, so people can die, it's just Oda who often don't kill people):
-Sorry, I died!
And then he smiles like the biggest smile ever. :) And then the strawhat flies away and land on the head of some kid.
-
Well.. Death Note is shounen.. But Death Note is about killing.. and people who die… One piece isn't ^^
-
Yeah, but One Piece is about honor, and what is more honourble than dying for your opinion and believe?
-
I honestly don't believe that Luffy will be killed, I think he will more likely flee with his crew to unkown and deserted island and live happily ever after and they will become legends…
-
Yes, to be a Brave Man of the Sea. (essentially a pirate by Hiruluk's defination) Therefore, he is already the 1st person to acheive his dream.
He's not quite there yet. Mainly the "brave" part. Not trying to diss Usopp, but that's how I think he sees it himself. There's probably gonna be some "hallmark" heroic moment before he can truly say he achieved his dream.
-

That would litterly suck.

Noo, why? :0… I don't think so, I don't want Luffy to die, I want him to somehow escape during his execution or maybe fake his death..
-

What's honorable about fleeing your fate?
-
No, Luffy would never fake his death.. remember what he told kuro about faking his death..?
-
Well, he doesnt have to do it himself, maybe like his crewmates saves him.. I think it would be kinda strange if all of them were executed.. I can only see Luffy and Zoro executed.. Maybe Usopp. But with everone else it just feels strange..
-

Luffy is the only one who would be executed. I still believe Coby will somehow make the others free from their bounties (he said he is gonna be a admiral).
-
Naaahh.. I dont like that.. :/.. And if they got free, then they would do anything they could for saving Luffy..
-

Not really, do you remember when Zeff stopped Sanji from helping Zoro in his fight with Mihawk? It is all about honor, man!
-
Just popped in outta nowhere. I seriously don't think and don't want Luffy to die. Though I might accept it if they give him around 10 to 20 years for him to enjoy his accomplishment of being pirate king. But first they need to find someone thats strong enough to go against his monster crew since he is not just gonna quietly surrender.
Anyway, It kinda crossed my mind that it will end with the passing off the strawhat to some little kid wanting to be a pirate and sail away with them. Like what Shanks did with Luffy.
-
Not really, do you remember when Zeff stopped Sanji from helping Zoro in his fight with Mihawk? It is all about honor, man!
Huh? Wasn´t it Luffy who stopped Johnny and Yosaku from helping? Maybe I should reread that part. :hmm:
-
i think Zeff said to Sanji not to interfere (not really sure) and Luffy actually stopped Johnny and Yosaku from helping
-
Not really, do you remember when Zeff stopped Sanji from helping Zoro in his fight with Mihawk? It is all about honor, man!
That was a duel of honor, which is a decidely different thing from an execution. Roger's death is a legendary event, but Norland showed that there really isn't anything honorable about being executed. On top of that, Luffy has a lot of promises to keep, which he can't do if he dies and we know what he thinks about that from the Krieg Arc.
I just can't see the Straw Hats storming Enies Lobby for Robin and not do the same for Luffy. Will Ace just sit around and let them execute his little brother? Will the nations of Drum and Alabasta sit idly by and let a national hero be executed without making some effort to help? What about the Franky Family and so many other people? It's easily possible for the World Government to have an entire crowd watching the execution where everybody there is determined to stop it.
That's provided that the World Government even still exists by that point or if it's entirely different. By the end of the series, they might even accept the Pirate King as a substitute for the Shichibukai, seeing as how his crew will likely have defeated most or all of them by then.
There's even a lot of people out there who would probably interfere with an execution just so that they can off the Pirate King with their own hand or hands.
