I got a Japanese New 3DS for Christmas and unfortunately, it doesn't work. I think it might be due to the fact that it was ordered over a month ago, so it just kinda sat around until Christmas. It doesn't charge and it doesn't power on. Could it be the battery? Could the system just be defective? I've already taken the battery out and put it back in twice and it still won't work. Does anyone here know anything about this sort of thing? I know there are importers here, so I'm hoping I'll get more responses than I got on Gamefaqs.

Could it be the power supply?
Although if you have an official one from Nintendo it should work anyways cause as far as I know they adapt to the correct voltage. As long as you can plug it in without breaking the plug in holes it should work anyway.I'm using an official Nintendo power supply that I ordered from amazon.de(Germany) and it works fine with my JPN 3ds.
If it isn't the power supply maybe it's just the port for it?

I'm not exactly sure what it could be. I've tried using 2 different chargers, one American and one Japanese but it won't work. I've taken the back off and the battery looks fine, so it could be the port but I don't know how to fix that.
Well, I've pretty much ruled out it being the port. I just think the battery is completely dead and can't recharge. I'm gonna either end up contacting the site I bought it from or buying a battery from Nintendo and hoping that will work. Thanks, DarthAsthma.
