Shueisha started digital-coloring chapters of ONE PIECE on June 15. Volume 1-68 are available now. The price of each volume is 473 yen. We can see the previews (about 11 pages for each volume) at "Book Live.jp".

I liked version 1 of this thread better. Too bad you have to jump through hoops to buy these. Oh yeah, and there's the reading/speaking the Japanese language too.

Have they all come out in sets of two so far? If so, what's the usual gap between releases? We could probably predict when the next ones are coming easy enough if that's consistent

Nope. Prior to the release of 69-70, 66-68 came out at the same time.

The gap between the release of 66-68 and 69-70 was ~6 months.

I'd like a second (and even a third) opinion from a Japanese speaker on what Dragon is saying on this page from chapter 440 (particularly the top left "double" bubble and the bottom right bubble). please don't look at a translation beforehand, I'd like an uncoloured translation so that I can objectively compare it to the viz version.

I've just checked out the free previews and they look awesome, there's quite a bit of content that can be printscreened. I think the first volume's preview is actually the entire first chapter.
Toriko has a lot of 'thought text' so it will take a lot of time and effort to translated.

I know we can't transform this thread into a scanlation discussion and all, but are the coloured raws still allowed? And if so, is volume 71 out yet? I believe 70 was the last one, at least it's the last one I have.

The initial problem was the links to the raw volumes.

Volume 71 hasn't come out yet (nor has it been announced that it's coming out anytime soon).

When the last thread was deleted volumes 69 and 70 weren't agreeing with the extractor program and had to be screencapped at a slightly lower quality. Anyone know if HD versions of them were ever successfully ripped?

I think 69's quality was low at first but then another HQ version came out, same for 70. I could be wrong. Both should be on batoto and their quality is the highest

Upon closer inspection of my files I may already have the higher quality 69 but my 70 is definitely LQ, I'll check out Batoto and see how theirs look. Thanks.

I've noticed a thing in light of the volume 77 cover reveal. Remember we got chapter 714 and 761 coloured as promo things for the digital edition of Jump? Well 714 has some errors based on the new cover. Giolla's hair is green instead of yellow and orange, and Diamante's coat is too dark and his pants purple instead of red. We can probably chalk this up to it being a weekly release and done in a rush, since the Dressrosa scenes in the coloured volume 70 show Giolla's hair the correct colours (check the end of chapter 694). Wonder if all that's being fixed up when the coloured manga reaches volume 72.

Nope. Releases stopped at 70. There was hope that they'd release a couple volumes every so often (based on the the fact that 69 and 70 came out some time after 68 was released) but I guess that's not happening. I wonder what happened. Maybe they're waiting for the arc to be finished?

From a business perspective I think they want customers to go for the regular edition first before buying the colored edition, they wouldn't want to trump the black and white digital editions.

There are no current plans from Viz to release the colored edition.

Adding to what Galaxy said, I did ask the English editor for One Piece about it and the answer I got was "if people show enough interest, we'll consider publishing it in English".

Take that as you will.

Makes total sense to me. XD Also somebody better translate both Bleach and Naruto manga. Now that both series (excluding bleach.) finishes its run. Maybe I spoke too soon? lol

Beautiful. Hopefully you'll translate the rest of the color manga so that us anime fans can create our own Toriko anime in flash. Better than Toei's crap.
