The only thing I didn't like was the dumb burgess laughing replay thing that went on for a minute.

Well, I don't reread weekly chapters so watching the anime is also meant to better understand what happens. It's still easy without the subtitles, but that'd be useless.
I found a subbed one anyway. The pace is really slow but that was a rather good episode.
I was expecting an action-packed one but I forgot that they like to stretch fight introductions. The next one will probably be great.

And then they fuck it up by forgetting to animate it properly.

Also, maybe it's just me but Sabo's running animation looked weird as fuck.

Deguchi's last episode was pretty good compared to this. I like the overall quality of this arc but from time to time we get an episode like this that ruins the picture.
After the veins, Doffy's teeth get sound effects. Wtf ?
24 like multi-screen. Without the song of the clock it doesn't work.
The team behind this episode have some really original/shitty ideas.
LoL right now I'm in that state where I want japanese people I've never met to get fired.
Well I guess Luffy's pistol wasn't so bad and next week preview looks good.

I would never has guessed the return of Sabo a few weeks ago, and cant wait for the final showdown between Luffy and Mingo as well as Zorro and the adimiral. (I think)

You're not the only one. I mean, every episode has a few flaws but I love each one of 'em. This one though, even though the first half was merely buildup for the finals, the ending with Doflamingo getting progressively furious made it. I was like… "Oh shit. It's about to go down!" I have never been let down by the build-ups.

I did like that they showed Burgess with some traits of sportsmanship. The rest of the episode was just as meeh as every other episode since Dressrosa started. I'll give the anime fans kudos for being so patient with these animations and I will curse the animators and their families for being atrociously shitty at their job.

It's not all about the budget. Sometimes less is more. A pity they don't have a creative director pulling the strings.

But I'd generally agree. If Toei top executives didn't only think about the money, or hookers and blow as Miss Saturday put it once, maybe we'd have a better product.

We've seen tweets from the animators that have stated that they are on a very tight schedule. Inoue tweeted about the Merry special, stating that they were still working on it mere hours before broadcast time. It pretty much showed in the final product that it was severely rushed (and even had to be fixed in the BD release. )

I remember reading somewhere that regular animators make less than minimum wage and even higher payed ones like Hishida is not all that impressive compared to some US Salaries. Wait was it for regulars? Less than 20k salary? Overall money made=/= How much animators get paid,they really don't pay them enough to do the job well consistently

I've heard it's the same for mangakas, the editor takes most of the money. I wonder if Bakuman has tackled this issue, it'd be pretty interesting. I gotta catch up with this manga.

The idea of Diamante's entrance was excellent, but its Animation executed was horrible. Didn't know if I should cry or laugh when I saw Diamante performing ACDC's Angus Young's signature move. It was animated so shitty. Hell, I could have done that better!

No, IMO it is thanks to Toei that OP is animated/drawn so shitty. Toei also did Sailormoon, a series where you just had to animate like 10 minutes, the other screentime were just Transformation animations. Naruto Anime isn't drawn/animated this shitty. Hopefully Naruto's Studio willdraw/animate OP once Naruto has ended.

Yeah, that's right. But you see that they put more effort into drawing chars. In the end of an OP episodeyou can hardly recognize the chars cause they're drawn so shitty. Of course if I could make a wish on who should animate OP I would even resurrect Disney-animators from the past.

I've only posted hopes above. I know this will never become true. Or was my post ridiculous in grammar? I'm no english native Speaker after all. If Toei just released an Episode every 2nd week, they could put more effort into animating and drawing that stuff and they didn't need to come up with stoopid filler shit between each Island.

Now they're broadcasting german dubbed episodes from Imple Down and I have to say: back then the art and Animation was way better than today.
It's just heartbreaking to see that a story this good is animated and stretched out so poorly.
