Since I don't know Japanese, I always use the dub fruit names. It's a lot less confusing. I also make my own dub fruit names for the same perpose. Fire Fire, Zap Zap, Door Door, Chill Chill, Sand Sand, Spike Spike, Blade Blade, Mole Mole, Wax Wax, Spring Spring, and so on.

Gum Gum is a fine translation…
Slip Slip..... is alright.
Smoke Smoke isn't quite on, but that one was a hard translation.(Blank Blank?)
Wapol's fruit is taken from "factory sounds"....kind of translatable.
Ace's fruit is taken from the sound of fire crackiling, kind of untranslatable.
Ener's is the sound of Thunder...Alot of them are probably good changes...=(

I would expect "Copy Copy," to be a better translation than "Clone Clone". Heck, the latter shouldn't even be used in a 4Kid production because Bon Clay needs to touch a person to "aquire" their features.

4kids probably also thought the younger kids (their audience) would like Gum Gum better than Ruber Ruber because it flows… that's just the impression I get, though.

Viz decided that it was called Gum Gum Fruit, not 4Kids. 4kids simply just put it in the dub… Anyways these are the english fruit names....

Most is fine, some is weird.
Gum Gum was mistranslated
Chop Chop was the same as Bara Bara, Bara is the chopping sound made on the cooking board so Chop Chop fits well
Slip Slip is the same as Sube Sube. Sube can mean smooth and soft so Slip Slip fits well
Smoke Smoke is a close translation to Moku
Bomb Bomb is in Japanese Bomu Bomu. Thankfully it's not Explode Explode
Kilo Kilo is kept
Hana Hana is kept
Ox Ox is fine, Ushi means Ox or Cow so 4kids made the right decision on this
Human Human is fine, Hito is the Japanese word for human
Clone Clone is weird, but Mane means copy but it would make sense if it's Copy Copy
Spike Spike is understandble, Toge is the Japanese word for spike
Dice Dice is corny, if it meant for Mr. 1's fruit
Sand Sand is fine, it's probley hard to translate Suna.

Gum-Gum at least is a far better match sound-wise than Rubber-Rubber (can you imagine Luffy yelling "Rubber-Rubber Rocket!" with all those syllables, and how the parents would blow their gaskets at the image)

I don't really mind anything. I just hate how in the dub basically all Luffy says is "ROCKET" a punch is rocket, a hammer is rocket, a sligshot is a rocket, a net is a rocket.

Every reference to a Gun they made into rocket. "Gum Gum Bullet" I think was one in the very beginning,they've said rocket A LOT.

Gum Gum Bullet was made into Gum Gum Burst. Gum Gum Pistol was made into Gum Gum Blast. Gum Gum Bazooka was made into Gum Gum Double Barrel. I have no idea where you're getting this.
