You know? I might be buying this game because of the controversy it recently started. I can buy a PS4 and get the game when it comes out in English.

im sure there are worse reasons to buy a game, but i cant think of any at the moment
-
I actually have DOAX2. It's an awful game, but I tried to have fun with it. I liked buying stylish bathing suits and putting on nail polish that matched and suited the character. Basically, it was a fashion game for me.
And to think, there was a time that I didn't think I was 100% homosexual.
The jet ski game was pretty fun, everything else was pure torture with god awful controls. And if you wanted to buy stuff, you HAD to play the bad games. I don't get it: If you're gonna make a game of pure eye candy, why does it have to be a giant steaming pile of shit, too? At least Bayonetta is fun, and that one is far more respectful to women in contrast!
@Purple:
…how can anyone argue that DOA Xtreme isn't sexist?
I don't think they care, deep down.

If you do that, buy it from http://www.ricedigital.co.uk/
At least those guys had the common sense to question the idea that it wasn't released overseas because of feminism.

Your right about that sis. But I have a bad feeling that because of the backlash they got. That they will pull a pull a Devil's Third and release it here. Remember when Nintendo didn't originally wanna to publish the game because of its quality? Unseen64 was to blame for it. lol

Why do you still have it though?

I bought it. I seldom get rid of any of the games I own. I still have my Genesis copy of Shaq Fu.

Holding on to Shaq Fu is a mark of pride and integrity as a gamer, the exact opposite of holding on to any Dead or Alive game.

Speaking of crowdfunding, seeing how they are so eager to throw 75$ on a titty game no one likes, I'm starting to wonder how easy it is to trick them into giving money.
''To all of #gamergate, I don't have enough money to buy Wii U and mean SJWs are telling me I'm a privileged white cishet male and should get the money myself. So I figured I'd teach them and make my own kickstarter. If I reach the goal, I'll purchase a Wii U and start speaking out against the evils of social justice on Miiverse. Plz support!''

Come on, DoA for the PS1 wasn´t that bad.
Despite there being at least 7 way better PS1 fighting games at that point.

I think Jim sums this up quite nicely. -

Probably world peace or something.
-
I looked at the comments briefly, with the one thing sticking out being Jim in a classy pose with his classy object.
As for the article, I skimmed it and stopped when I knew the person didn't realize one simple fact. No one is stopping people from getting the game. Those who truly want it can import it and play the game. Sure, there won't be English text, but as far as I know this is a game that doesn't really require it, and you can probably find a translation on line somewhere. People taking games away would be if they made it so the game couldn't be distributed at all, and if you had the game you had to burn it.
They decided to not send it over due to controversy. While there would be better excuses, this really means only one thing, that they can't take criticism that well. Really if they wanted to bring it over and there was outrage, they could just say "We made the game to be about fan service and nothing else. Not your cup of tea? That's fine, you don't have to like it and those who like it will buy it.". Instead, the author decided not being able to take criticism equals being forced to not sell the game. Also made the mistake of a retailer not wanting to sell something to complete block of distribution. Toys R Us isn't going to sell mail order brides but that doesn't mean they are suppressing the market or whatever.

This is one of those situations where I wish I kill myself over cringe worthy art like this. I can go on a tirade on why this piece doesn't make any sense or why it looks more god awful than that time Isis tried to act tough in Front of a bunch of Syrian soldiers only to then cry about it when they got captured. (Not kidding about that. There's a YouTube video of it circling around the net.) But I'm going to show you an actual good art that will make this garbage look like nothing!
!
Eat your fucking heart out! (To the artist, not the Arlong Park user.)
Also the Anatomy skills on her hand is fucking awful. -_- And this is why real artists like me will never get a career into animation? :(

Also a little disclaimer: I didn't draw this masterpiece. That honor goes to a dude from Japan on Tumblr himself... takoilla029.
I recommend going to his Tumblr account and look up all the art he made on that site. Here's the link. http://takoilla029.tumblr.com

Official statement from Koei Tecmo
I'll let you guess whether or not GG is spitting hairs over it and/or treating it like a conspiracy
-
"Well this is what they say, but obviously not what they mean, like, it stands to reason, they don't dare speak up against the SJW scourge, and if I squint real hard the bit about "different global audiences" sounds like an SJW denouncement, I can feel it in my GGgut!"
Do I win?
-
I've already seen some of the backlash, so I already know what GG's official reply to that would be. Pretty much exactly:
"The guy who was running the Facebook account was actually being honest with us and giving us a straight answer. This new statement is company PR Speak and can't be trusted."
That's what I saw them saying when KT Europe's Twitter made a statement saying the FB guy didn't represent the company when he passed blame on the issue.
-
Facts that support the thesis that DOAX3 isn't coming to the west due to financial reason
-
The sales for the second game dropped dramatically compared with the first
-
The moment KT announced the game, they said they won't bring it over unless there's a strong demand
-
They added english subtitles to appeal to the western minority who would want to import the game
-
They're having some financial trouble and don't want to take any risks
-
Feminist critics never stopped them from releasing DOA games, or any developer from releasing ecchi titles for the matter
Facts that support the thesis that DOAX3 isn't coming to the west due to ''SJW nonsense'' - Embarassingly badly worded post from one of their employee on Facebook. Oh, and Koei Tecmo officially deleted and retconned said statement.
-
-
Even if you want to make the argument that fear of backlash and controversy factored into Koei's decision not to release the game in the West, there's one very huge fact that the GG people are ignoring here.
The financial issue IS a part of this, there's no way it isn't.
If KT was 100% confident the game would be profitable when released here, nothing else would matter. They'd just be like "Gonna release game and make money! Controversy or no!"
I could EASILY see them having looked at sales trends and then being like "Eh…. this'd be REALLY risky.... these sales numbers trend too far down for our tastes.... probably not a good idea to release it outside it's biggest market.... the fact that it could cause controversy's a thing too I guess.... ok, not releasing it".
I doubt, very VERY heavily, that fear of controversy is in any way the primary reason or even a particularly big reason why this game isn't being released here.
-
What's funny is seeing a bunch of pretenders who believe they're defending the purity of gaming getting up in arms about a mediocre volley ball simulator.
I wonder, if DOA was actually just a mediocre volley ball simulator without butts that was legit being destroyed by some demonic SJW menace, would the boners still care?
-
Yeah, honestly, I think the real reason behind the huge slump in sales, and therefore the real reason why this whole thing is an issue in the first place is because it's JUST A Mediocre Volleyball sim.
The main series DoA games get decent sales despite the sexuality of the series because, at it's core, the fighting Mechanics of the games are still pretty solid. Not Street Fighter IV solid, but still solid. The sexiness may attract some folks, but people STAY for the gameplay.
DOAX doesn't have that. When you get right down to it, the gameplay isn't anything truly interesting. Therefore, that game has to stand almost entirely on the sexiness, and I think people got their fill from 1.
2 didn't exactly Revolutionize the formula, so folks largely ignored it. -
Nah, I'm saying remove sexuality, too. Like how many boners would be defending the game so violently if it was about regular people in modest sports wear playing rounds of volley ball, and yet still was under attack for some reason from the imagined bestial hive of SJWs they believe in.

Facts about fiscal woes and low demand? Pfffft! Gamergate doesn't need those!

Reading KT's official response up there gave me another thought.
They claim that the statement the guy made on Facebook was his opinion…
What are the chances that the real reason IS the financials (IE: They saw the drop between 1 and 2, so Projected Sales of 3 were too low) and the Facebook guy's OPINION is that the drop between 1 and 2 was caused by controversy?
-

You're underestimating some of these people. This piece of shit game Yohjo simulator got removed from steam because it contained some illicit content. There were a couple of people who got all up in arms because of its removal and wanted it put back on the store and were willing to go out of their way to buy it just because believed 'SJWs wanted it removed'
Here's a video showing off what a piece of shit this game was
[hide]They are the type of people who buy games they don't care about out of spite just because SJWs are against it. AKA idiots.

What on earth is a "Yohjo" anyway?

One thing I've noticed that most folks crying "Censorship" and "Freedom of Speech!" never really understand… Having the freedom to say and make things like this doesn't mean everybody is required to accomodate you or give you a platform.
That's like if a dude decided he wanted to walk into your house, go to the Window close to the busiest street near your house, open the window, and start shouting terrible things at people on the street.
Since it's coming from YOUR house, even if it's not you yourself shouting, people will associate that with you. So it's your right to kick the guy out if you want.
Same deal.
Valve isn't required to allow access to a game on its platform that it doesn't want associated with Steam.
That's their right, and nobody should be able to take that away from them.
-
It literally means 'young girl,' 幼女.
It's used mainly to refer to elementary school age and below, I think.
… Which makes this game a very creepy concept .(。ŏ﹏ŏ) -
I just hope noone sees this kind of "advertisement" as useful now.

Looks like some Gator's are already boycotting Tim Schafer's brand new video game about that psychonat kid. A user named mundanematt is already creating a conspiracy theory about how Anita and his Kickstarter game came out at the same time on the same day. And he's telling his fans not to support him because…. His project is not on Kickstarter? -_____-
Not going to link the video due to "personal reasons?" But if you go on YouTube and look up his Tim Schaeffer video about that game. He wasn't pleased. lol

just curious, but what exactly do you mean by "official reply"?

Having browsed some stuff here and there, it seems to depend on the person/situation. Many of times when something happens they like, they claim that is was due to them putting pressure on people. The way it's worded it's like they are a group with a cause. On the other hand, if negative things come up, they don't seem to think that way. They aren't a group and people can just label themselves however they want. Because GG is just a hashtag, that represents only an opinion of one person. It gets weird and seems like it changes to suit the need.

thank you.i thought it was like this, but wasn't really sure,so needed to confirm.
and that is in essence i think the problem of gamersgate.people claim gamersgate to be about journalistic integrity.other people use the gamergate name to say stupid thing and do stupid things.the media(gaming media) misrepresents the latter to be the entirety of GG.others say that GG should"police the trolls",which is imo not really feasible.anyone can use a name.no way to censor it.
maybe if the gaming media offered a platform for a discussion on both gg and game journalism ethics, things would become more transparent.and yeah, maybe if the media critics distanced themselves from the name,it would also be better.
frankly, both sides seem stupid to me.(and i'm not even talking about the trolls).
and labelling remarks of individuals as remarks by some organised group seems wrong to me
