It's time for something that I don't do very often….MOVIE REVIEWS!!

Today, I'll be looking at...

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride

There's a lot of great things that I can say about this movie.

The still-life animation (or whatever it's called) was pulled off sucessfully and vibrantly! The grayish color of the living world gave it a very gothic appeal. While the rainbow of (but mostly blue) colors of the dead world gave it a very happy feeling. (Ironic eh?) The movie also succeeds in making Emily (the corpse bride) look very elegant during certain parts of the movie while never letting the audience forget that she is dead. (Eyeballs popping out, hands/feet breaking off, the maggot in her head, etc.)

This movie could be somewhat classifyed as a musical because songs were definately plentiful. Most of the songs in this movie were very catchy and very upbeat. If I had money to spare, I'd go out and buy the soundtrack!

The plot was just….wow! The trailers tell the story of the first half of the movie very well. But the second half of the movie was full of different unexpected turn of events. I'm dying to type up the whole thing, but I don't want to spoil the ending.

The voice acting was just magnificent! The voices were very well matched up to the characters. Very well indeed.

I highly recommend seeing this movie! I'd say that it's one of the best movies that I've ever seen in my entire life! Go see "Tim Burton's Corpse Bride". It's to DIE for!

All I have to say was it was absolutly adorable. I felt so bad for Emily, but I'm very glad that Victor married Victoria in the end. ;-; I also loved the Victorian setting.

I felt so bad for Victor, though. I kept wanting to give him a hug. ;-; When I started tearing up my friend looked at me funny. XD

I'd like to see it but I have a feeling it won't be as good as Nightmare Before Christmas. I thought it was funny that they used NBC music in the previews for it though.

It wasn't as good as Nightmare, but still a good movie. The cast was perfect. I'm a big fan of Christopher Lee, so that I gave points for. And Tracy Ullman and Joanna Lumley are in it as well, which made me happy.
The ending seemed kinda rushed, didn't really explain a whole lot. The plot was also pretty predictable. And the songs, though few, weren't nearly as catchy as Nightmare's.
As an art major, I enjoyed the stop motion animation and the victorian era style. I also liked the fact that the living were black and white, while the dead were all in color.

I probably woulnd'y pay to see it again, unfortunately. But once is a good number. If you like animated films of all types, go see this.

I think the problem with this movie is everyone was expecting another Nightmare Before Christmas. You can't recreate Nightmare. It was just an overly awesome concept and movie.

Corpse Bride was a good movie, especially if you went in expecting it NOT to be anywhere near the level of Nightmare. I was pleased with it. It had a cute story. The characters were cute (not Nightmare's level of lovablity, but cute.)

The only thing I can honestly say I was sorely disappointed in was the music. They felt forced, they didn't really seem like something I'd want to listen to outside the movie, they didn't draw me into the characters further (Like "Jack's Song" and "Sally's Lament" …or any character pieces in a musical do.) C'mon, Danny Elfman, I expect better of you!

But all in all, nice movie. Very cute.

I liked the movie. I hate that everyone is comparing it to The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I didn't like Victoria at all. She was completely flat. I had no feelings for her at all by the end of the movie. I wish that they didn't put the predictable ending on the movie. Victor should have died and ended up with the Corpse Bride.

The thought of comparing Corpse Bride to Nightmare Before Christmas didn't enter my mind, mianly because I don't remember much about Nightmare. Yet, I still found the songs to be lackluster and the ending to be rushed, dashing any chance of conveying a message that the rest of the movie could have about love and marriage.

But I do love the cast, espically Christopher "Count Dooku" Lee and how the stop animation was done. I say go see it if nothing else that looks really good, like the 40 Year Old Virgin, is playing.

I enjoyed the movie, probably because I wasn't comparing it to Nightmare like everyone else has been doing (apparently). The songs weren't as good, but I liked the score quite a lot. I felt the ending came rather abruptly and we really didn't get to know Emily all that well, I really didn't have much of a sense of her character the same way I did for Victor and Victoria. Which is odd, since we see way more of her than Victoria. Huh. Anyway, I enjoyed it, I'll get it when it comes out on DVD.

A pretty good movie in my opinion,but it doesn't live up to Nightmare.
Emily was pretty awesome,but Victoria…meh.

I've been wanting to see this. I'm hoping to see this sometime next week, if it's in the theatre's. From reading other people's reviews an such, it doesn't live up to Nightmare.

I've heard a bunch of lukewarm at best reviews, but I guess I'll try and see it before its out of theaters. It can't be THAT bad.

I didn't like how they used Nightmare Before Christmas music for the trailers though… its kinda like its just asking to be related and compared to the other.

It sucked, I was bored to tears durring it. I didn't like any of the songs, I couldn't relate to the characters, it's like the creators didn't even care.
