Ehh, I do agree that Zoro does act a little too badass now (that's why Zoro has moved down past the top 15 for me). He still does have his moments for me that are fun though:
!
!
Moments like the ones above still exist for him, so that's why he hasn't fallen as deep as Sanji, and is somewhat getting better. Sanji has had some good moments in this arc (the Big Mom "permission to attack scene", the saving of his friends on the Sunny), but it's mostly overshadowed by the awfulness that was his interactions with Violet. If Sanji continues to have good scenes like the ones mentioned, then sure, he'll move back up. If he continues to get them scarcely, and they continue to be overshadowed by his perversions… then he'll continue moving down.

Doflamingo - Just a complete badass villain, so much secrecy and hype, incredible Devil Fruit mastery ingenius backstory along with him not giving a shit about much and smiling all day long.
Sabo - Love his martial arts and style, holding his style from when he was young. Great design with elegant clothing gives him a great feel. He's young, no where near his prime. Definitley a character to look out for in the near future.
Roronoa Zoro - Complete badass in the new world. Incredible lines of explaining how his opponents aren't even on his level. A hardcore character, can't wait to see him go all out on an extremely tough opponent.
Trafalgar Law - Serious character, good design and power.
Mihawk - Serious character, always bored and just tries to kill time by killing people and slicing shit. How can anyone not like that?
Kizaru - Great character. Doesn't give a shit and is always surprised sarcastically.
Garp - Marine veteran, complete beast. Cornering roger at times, looked up to by the marines.
Marco - Incredible DF, basic but destructive fighting style and great lines (Vs Kizaru)
Dragon (Monkey D.) Most wanted man, has great views with his mission on trying to fix the world. Biggest unknown bounty in the series. Great character for the future.
Gladius - His design is really great. Shown aspects of being a good leader. Taking on Barto and Robin.. (i swear this guy has clones of himself)
Akainu - Overall beast character. Very serious and absolute. Follows his thoughts to the last drops. So destructive and seductive.
Rob Lucci - Pretty bland but i loved his design, fighting style and DF. Produced one of Luffy's greatest fights.
Rayleigh - Amazing character, gave us good roger insight and he trained Luffy. He knows how to fight and love the compliments from Kizaru to him. Gives him that beast feel.
Pekoms - Really kinky wierd type of person (? animal??) looks like a big strong Mama's boy who gets dressed ready for a tea party. Love it!
Bobbin - I can just watch the Anime on repeat, "Yo yo yo yo", gotta love that head movement.
Vergo - Gotta love this mans Haki and dedication to his master and family. Very powerful, just love his demon bamboo.
Kyros - Probably the most hardcore character on the series. This character does not waste one second on doing what he has to do. He got Doflamingo good, but Doflamingo had to educate him on how to do it better.. (Head slice).

You know what I'm like, Silver, I just crave all the raw data.
I didn't realise you didn't like my polls….:ninja:
Absalom has been becoming one of my top 15 lately; he wasn't that great personality-wise but then he became a reporter and kind of broke out of his previous role. Would like to see how he acts now, actually. He can't be all obsessive about marriage or graveyards if he's out doing reporting so much, with unrelated people and places.
This is hard,I got soooo many characters I would like to include.
15. Señor Pink - hilarious, quirky, stupid and so over the top. Love him.
14. Jango - probably the silliest villain of all time.
13. Koala - she will climb higher up. Her story really touched me.
12. Chopper - so superdupercute and I love all the silly things about him.
11. Daz Bones - the most badass of the BW members. The sky is the limit with his ability.
10. Kizaru - he looks awesome, he has an awesome ability. He is awesome, period.
9. Monkey d Garp - gotta love granddaddy. The fists of love has reached me and made me soft for this old loonie.
8. Sanji - I've always liked him and his abilities. However, his ridiculous and unsubtle womanizing is annoying.
7. Ace - he began really growing on me during the arc when we see his and Luffy's past. Though, I did she'd tears when he died too.
6. Mihawk - read all his lines with a sexy spanish accent ( like Antonio Banderas ) and you're gonna find much enjoyment. Although he is I'm this list for his badassery.
5. Crocodile - my favorite villain of all time and the epitome of cool.
4. Sabo - oh man, has he made himself look fcking kickass. He handles bizz like a real boss.
3. Luffy - Of course he has to be on this list.
2. Zoro - everyone knows why, he's simply too damn awesome. Has always been my favorite, always will be.
1. Whitebeard - why? Well, because he's Whitebeard.
Honorable mentions: Smoker, Law, Jinbei, Aokiji, Fujitora, Doflamingo, Diamond josé.
It was extreme hard to decide, but here it is, my top 15:
1. Zoro
2. Bartolomeo
3. Whitebeard
4. Luffy
5. Crocodile
6. Garp
7. Shanks
8. Mihawk
9. Robin
10.Law
11.Buggy
12.Smoker
13.Enel
14.Cavendish
15.Ace
This thread needs something to make it more popular. Rob, why don't you give us some intermediate results?
This thread needs something to make it more popular. Rob, why don't you give us some intermediate results?
Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
Time to Lazarus this thread.
I'll give it a try:
1. Roronoa Zoro - my favourite SH because of his badass attitude and power. Also he does a great Job as first mate although he is not officially. His poor sense of direction makes him also funny and more adoreable.
2. Monkey D. Garp - one of my all-time favourite OP-chars. Everytime a NW-beast hears about Luffy, Garp at least gets mentioned. Also the inner struggle he had during the war gave him an excellent char-development. My totally favourite marine!
3. Mihawk - what can I say about him. He was the first enemy who not just won against one of the SHs, but utterly defeated Zoro. Also badass design and attitude and he sails alone. I can identify with him.
4. Smoker - Badass design and DF-power. He not only reappears from time to time. He learnt to think like Luffy (Raijin Island, anyone?)
5. Monkey D. Luffy - the main character. You just have to like him. His best char-properties are also the worst. He trusts really fast and that sometimes gets him into trouble. And I always get goosebumps when he has a rage-face and defeats the loathsome arc-villain.
6. Kuzan (AoKiji) - my 3rd fav marine. He shined during Robin's flashback and left the navy to get more shit done for true justice. Is friends with Smoker.
7. Sir Crocodile - the 1st villain who defeated Luffy twice. That left marks on my mind. He also was the 1st shichibukai to get defeated. He also shined during the war and his design is nothing but badass.
8. Donquixote Doflamingo - this dude has been hyped since forever and we don't even know what precise intentions he has right now to become PK. A Long time he had the highest (ex-)bounty in OP. That makes him somehow outstanding for me.
9. Sakazuki (AkaInu) - I love him cause I loath him. He killed Ace and will be THAT marine-villain in the NW. Also he became FA (like I was hoping for) to make the ongoing Story more exciting. And only he manages to make a flower-neck-Tattoo lookin totally badass!
10. Usoppe - my 3rd fav SH. Just when our disappointment about his Progress during the TS was at its climax… BAM "Obtained CoO, B....es! His shot at Spandam was displayed even more epic and important.
11. Arlong - the (chronologically) first really loathsome villain in OP IMO. The things he did to Nami and her People were just... disgusting. Anyway he'll always be 100times better as a villain than Hody will ever be no matter how many E.S.s he might eat.
12. Brook - when I heard that Brook was in the very Crew that once left Laboon, my heart literally almost exploded of joy! One of the best moments OP has offered ever! After 50 years someone is still alive to keep that promise. It's bone-shaking! And he looks like a Skeleton-Slash, what else does he need?
13. Franky - his flashback rocked! He not only literally broke Spandam's face, he also tried to stop a moving Train with his bare Hands so that his Mentor couldn't get imprisoned. He also has boomerang-sideburns, nipplee-beams and runs by Cola. Love it!
14. Trafalgar Law - b4 you declare me to a Law-fanboy, note this: It is not because he is in the current arc, it is not because he has the most über-hax-DF-ability. When he first appeared I just liked his design. And I thought:"Wow, he has the same stature as Luffy, pretty smal and skinny. That dude will be important some day..." That thought was b4 the human auction even started. I admit though his ability was also neat since it was oddly creepy and crazy. But back @ SA I liked that ability more than now.
15. Buggy - Oda's favourite villain is my 15th choice. He is nothing but fun! He was in the PK's Crew and its biggest coward.
Although he is so weak he accidently became a saint to the ID-prisoners who are all stronger than him. Somehow he always manages to look good in front of his followers. Sometimes on purpose sometimes against his will. He is and will be the first shichibukai that never truely earned that title and that fact alone makes him one of the funniest OP-chars.
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
TBH that was pretty hard. I didn't start with this lineup and every cut-out and paste-in of characters was a hard decision. I also had Nami and Robin in my top-spots as well as Sengoku and Sanji. A few years ago I would have voted Ace among the top 5 as well as Rayleigh. I only was sure bout Garp to be in the top3. Anyone up there could be at any other place between 1 and 15. It totally depends on my mood and daytime. Additionally it's hard to make a lineup of fav-char if you love each because of different reasons. And the vast number of chars makes it even harder. A fav-SH, fav-marine, fav-villain, fav-shichi would have been done a lot easier.
1: Nico Robin 2: Gecko Moria 3: Luffy. That's as long as my list needs to be. One Piece has tons of great characters, but none have fascinated me and found a place in my heart like these 3.
I was surprised by how tricky I found this list to write, ultimately I think that's because there are so few One Piece characters I actively dislike. But here it is anyway with a few reasons for why I picked them;
1 - Tony Tony Chopper - A nostalgic choice more than anything. During my first read through of One Piece it was Chopper's back story in the Drum Island Arc that really stuck with me and as a result I've always had a soft spot for the guy. On top of this I'm a big fan of all the fights he's had in the series, they tend to be varied, interesting and most importantly fun.
2 - Nico Robin - Criminally underused in the past few years but before the TS she was always such an interesting and dynamic character with a really satisfying character arc. I’m very aware that she’s the only female on this list and I think that the lack of interesting female characters is a failing on Oda’s part but I think Robin is proof that he’s got some crackers in his locker.
3 - Smoker - Smoker's great because quite simply he’s a hero, he does what is right and he looks cool doing it. I’m really liking where his battle with Luffy is going, I think that’s the best on going storyline in the manga and I can’t wait for it’s conclusion. On a personal note I don't think Punk Hazard was a high point for him as a character but I don't really think Punk Hazard was a high point for anyone so I don't really hold it against him.
4 - Magellan - When push comes to shove Magellan get’s shit done and I like him for that although he is a little extreme for my liking but considering his Devil Fruit I hardly think he could be anything less than that. He’s probably the best candidate to be considered the “hero” of the Impel Down Arc and beyond that he makes me laugh and I think he’s got a great design. He just ticks every box.
5 - Kuzan - Like Smoker with a better design and an interesting back story. Given more screen time (panel time??) I think he could become even better.
6 - Brook - Probably the only SH who I’ve preferred post TS (but considering how little time he was a SH pre TS thats hardly surprising). He’s funny, cunning and his tea cup is just the best!
7 - Tom - A truly transformative and inspirational character and his attitude to life is really one to aspire to. He does things with a Don and his sacrifice for Franky was really moving.
8 - Usopp - Was nowhere near this list a few months back but Chapter 758 changed that. It reminded me of everything I loved about Usopp and everything I love about One Piece.
9 - Kaku - Kaku was always really likeable, I don’t think the assassin lifestyle suited him and I think you could see that in how he was in the Enies Lobby Arc. I’d love to see Kaku again in the series.
10 - Enel - Skypeia is my favourite Arc and Enel is at the heart of that, his design is outstanding and boy did he have style (he came back from the dead!). The only reason that I don’t have him higher is that I think his cover story was redundant and that he was perfect as a contained villain in Skypeia. If he ever does return I’d love to be proved wrong but he was at his best when he was a god, he can never be that again.
11 - Baron Tamago - This is purely a decision on style over substance. His design is astounding, is clearly a badass and he wears a tea cup as a hat!!!!!!! As a Brit I value tea over everything else so I will always be a Tamago fanboy. I’m not a massive fan of his colour scheme but wearing all pink seems to be a condition for being a member of Big Mom’s crew.
12 - Vergo - Honestly I’ve found DD’s crew to be a bit of a letdown, which surprises me because in Vergo we got off to such a great start. I’ve already mentioned how I’m not a fan of Punk Hazard but thats more to do with the body-swapping antics and Caesar Clown personally I think the G5 storyline was brilliant and the moment where they realised that their beloved Commander Vergo was nothing more than a heartless fraud was heartbreaking. That storyline worked because Vergo was really well done.
13 - Bartholomew Kuma - I adore his powers and his design. As a character he’s a bit lacking in personality but what with his transformation into a cyborg that’s kind of the point. I can’t wait to learn more about him and discover why he gave up his free will to the WG.
14 - Jinbe - He’s likeable, intelligent and noble, I can’t wait for him to formally join up with the crew, I think he’s going to be a fantastic addition.
15 - Camel - He’s a giant penguin. Nuff said.
1. Gecko Moriah
2. Crocodile
3. Wiper
4. Cowgirl Robin
5. Ace
These are my favorites at the moment.
When does the WSJ poll arrive? For the comparison with the AP forum?
I'll have a go at this
1: Luffy
Yes, I said it, he's the reason I read the series. No need to explain anything.
2: Akainu
I hate him a lot, just like I'm supposed to. That's why he's at the top of the list.
3: Krokus
Because of the running gag thing. It was awesome.
4: Bon Kurei
5: Zoro
I like swords and sanji dissing
6: Rayleigh
Luffy's mentor and overall superb guy.
7: Garp
Quirky but strong, passionate and an idiot, just like a Monkey D should be.
8: Kizaru
he's just really mellow and relax and a bit strange.
9: Norland
Because adventure, that's why.
10: Ussop
Because he is just too funny.
11: Franky
Everything about him is just silly and certainly his design.
12: Buggy
After the war he became a God and a shichibukai, yet he is one of the weakest characters sailing the sea. Also, even though I don't remember the guys name, I liked the story with the guy in the box and the bromance between him and Buggy.
13: Coby
Showcasing greater potential than even Luffy and being trained by Garp is bound to deliver some interesting developments and I like his growing up from wimpy irritating ugly push-over to something that looked like a cool guy just to discover that he is still a wimpy pushover and the pink hair isn't really helping either, still, I see so much potential that I just can't exclude him…
14: Doflamingo
Considering this is somewhat the best flashback I have read in One Piece to date and that Doffy is being set up to be a true psycho demon (my favorite type of villain) he's on the 14th spot with still a lot of chances to get higher while this arc developes.
15: Barto
Because he is the mangafication of all of us :P
1. Sabo
2. Law
3. Ace
4. Luffy
5. Zoro
6. Garp
7. Mihawk
8. Marco
9. Bartolomeo
10. Buggy
11. Rayleigh
12. Kizaru
13. Lucci
14. Rocinante
15. Yokozuna
1. "Future Pirate King" Monkey D. Luffy: yeah, i'm that unoriginal. I like him because he's funny, careless, fearless, reckless, short tempered, gullible, naive, impulsive, caring, kind-hearted and dumb.
2. "Leader of the Pirate Dispatch Organization" Buggy D. Clown: I don't have a particular reason for liking him, i just do.
3. Dadan: Fitting mother of the future pirate king.
4. Akagami no Shanks: I like his laid back attitude.
5. Mr. 2 Bon Clay: All the sacrifices he has made up until this point got him this place. He's a true bro.
6. President of the Strawhats fanclub Bartrolomeo: He's my nakama, we're fellow Luffy fanboys.
7. Pandaman: I'm still waiting for his official introduction.
8. DonQuixote Cora-San: I hate his actual name so i'm going to stick with Cora-san. I like his antics and his kind heart.
9. Caesar Clown: It seems i have a thing for Clowns.
**10. Jango and Fullbody
11. Dellinger:** He's a cruel bundle of cuteness.
12. Duval: Sanji's twin brother and a real bro.
**13. Abdullah and Jeet
14. "Ten Yasha" DonQuijote Doflamingo:** I love to hate him.
15. Kizaru
Don't really care for OP characters individualy.
1.Yonkou
2. Mihawk
Whatever.
1 - Luffy
2 - Chopper
3 - Zoro
4 - Perona

Lol not at all buddy, I'll release the results shortly after the official SJ version is published.
You're right though, more people can still cast their votes!
How sure are we gonna be that you won't tweak the result to be as close to SJ version? Post it a week before or before SJ version or anything pass that is B.S.
How sure are we gonna be that you won't tweak the result to be as close to SJ version? Post it a week before or before SJ version or anything pass that is B.S.
…the results are on these pages.
Anybody else can calculate the totals if they wish to compare them against my posted results lol
Also the whole point of this is to see just how different AP's opinions are to those of the voting SJ readers, there would be no reason for me to tinker with the figures to make them more similar.

2. Doflamingo. Epic speeches, best devil fruit usage in One Piece and one of the most interesting personalities.
3. Zoro. By far my favorite Strawhat with moments like when he took Luffy's pain and for speaking the truth during the Usopp incident / scolding Luffy for not taking things seriously in the New World.
4. Blackbeard. A smarter, more original and less naive version of Luffy. Should have been the main character.
5. Rayleigh. Has one of the best desgins and I love the way he fights. Seems like the nicest dude in One Piece, definitely someone you would want to hang out with.
6. Aokiji. Has become even more interesting after turning rogue. My favorite user of the ice element in fiction.
7. Eustass Kid. Great design, personality and power. Has a lot of potential to rise up through the ranks.
8. Kizaru. Could have been so much better but I feel like his personality and quirks allow for little development. Awesome fighting style though.
9. Fujitora. I like how he is both a master swordsman and a powerful fruit user.
10. Garp. Funny and it was great seeing him balance family and duty. Props for being top tier despite having no devil fruit or weapon.
11. Shanks. Badass as hell but that is about it.
12. Shiryu. Very little panel time but I really like him from what we have seen. Hopefully Zoros final opponent.
13. Law. Would have been higher if he had kept his punk attitude from before the timeskip.
14. Arlong. Great villain who was very intimidating at the time and got more interesting when we learned his backstory.
15. Rob Lucci. Lacks personality but I like that he is a strong zoan, his design and fighting style.
…the results are on these pages.
Anybody else can calculate the totals if they wish to compare them against my posted results lol
Also the whole point of this is to see just how different AP's opinions are to those of the voting SJ readers, there would be no reason for me to tinker with the figures to make them more similar.
So all this 15 named characters people I've been posting are the result? So you have to go through all 10 pages or more and count each character? So in short it will be annoying to give the results now, so rather wait for SJ version to be out then do it once so any other names posted by users will be irrelevant. Oh k.
