Blackbeard is confirmed since the first scan, but not shown. And Buggy have been teased last week.
There is still 10 weeks before the release of the game, so we can expect 5-6 new characters, including Kinemon and "you know who" (they are on the cover of the game) and probably Rebecca, Hancock, Jinbei or Kuzan. (I don't see Kyros making the cut because of Japanese censorship of crippled characters)

This game looks really enjoyable. Gotta love how Sanji kicks Zoro's ass.

The game isn't out for over 2 months. They aren't going to just show everyone right away, and there's still plenty of time.

I would be very surprised at no aokiji. And remember we have only had a dragon in terms of punk hazard so far. Smoker and Caesar are very likely imo

The game will come out in Europe its almost certain since the other games of this series did, so if you dont mind waiting no need to buy a japanese 3DS.

I only know a tiny bit of japanese, but I navigated through and completed jump ultimate stars when I was 12 or 13 years old without knowing a word of the language just fine.

The thing with Anime-based games, is that you need to put them out quickly, since you don't want to release an outdated game. Say this game takes a year to get localized, by that time the story mode, characters, and movesets will be so outdated compared to the Manga/Anime that there would be no point in playing them. No matter how well made these games are, they're are bought for the fanservice, so there is no sense in delaying them. The point is, if the game is being considered for localization, it won't take long to come out here, as was the case with UWR. If we don't hear anything by December/January of the next year, I'd probably start getting worried.

So are Doflamingo, Trebol, and Diamante the only Doflamingo pirates currently confirmed playable? I hope Baby 5 makes it in as a playable characetr because she has an awesome ability. I also hope Pica will be confirmed playable in a later scan.

It bothers me on how the Punk Hazard enemies haven't been shown yet. I don't really expect Vergo or Monet to be playable (even if they have potential), though Ceasar Clown just has to be playable.

Which doesn't make much sense considering that these games are clearly based on the Manga, not the Anime. They may change some color scheme here an' there to follow the Anime, but the movesets and dialogs always followed the Manga closely. I guess they don't want to spoil things for Anime watchers, but Anime watchers shouldn't follow the game in the first place. With that being said, I guess it does make sense for them to avoid spoilers if only not to limit their consumer-base.

Not that it matters as there is no one audience, but his game is heavily targeted at the younger anime viewers. There is even anime theme songs pre-order incentives. Years ago each game stated 'From TV Animation - One Piece' in each title, that's not the case anymore, but if it includes voice acting surely it's based of the anime.
The cover art doesn't really matter. By the time the game is released said character will be revealed. It's all about hype and if there is one place to spoil it you just have to visit this thread each week

He appears in one of the trailers as a stage hazard, so I was hoping he's playable. He surely will be a support character at least, and a shoe-in for the sequel if he misses the playable characters boat this time around.
