Hey there, Toy Soldier!
-
-
The picture of Use carrying Luffy, Zoro, Cavendish pretty much confirms that the story mode will at least go as far as chapter 748-749, so this pretty much means Picka "should" be playable. I won't hold my breath though, as he was absent from the previous scan. Still this means the game is not following the anime which is great news. Hopefully, "him" will have most of his new abilities included.
-
So, as hinted 4 days ago, Diamante, as well as Bartolemo, are confirmed playable.
I wonder what means the picture with Caribou. Does anyone understand Japanese ?
-
-
so kid is confirmed as support only. Still unsure about that caribou picture though. But i guess buggy is also confirmed?
-
Gameplay's being shown on the Direct.
-
Super grand battle was shown off in the nintendo direct. Confirms diamante as playable like we thought and shows footage of other characters. Also punk hazzard dragon stage

I'm curious how they made Leo, of all characters, playable. I'm the only one who finds amusing Iwata talking about One Piece? Makes he looks like a fan.

Leo's not playable, he's a stage hazard

I'm liking how you can switch between your second character to extend combos.

Man it looks good. Love the awesome grand battle style specials.
-
Woah! It looks amazingly fluid! It must come to the west, seriously. This, Pokemon, Super Smash Bros and Animal Crossing are all I need to justify a future buy of a 3DS.
Now that I think about it…might it (the fluidity) be an indication of 1-attack-button? Cuz this could put the whole game to shame, don't ya think?
I just rewatched the trailer and could spot Ace carrying a wood crate around in Phunk Hazard scenario...oh, boy.
On the other side, I'm glad to see Jola in the Thousand Sunny one. Had hopes of her being a support, but I can't really complain...

yeah it looks like the Grab button is back, since you can see Usopp pick up Franky as well. Assuming we have a Guard and Jump Button as well, and it looks like R is for Supports and L for Specials, controls might be identical to the Gigant series
-
Never played Gigant but was the game that mind numbing simple? I'm hoping that this game has at least two attack buttons.
-
Gigant had 2 or 3 didn't it? Probably 2. It played a lot like smash

No Gigant had one attack button, and then jump, grab, and guard. Holding L and hitting one would be specials and R was supports (or viceversa, i dont remember exactly cause i stopped playing cause it got repetitive and boring… :getlost:

Won't hold my breath for groundbreaking gameplay. . .but boy do the stages look awesome! Chinjao breaks the Colosseum in half, the underwater stage with the bigass Sea Kings in the background, duking it out atop Punk Hazard's dragon. . .great stuff. Quite impressed.
And it seems a good chunk of the fun will be riding and using the different animals/vehicles. Megalo, Ucy, Rhino tank, a giant beetle. . .if the gameplay options end up being lackluster, we'll at least have all these fun mounts to mess others with.
-
So how's the guarding? Is it like Gigant or like Grand Battle?
-
OK, so I just bought a 2DS (I know) for this game! I really hope it will be released in Europe. So now I'm playing Unlimited World Red.
-
Was just replaying Gigant Battle 2 earlier today, and decided to go with Doflamingo to see how his moveset changed between his different incarnations as a playable character. To my surprise, I realized how faithful his moveset is to his actual abilities that were shown way later in the manga. His moveset was based on his single attack against Ors Jr. in the war, and yet what seemed like a made-up moveset back when the game was first released, is now a pretty faithful adaptation of his overall abilities.
What surprised me the most was his LV1 super, that looks very similar to Dofy using Conqueror's Haki, despite the fact that was only revealed much later in the series. Also his move where he's suspended in the air, is something Dofy can actually do, but was never shown prior to the timeskip. The same thing can be said about his cutting ability "Goshikito", as it was never showed how he managed to cut Oars at that point, and yet Ganbarion decided to make it a part of his DF power.
I could go in and on about how weird Doflamingo's made up moveset turned out to be pretty accurate to the manga, despite the game getting released 2 years before he showed any of the said abilities. Ganbarion truly are the best developers when it comes to One Piece games.
I also noticed that they included his LV3 super from Gigant Battle 2 in Super Grand Battle, which is a pretty cool nod.

News for this game is pretty slow….
-
-
Foxy confirmed?!
No lol I mean news is pretty slow when the game isn't that far away.
-
Not really: on monday we had the opening of the website as well as a very short blog update, on thursday we had a scan and friday, we had the first gameplay video of the game.
Not to bad for a game that will be released in 10 weeks.
-
Now that I've taken another look at the gameplay trailer, I see that more than a few characters have moves lifted from Gigant Battle 2. Some of the original move created by Ganbarion to be specific. I think I'm cool with that.

When you're excited for a game that's two months away you can't help but to feel that way sometimes.
No need for the sarcasm thanks.

Sweet! Will get to these in a bit.
-
EDIT: whoops PV posted above me. Missed that somehow.
Glad to see Rayleigh finally playable in something.

So…the one-attack-button strategy was confirmed...at least, we have a little twist with the slidepad thing-y. Not much mora to say than that the background of the stages are stunningly beautiful and full of details, and that I'm guessing that the little orb in Law's health bar is related to his 'Room' ability, limiting it --- a bit like the Mana Orb in the Diablo's series.
-
That's exactly how Gigant Battle worked too. You had default, up, down, forward-down and forward-up combos for both in the air and ground, 10 combos total. I never really got the problem some people had with it.

That music in the middle of the video sounded like a faster arrangement of Doflamingo's battle theme from Unlimited World RED.
-
_The video show several supports from Donquixote Family and Drake too.
Well, pre-ordered today…._
-
I can say for sure that I'm loving the music. They really kicked the music up a notch with UWR and this. Can't wait until this gets announced for the west.
-
Well this has been enough of a push for me to pre-order it. Can't wait!
