Damn you Nintendo! Why couldn't you have made the 3DS region free?

Had you done that, I would have kept my 3DS instead of selling it when I moved to America. I could have had Unlimited Cruise SP, Romance Dawn, Unlimited World Red (have it for vita atm) and now this all on one handheld. :((

I'm not sure yet if they are going with Gigant Battle's design (proportional) or if they are going with Grand Battle's design (big head); I would like the first one more.

Anyway, kinda excited to see how they are coming with it. I can't help but think that Ganbarion should've waited for 2015, so that they could throw in more characters, since we already have a Dressrosa based stage on Unlimited Red R…but, well, the more the better.

Awesome news. I'm kinda confident it will come to Europe one day.
I hope it plays like Gigant Battle with a few improvements.
From the look of it, we already have 14 playable characters 99% confirmed (9 SH + Dofla + Ace + Fuji + Shanks + Law).
I can spot Barto in the scan but he looks like a support character in that screenshot.

I'm expecting a 30-40 playable roster. From most likely to less likely :

It looks more like the PS1 Grand Battle games than the PS2 ones. So more of a Smash Bros than a Powerstone. Seems pretty cool.

So is it more a grand battle or a gigant battle? Or are they both the same gameplay wise as i only played the gigant series. Really hope this comes over here seeing as gigant 2 didn't. but with all the recent one piece games it is more likely.

I wonder if this is the game the director of Unlimited World Red said he had wanted to make, or if it's a separate project. Either way I definitely want this. We haven't had a good One Piece fighter in a long time and I'd love to see the return of the Grand Battle games. Hopefully we get a console fighter again in the future, that's to the level of the good anime fighters that have come out in the past few years.

This looks closer to Gigant Battle than Grand Battle, but as long as it has more than one attack button this game will be phenomenal!

Also, the costume choices are interesting. Everyone is in their starting Dressrosa outfits, except for Luffy and Brook. I really hope Franky's hair isn't like that for the whole game :getlost:

We just might see this, they've been releasing the games in America and Europe since Pirate Warriors 1, granted there's only been four since then but still they're making their way out of Japan. Plus with every release we're seeing improvements every time, physical releases and everything.

I am 99% confident we'll see this in the states.

If this is the Playable list from Gigant Battle 2

Assuming we cut the Pre-Time Skips (6), Magellan, Coby, Kidd, Drake, Marco, Caribou, Decken, and Vivi [14 cuts, 31 Remaining]
Then add Fujitora, Sabo, and hopefully Kinemon and Z. Total 35

I think that would be a reasonable/expected list, no?

Another interesting note, we can see Pre-Timeskip (Top) and Post-Timeskip (Bottom) Law in the two gameplay pics on the left. Hopefully it means alternate costumes, and not multiple playstyles of law, considering his Gigant Battle 2 moveset is incorrect now

Also in the top pic, there is a character behind Doflamingo, I can't tell who it is, but it looks like Sanji. He's wearing a blue vest, white shirt, and dark pants. Also Bartolomeo support behind Fujitora

This seems awesome! If this is barely coming this year in Japan, then maybe we could get this title sometime next year. Since we got Romance Dawn and UW: Red this year, maybe we'll be super lucky and get UC: SP and Super Grand Battle next year. Please let this happen~! XD

Not sure there is a thread to post this : with its suuuuper long story and its incredible amount of characters with unique skills, I think One Piece would make the best Lego Video Game ever !

Yeah, sorry. I'll cease mentioning it further, though iirc, I think someone hear mentioned that Namco said they "might consider it if demand was there". I just enjoyed UA so much that I'd love to have its sequel in some shape or form (legitimately). ^^; In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy UW: Red and look forward to more info on SGB. ^^
