@Razh:
A broken neck is a broken neck, apparently. Also, completely different situations and also, this whole arc is a mess.
Also, that situation only made Buffalo look weaker.
I really doubt a rotation man, who can make his head rotate, would suffer from a broken neck.
He was defeated by Kyros throwing him into a wall. It's not like he lost an arm, so his upper body strength should still be amazing.
And saying that this "whole arc is a mess" doesn't excuse bad arguments. He proved right there that he was way above the level of a regular executive.
@Razh:
Uh, no. A sword requires an arm to use. Shanks apparently learned to fight better with his right arm than with his lost left in the last 10 years. You can never completely adapt to losing your leg like that.
Oh, it's almost like you're trying to put real physics into this.
@Razh:
You're making it seem like swordsmanship is just standing still and waving your arms around. No movement is involved, right? Geez.
If it's about real life swordsmanship, you also need the other arm for balancing purposes (heck, your life would change as much as if you lost a leg) which means you would also lose in terms of technique and mobility, but this isn't real life, so it shouldn't be hard to excuse unrealistic swordsmanship (flying slashes, swinging swords with your mouth, deflecting cannonballs) as well as an one-legged warrior.
After all, people can't walk in the air by kicking it really hard. Or walk and kick with a broken leg with little problem. Or use their legs to create air slashes. One Piece legs can do some pretty awesome things.
@Razh:
And I'm not contesting Kyros is crazy mobile (even though he shouldn't be), I'm just saying the fight was bad. Diamante looked really bad. Kyros got a needless wound in the leg that served no purpose. In the end, Diamante looks really incompetent. It doesn't look like Kyros is that good.
Of course, you're free to disagree, but at least put some more thought into what you write.
It's not even about the fight which I thought was just average (I liked Diamante's attack). It's about how a strong, one-legged warrior in One Piece is so hard to believe for you for some reason.
Kyros defeated two executives, one with very little difficulty too, but apparently instead of acknowledging the character as strong, you think the other characters were inconsistently weak simply because of disbelief.
And I don't even like Kyros that much as he's pretty generic in terms of fighting and personality (Thunder Soldier was much more interesting), but I do think the story did a good job in portraying how strong he was.
