! Sure we all love characters like Zoro, Law and Doffy. They are amazing, they have style and make us dream, but what about the characters that were not created with the purpose of being that way?
If every character was like those, the One Piece plot simply wouldn´t work. If every character was like Crocodile, Whitebeard and Shanks, then those characters simply wouldn´t stand out.
! The story needs the average man, the regular citizen, and there is no character that embodies that persona like Pagaya.
! He is the closest to you and me that One Piece has. He is a normal man trying to make out the best of his life. He simply wants to live a peaceful live, he has no strength, no special skill, no reason to stand out, yet, when his country was in danger he was the first man to stand up and fight for it.
It´s easy to do that when you have amazing powers and companions, but Pagaya doesn´t. He is a simple man caught up in circumstances that went beyond his control and knowing that all odds were against him, he still tried to do something about it. How many of you have felt that way? How many of you found yourselves in a similar situation?
! Pagaya is Genzo, he is Nojiko, he is the citizens of Dressrosa, he is part of what makes One Piece great.
He makes other characters stand out by giving an increased sense of danger to the situations our protagonists find themselves into.
Why would we worry about Skypie if there were no habitants in it? Why would we worry about Cocoyasi village if every character was as strong as Luffy?
! Pagaya may be forgettable, but he is important, and it´s time we recognise the importance of these kind of characters in the plot so… …come on everyone. Help Pagaya win this race!
