The two episodes of the flashback been with solid art and animation,
I wish every episode been like that at least the art and the backgrounds they really bad in One Piece most of the time.
One Piece anime needs despretly for more reality touch to the art.
That was just the way it should have been, but man if I'm not ready for next week's ep like ASAP!!
This was a pretty good episode. The art was fairly consistent and the animation was decent when it needed to be. I'm really liking how the anime is portraying the flashback, everything just seems so much more tragic than it did in the manga.
Next week looks like it's gonna be really good, I'm excited to hear who voices Dellinger, and I hope the Law vs. Doffy fight gets some well animated filler.
I prefer the last episode, but this episode was okay, good to see Monet again~
I also like Senor Pink's voice - really fits him imo.

Re-watching the episode now helped me remember that Toei is actually 31-32 chapters ahead now (due to the stretching they did 4-6 episodes ago iirc), so the next 2-3 episodes should be packed.

Episode was good enough, but tons of padding that really hurt the episode for me.
Great episode! Like I said before, I can't wait until everyone sees how horrible Doflamingo really is.

good direction; its been a few decent episodes now cool
Very nice direction in this one coupled with some quality art and animation. The visuals in the first half in particular were excellent for this series, very creative stuff. We also got to see some bloodletting in this episode which added to the grim atmosphere. The second half was a bit more talky exposition but had some pretty nice artwork as well as some nice key animation.
The only minor problem with this one was pacing. Padding was pretty noticeable here including some reused animation, though the animation was pretty slick so it was more forgivable.
Though I have to wonder now…how is King Riku still sane after all this?

Watching this episode drew some nice parallels between Luffy and Doflamingo that didn't really register for me before. Just like on Fishman Island, the citizens are desperate enough that they don't care if it's pirates who save them. Both captains became heroes to the respective countries. As an added bonus, both crews easily siezed the palaces! It makes a really nice contrast.

! I… really hope not! I'd imagine him to have either high-pitched and soft voice like Cavendish, or prepubescent voice kinda like with Fukuoru. But not Wanze! It's too raspy and annoying!

In most cases the general populace doesn't do so until after the fact. Usually it's only other fighters or persons of note consciously relying on the Strawhats.
The main point is that I didn't realize how much Doflamingo's coup was like a dark version of what the SHs have done so many times.
Solid episode, loved this panel.

While I still wish she'd get more screentime overall, there was some high-quality Robin this episode. That look of dismay at the end was great, but the real highlight for me was her "I'm so mad at Doflamingo right now" line. She really works well as comic relief!

This was a very good episode I have to say. I quite enjoyed it. I do always enjoy seeing more Viola. Also the way Doflamingo's army marched into the palace and just took over without a care in the world was epic.
But the best moment goes to this.

wait i though the characters voice actor was already revealed? I was almost positive,as they did some early sneak peek of the officers,like toei likes to do these days.

Last episode was great this one is grade A superb, fantastic directing by Tetsuya Endo.

Completely agree with this.
There were a lot of, uh.. interesting choices made with this episode.
The first half was a bit of a roller coaster ride. Some parts were nice, some not so much. I really enjoyed the little extended filler of Viola and The Family. It was great seeing Monet speak again and getting some Vergo name-drops as well. Tied everything together and it didn't feel like padding at all.
Now about King Riku..
His whole killing spree could have easily been about three minutes shorter and nothing would be missed. We get it, you're sad about killing people and the people are sad about being killed and everybody's sad. The manga handled this bit better. Sometimes less is more.
And while we're on the subject of Riku. What's going on with his VA? Those noises are something I'd expect from a weasel being repeatedly stomped, not a grown man.
Looking forward to next week's. Hopefully it'll break this stink train of episodes we've had to suffer through lately.
I enjoyed this episode. The animation of the officers walking felt weird. But the rest was really inspired. Especially liked the introduction of Doffy's monster trio.
