The problem with this chapter is that Arlong park predicted most of it before the spoilers were released? Executives rolling the colosseum fighters? Check. Kyros going after Diamante? Check. The ony thing that really came as a surprise was that scene with Belllamy at the beginning. Sometimes I wish this was a text based thing instead of a manga so it could cover more ground each week.
Chapter 753: " Battle"
-
-
Feels like the last couple of months of One Piece has just been the characters running around and jumping to different characters every couple of pages. Can we just get a fight please or at least the flashback. Also I hate Bellamy.
The Dellinger scene reminded me of Freiza impaling Krillin, I was kind of expecting him to start shaking Suileman around like Freiza
It makes me feel bad knowing that so many people dislike Bellamy. Despite how big of a fan I am of him I still have to acknowledge that since so many people hate him that Oda dropped the ball with Bellamy somewhere.

I hate dellinger so much its unreal.
Do think that he's badly written or is it just a character preference thing?

It's not that Oda wrote him in a shitty way. It's more like his constant irritating fans made him pretty goddamn annoying every time he shows up.

@Miss:
Why do hate Dellinger?
Probably envious that he has sexier legs than him
-
Duel is a fight between two people :)
But i know what you mean. On the one hand it seems like Doffla should be way above Luffy, but on the other hand he needs to make progress towards Admirals and Yonkous so seems like Doffla is great stepping stone as he's somewhere in between people like Law and Younkous. And to be hones some other people like Croc were above Luffy too, but he managed to beat them in the end. Maybe Law will help a bit then will get beat, and then Luffy will finish Doffla alone.
Doff is also well rested compared to Luffy. I hope Luffy shows some new moves.

Bellamy fans? Since when?
-
Bellamy fans? Since when?
The only fans of him I know are the fans in the coliseum, so him having fans is canon, which annoys people. Really I think some people started to like Bellamy after he told Luffy he wouldn't laugh at him, so people really want to see him do stuff. I haven't seen a whole lot of that though, maybe because it got drowned out from all the Sabo and Fujitora stuff.

@The:
From the forums, it seems that most of us do that, especially since they come out before One Piece. It does make One Piece look better, but it won't stop me or others from complaining if there is something we don't like about the chapter. Heck, Toriko was good, especially when compared to Naruto this week, but it didn't stop me from talking about my dissatisfaction of some of this chapter. I was ready to complain about this One Piece chapter until I finished and saw it touched on other points that hadn't been touched on for a while. And while the author doesn't have to do what we want, it can still be disheartening when something doesn't go our way, or worse, the author is making huge mistakes.
It seems to me that people always want to complain about something! Well, of course! There is no such a thing as a perfect work. Some people love OP, some others hate and think it's the worst thing ever, and that's okay after all. Nevertheless, it gets tiresome to read such bitterness and negativity in the forums. At some points I feel like shouting "Well, if Oda sucks so bad, why don't you go read something else?" Furthermore, I despise the self-aggrandizing that underlies many of the comments. It's as if they were saying, "If I was the author I would do so much better." Those are the worst kind! I'm not saying of course that you have to like and agree with every thing the author does. All I'm saying is sometimes you just have to accept the fact that stories don't always go the way you want them to go

Some of the stuff might seem like it, but I think a number of the stuff is legitimate complaints, though can be quite subjective. It seems to be less that they think they could do better and more what they prefer, which I can't blame them. If it gets bad enough that they hate things and their only reasons are because it didn't go how they wanted it to, then that's a problem. From what I've been reading, it's part things not going how they wanted, but also a lot more pointing out what doesn't work for them. I prefer it that way, where opinions on certain things are split because of individual tastes, because that makes things more interesting for discussion. From what I can tell, this hasn't gotten to levels of the Bleach/Naruto forum, which everyone agrees the story is terrible and only makes fun of it. This thread seems to be everyone likes the series, but there are certain things they don't like, and more discussion comes out when talking about what one doesn't like usually than everyone agreeing about what they like.

Man this has really been the choppiest arc ever. Yes even more than Buggy's.
-
Near definite Dellinger does not have a DF, unless it's hat horn related. I'm still curious as hell as to exactly what he, Lao G & Machvise do.
Pity about Suleiman. I kinda felt for the guy after he had that moment with Rebecca. The running joke of people randomly hitching rides Luffy continues to amuse me greatly. As does Cavendish complaining about aesthetics.
I still think that Dellinger might be Bully fruit user or something like that
Some time ago I said that he looked like he was crying Bloody Tears when he was finishing off Bellamy
and thats sign of "wanting to harm somebody mentally and physically" as Urban Dictionary says(I know its far from best source) or here http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TearsOfBlood
He also seems to make fun of his enemies- he made fun of Bellamy, he also made fun out of Suleimans name before KOing him so its something that Bully does. Bully fruit would be cool imo if he for
example gets stronger more his enemy gets mentally/physically damaged. I was writing about this and his horns many weeks ago already so DF is not impossible for him just yet. -

I guess it could be inducing fear into him as a bully, so the guy thinks their is multiple of him and gets scared.

I would say it might have been after effect of his fast movement or part of his ability. More probably first thing.
But many Dellingers effect in this chapter looked like few people making fun of somebody weaker so it goes along with Bully-like patter for Dellinger that I pointed out quite some time ago.Btw his design itself does mental damage - to enemy of his and to readers

Man, it's hard to take critics seriously when some of them act this obnoxious.
At least Darth is polite.

On page from this weeks chapter - its obvious that Blood came from enemy. On Page from before with Bellamy its not.
Its assumption that my thinking is impossible to happen in OP in this case while we didnt seen all from Dellinger yet. -

Dude, you are defending this manga as if your life depends on it. You've probably written a whole book already. Keep it up, it's quite funny to read you.

A bully fruit is a really loooooong stretch.

What's wrong with defending an arc that I like?
I just don't have the same problems as you, like nostalgia goggles and impatience.

It could be fast movements, but part of me doubts it because I don't recall that happening with anyone else. Of course it could be speed because the guy had no clue what was going on, as well as the fact that he's supposed to have this crazy person look, so having it look like there are multiple of him fits that theme. Either way he's gone up on my list as one of my favorites of the Doflamingo officers. Only other one I really like at the moment is Diamante because his ability is interesting and I'm excited to see how he uses it against Kyros.

Hey Darth,
Having fun with this week's installment of One Piece, are you :)
You don't have to be convinced that these tools-for-Luffy-and-plot-to-use,-and-less-actual-characters will be used later. You can expect it
The plot (as you like to call it recently) is building an army of allies for Luffy. Oda has decided to have some fun with the colosseum guys.
Blackbeard pirates beliefe in fate.
I believe in plot.
I'm uncertain if I buy them being that much useful, but everything is possible, I guess… We shall see.
-
A simple setup won't promise you an epic finale. Remember kid.
-
I usually understand it when a chapter get's a lot of criticism on the internet, but not this time. I really liked this chapter

To bad for Blackbeard, by believing in fate, he's believing in the plot. Farthest he'll go is being the last Yonkou to be taken down, or if Plot dictates it, he'll be Pirate King until overthrown by Luffy. Only way to beat the plot/fate is to be Aizen.
-
IDK why, but every time I read Bian, my brain translates it into Biatch! Does anyone feel similar bout this?
The only Thing I was concerned bout this week is that 2 weeks ago, Oda teased us with Law's FB and now it seems the last 2 pages of the chapter before never existed. Sometimes Oda is really trolling us!
I do like how the fights will unfold: Kyros vs Diamante, probably Hakuba vs Trebol etc…
Back in the days of TB I skipped the fight chapters cause I wasn't very interested in them. Chapters I like the most are the ones between 2 arcs where you can see what happens in the OP-world around our SHs. I'll probably shit bricks after this arc with BM's tea Party or this year's Reverie, it'll get awesome!
-

Those chapters are always great, especially the ones after Water 7 and Marineford, those were quite good. I have a feeling the stuff that will happen between this arc and next will be great. Doflamingo being exposed and overthrown by Luffy is going to create a lot disarray in the world. I would've complained about this chapter if it didn't have some focus on the officers, the people of Dressrosa, and the Tonatta's. At this point we will get all of the flashback right before the Doflamingo fight.
-
It's weird seeing Luffy fight on with the coliseum fighters instead of his crew. I feel that pre-timeskip it was implied that Luffy was weaker without his crew, by failing to save his mission to save Ace despite help from some of the strongest pirate in the world (admittedly against the strongest marines in the world). These coliseum fighters are nice…but I kind of want them to go away. This chapter fills me with the fear that instead of losing, they're going to turn things around perhaps win this fight. I could be wrong though, I'm just nervous cause I really like Donflamingo's crew, and I wouldn't want them taken out by a bunch of side characters.

Silly question, but is the cover story indicating that Jinbei is heading to luffy and the others now? or just back home?
-

I don't think it was ever concrete. Last time we saw Jinbei, he had dropped Caribou off to the Marines. We can probably assume that he was heading back to the Island. This cover story will probably show where he ends up going to give an idea when he will meet up with the straw hats again.
-
He will likely move to his own fishmen crew, to cut his ties with Big Mam.
-
Hmmm, the Sea Police-dog in cover story. Good guy? Or Bad?
-
I liked this chapter, even if most of it was movement. Bellamy confronts Doffy, and the Dwarves in the factory finally understand whats up. It may have not been the most radical chapter, but chapters like these lead up to what will undoubtedly be a ridiculous showdown.
-
With those supporter's from the tournament, i can finally see clearly Luffy becoming The King of Pirates. I wonder if they all become his allies after this arc.
-
Do think that he's badly written or is it just a character preference thing?
I want to say he's badly written but I would be lying.. He is one of the better officers IMO but I dont even wanna see his face again.
… its the first time I feel like this towards a character ever.

Lol I'm just wondering where the hate's coming from is all.
I've irrationally hated a lot of characters though, so don't worry.
You're as sane as I am.

Don Chinjao must be so proud his family is all over such an epic battle, nice hurrah for the old generation types.

Hmmm, the Sea Police-dog in cover story. Good guy? Or Bad?
The way it's being presented suggests bad, especially with this Manga since it's a law enforcer. My love of dogs and disdain for cats wants it to be the opposite.

I am not sure but you know when you hate something not because you hate it but because something you hate is somewhat.. related to it? like how you might you hate an artist because someone you hate loves him?
I was reading the chapter at 6 AM half asleep and while I was on that page where he headbutted suliman we had a power outage and its the worst time ever for that (its Ramadan for us, the hottest month of the year + we're fasting) and I guess thats why I feel so much hatred for him now lol.

Hahaha, that's best reason I've ever heard of for hating a fictional character.
I genuinely love this lol.
