It makes me sad when they re-animate old scenes like the Loguetown one with the good old palette…

Pretty good episode, but Toei is making some really weird choces when it comes to budget. The first half until eyecatch had a pretty good animation when Barto revealed his true fanboy self, but other than that it was mostly lacking, especially the clash with Cavendish.
Then the second part comes and the animation is splendid, lots of amazing drawings and fluid movement, Luffy rarely looks as good as in this episode. The thing is, that all that happens in this part is mostly just talking, it's pretty important for the story, but when they have this extra budget for this scenes why not spend it on those that would make a better use of money? I don't want to come out as someone who only complains, but I never ceases to amaze me how bad budget management is. They don't need more money, only put a little more thought on how to spend it.
The only reason I stayed this late to watch this ep were Barto scenes and well, they weren't amazing, but still well done. They didn't censore it as much as I was afraid they would.
Also, I noticed something that picked my curiosity - Barto seems to talk with the same quirk/dialect (?) as Duval (adding darabechcha or something to his lines, sorry I don't know any japanese). Maybe someone who knows this language could share a few words about it?
Looks like there were some good animators looking at the credits. Takara, Tomita and…Hokuto Sakiyama?! The hell?!

Hm… maybe he did Barto's flashback? Tomita's scene was definitely Rebecca crying and Takara's was her little scuffle with Lucy, right? There was nothing else that really stood out to me.
One of the really enjoyable episodes in Dressrosa. The good old Ost's, sakuga scene at the end and good source material.

I think Sakiyama just did that distance shot of Luffy and Cavendish fighting. Takara did the flashback and Tomita of course did Rebecca's declaration at the end.
This was a good chapter and a good episode too. A collection of different scenes but still focused which is great given Oda's recent hit-and-run storytelling methods. Interesting choice of music for Luffy and Blackbeard's brief talk.

…Well this seems to be the second week in a row where I'm left wondering if I watched the same episode as the rest of you, because honestly, this episode just seemed... off, to me. The music-placement was weird, the tone was all over the place, and the art and animation seemed to switch from really good to really bad at the drop of a dime.

I thought this was a really good episode. Bartolomeo (amazing), and Blackbeard, and the Rebecca/Prisoners scene were the highlights.
Surprised they reanimated the Loguetown execution scene. The quality was almost movie-level.
There were some minor padding near the beginning of the episode, but it didn't last too long.
Great music choice when Luffy and BB have their little chat. Art and animation overall were pretty good. According to Crossword, we had some talented people working on this week's episode.
651 looks exceptionally good. Gonna keep my fingers crossed.

Barto's fanboyism over Luffy is funny.
Pretty good episode, Tomita's scene was superb. Everything with Barto and Burgess/Blackbeard was nicely done as well, and I liked they reanimated some scenes from the past.
The magistral moment is when luffy was talked with Burgess, i'm so excited to see the moment where luffy will fight against Burgess.

That wasn't the work of "budget" or an "animation spike". That's just the difference between a skilled animator and a not-so-skilled animator.

Top of the line animation for Rebecca (and her tits) while she lays around the floor crying, but consistent horse crap during important fight scenes for the last two weeks. Good thing I've long since stopped trying to rationalize their priorities.
It was an okay episode. Certainly more enjoyable than last week's. Bartolomeo's adorable crush on his senpai, Blackbeard's VA and the soundtrack were the only things that saved this episode for me. But seriously though, the brusque transitions between shit art and good art is really jarring and not handled well at all.

Yeah i don't read the manga even though youtube spoiled who getting the flare flare fruit -___- but from her getting a flashback of her past i could def see her joining but what will she bring to the crew, she doesn't look to strong to me
