Who is Maui Mallard ?

I was listening to the OST of "Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow" a old game featuring "Donald Duck". And I saw this image in this forums. You see the character "Molly Mallard" ? I always thought that this Maui Mallard character was a alias for Donald Duck or his name in Europe.

But when I saw that image I thought…maybe they have a connection.

Do they have ?

I think cartoon/comic creators just like alliteration for character names.
