How was your Day 2 (general chat)

Eh Reading seems fine enough from what i've heard. Just glad to have you back.
You've heard much of Reading? Most people know it because of the double meaning to its name that very quickly ceases to be funny when you live here.
-
Single just means you're free and ready to mingle
-
Glad to see you back Print, purple sugar <3
Work: Today I had to hang the paintings on the walls and arrange the sculptures. Then I had to help a user in the library …. Busy day..
Life: Today I finally managed to send the prize to Noqanky.
My dog is better, she is still limping.

Well a former lover of mine moved there when she met her lover after her lover after me.
So she's been updating me on the people of reading and their foibles.

Most people don't even know about the foibles. I mean, Reading wouldn't be Reading without its foibles.

That quiz show was so awesome, I will definitely try harder next time so that I can get. that. prize!
My dog is better, she is still limping.
I must have missed it - did you tell us what the vet said? Do you expect her to make a full recovery?
Good luck! I hope that she will be fully well again soon.

Thing's i've heard said about Reading.
-The people around there look like they've come out of every case that's ever been on judge judy.
-Stealing bicycles is very close to being a regional passtime.
-Nobody can go out and do anything without drinking heavily.
Buuut i think she moved to one of the worse parts of that town/city/place of dwelling.

That's pretty generic 'rough area UK'. For my own safety, I tend to avoid those parts where I can.
Reading's not exactly a tourist city, but it's got enough going for it that it's also not just a London commuter town like so many areas a similar proximity to the Big Smoke. There's an award-winning pie restaurant, a ruined medieval abbey, a canalside shopping centre with a mini golf course with animatronic dinosaurs, and for some reason a Clas Ohlson that got lost and ended up way out of Sweden.

Double thanks !!
1° thanks: Now I'm embarrassed , thank you so much for liking my game. We'll see in January with another prize.
2° thanks: I still have to go to the vet (he is traveling at the moment and he will return next week).

That's weird, neat and just plain suprising all at the same time.
First step Reading, then the world!
But what i found strange about Read' was that fish was so damn expensive, you guys live on an island next to Norway for christ sake, there's no need to overcharge on the fishies. If i lived there i'd have to cutdown on the salmon i can tell ya.

Oh..It´s time to go to the movies to watch the premiere of the new Saint Seiya movie.
My dog is better, she stopped crying when she was caught.
-
My day was fine and normal. Just an usual going to the working day program

Today, on a Swedish pronunciation class, we learnt the difference between saying: "I will have six film rolls" and "I would like porn movies".
Luckily we only have to use only one of this, and we all know digital cameras need no rolls :ninja:
! Jag vill ha sex filmer. Jag vill sexfilmer.
! Na° da° sa°, jag vill ha sex sexfilmer!
Today was a good day~ -
So what do you say if you would like to have six porn film film rolls?
-
@Print:
So what do you say if you would like to have six porn film film rolls?
Jag vill ha sex sexfilmfilmar.
I think. Then the shop assistant will slowly back away and push the panic button.
Moustache+weird smile+strange questions that have no reason to be asked=a terrifying sight to behold

Today I got a present from a client simply for having done my job. It was a very good present too, I was very good present too, I was pretty shocked (a bag and wallet from Japan). So, even though it was extremly hectic today it turned out to be pretty sweet.
Sweet two days in a row, the dinner I had with my friends at AG yesterday was divine.I hope tomorrow will be just as good but… probably not... I got the present for helping the hostess of an Ikebana workshop redecorate one of our rooms pretty drastically (and then helping in general) and it's going to be used tomorrow... so I'll have a short amount of time to put everything back into place before our pedagogue (not the same meaning in swedish as it's english, he's not very strict) comes in to have his workshop in it. Opsy.
But then there's the election! And cake! So it should be good... if the ones I vote for win.
-
My first day on my extension course, as I thought, today was the "tutorial" class.
For my surprise, today my girlfriend took me to a german festival, she didn't told me nothing about this festival, and I didn't knew about it.
Yeah, nice surprise.
-
my boyfriend applied for the FBI and apparently they are interested in him. dunno if it'll pan out or where he'll end up if it does, but it's something he's been interested in for awhile.
i have to give a presentation this week for a client who's hired me to do a commercial for local tv. little nervous but i'll be ok whatever happens. been taking more hours at work too because georgia power is crawling up my ass
-
Anyone here would buy a chocolate popsicle that costs 6 dollars ? :getlost:
My dog is better, she stopped limping, but now she's with a swollen face…strange..If everything is right, I will go to the vet tomorrow, first thing.
Oh, yeah.. Today I danced with my GF, this time we danced songs from the Rhythm Heaven Fever game.
-
At around 1.20 tonight it was final - the Swedish Democracts win 13% of the votes in the election. They started off at 14,6% when the votes had begun to be counted (we start in the south and that's where they're most popular, in some parts they got over 30% of the votes) and a friend assured me it wouldn't last but here we are. I feel sick only after eating a god damn pear for breakfast now. Damn it.
-

Hoping Ringside was one of them, and that by "dancing" what you actually mean is "posing"
-
Tomorrow's my first day at the restaurant. And i'm just constantly alternating my mood betwenn excited and worried.

Today, the best programmer on the team got promoted above the previous boss, who has been blocking any modernisation, encouraging bad practice, and being very patronising towards me and the other women on the dev team. We were all holding a party over the office channel he isn't in afterwards.
Also, I seem to have caught the moths…not had any new ones flying around my room for approaching a week now. Going to give it until the weekend just in case, but I can only assume one of the bags I put inside a sealed vacuum bag last week was the source of the lingering infestation. Still have to deal with the sealed bags and boxes, but for once, there's hope. Even if experience has taught me to err on the side of pessimism here.
Oh, and I spent part of the weekend watching 80s/90s cartoon intros, and between that and my habit of doing geography quizzes in my sparetime, I have decided to acquire a Carmen Sandiego outfit. I can wear it to pub quizzes for the geography rounds, or just wear it while travelling and give people in airport queues a double take XD
For my surprise, today my girlfriend took me to a german festival, she didn't told me nothing about this festival, and I didn't knew about it.
Yeah, nice surprise.
What on earth happens at a German Festival? Is it just an Oktoberfest knock-off with dirndls, lederhosen, beer, and brass bands?

To Noqanky: It was this song:
But I got to say..It would be funny to do the poses. To Print Error: Well, I think you will like my next quiz game.:ninja:
About the German Festival, besides the stereotypes, we can learn about the culture, language, important places and historical events of the country, but most people go to those events to get drunk.
Work: Today was the great exposition, it was a complete chaos but it was a fun chaos.
Life: My friends forced me to talk to my former friend. I talked to him and unfortunately he was extremely predictable … Putting the blame on me, cursing my mother and making me uncomfortable. From the beginning I went back to be his friend, but after much thought I ended our friendship for good.
Another bad thing, I broke up with my girlfriend...
Well, at least my dog is better and I'll start doing volunteer works.

Mumblemumble. A infinite sequence, where the terms go to zero when the index goes to infinity, that isn't in ℓ^p for any p equal to one or higher, but less than infinity… This is going to drive me crazy. e_e

The first day of school always is fun. Now I need to get used to my old sleep pattern again.
-
WOW, I have a awesome news.
Tim Burton will come to Brazil for a exposition of his works on the museum that I work.
So I got the chance to meet him…Nice

Well aren't you the lucky one! :)
Anyway, my day was mostly the same as usual, with the exception that I finally got my mom's birthday present. I really hope she likes it! :)

That's easily the worst part about starting school again. Going from going to bed at 7 A.M., to waking up at 7 A.M. has always been a huge change that I have to fix a week in advance for it to work.

So I just got Captain Ugly's prize today. Oh yea!
ICE AGE!!!
!
-
I FECKING PASSED (stage credits, mind, but that means the board let me pass even when I failed the biggest module by 10% on a resub)
I CAN'T STOP GIGGLING AND CACKLING HEL- -
I'm really tired, but I think I'll manage till the week-end. And finally, I'll finish Dracula, can't wait for the ending. I also want to watch the film with Lugosi Béla (seen some scenes with him and he seems pretty great).
And something a wee bit passive-agressiv-y
! Nothing can top it when after days of hardship and general suffering, you go to work to the family company and get greeted by how I should have multiple jobs next to uni just to afford a bar a chocolate (or anything besides water and bread for that matter). Good thing the collegue of my mom had some great examples to help. Her kids work at multiple jobs and have school and they earn more than me! Once again I am proven to be inferior to other people. Good thing I have a strong sense of pride and self-worth.
I do not, really.. -

I do not, really..! Just focus on being the best you and try to break the habit of comparing yourself to other people; you aren't them, you're you, and the most important thing in your life is your own life. Putting yourself down and envying others isn't going to enrich the quality of your life in the slightest, but instead drive you nuts and further into despondency.

I'm rather confusedHuh. I figured most everyone had heard that i was starting an apprenticeship in a restaurant.
@Purple:
Wolfwood is a chef.

He makes tasty food.So far i've mostly just chopped veggies, made scrambled eggs and baked bread.
But eventually i plan to move onto things that may or may not end up as tasty food.

I do not, really..If money was the only important thing in life i would be dealing coke and not working in what i work. Don't feel belittled by what other people do Nolus. What's important is what you think about yourself. Fuck other expectations, you should do what satisfies you (Of course, i don't mean that money won't ever be important in life but it isn't as life defining as people make it out to be).
