Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Indeed.
This is Whitey Bay's year, I know it.
Did this just turn into a tournament anticipation thread?
… wonder if I should change my avatar in preparation then...
You really get into the spirit of campaigning when it's your favorite. Not so much this year for me, but last year….especially with the famous Nami vs. Hattori, whoo hoo, I felt like I was posting every 2 minutes.
But I think it works as a segue, in the sense that you and others are all rooting for the same character. You campaign together....then boom, you congratulate each other and then you go...."hey, I think I'll send this guy a friend request". I've done that with a few users from the Nami camp.
I think I might've been on the opposing side of that match. Nia was my first friend on these forums! XP
I nominate Buu for a filler match
Oh lord, I guess I already need to prepare my Baroque Works campaigning. This tourney is gonna be a fun one.
Number one of the things i never quite got into around here has to be the tournaments

yes it has

That's what made the victory/struggle so fun and rewarding….she and the Hattori camp put in a lot of effort!
The users who read, but rarely post? Yup, that's me.

Leon, being in Mumbai, say, what do you think about Modi becoming the new prime minister?
Leon, being in Mumbai, say, what do you think about Modi becoming the new prime minister?
He's definitely better than Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi is weak, inexperienced and has zero political achievements. Modi on the other hand has transformed the State of Gujarat, especially in Environment, Power and Education sectors. Will he be able to copy those achievements at the Centre level? Most probably.
As for my opinion, I don't think any PM is going to change India unless the people themselves change for the better and try to become good citizens. But we do need a government that does what it is supposed to do -Take decisions and make policies. We don't need another government that shies away from it's responsibilities from decision making because of the fear of allegations. A decisive administrator is the need of the hour. Otherwise, our economy is not going to pick up which means more poverty and unemployment. Lack of strong Central Administrator also leads to a central vacuum, thus leading to institutions like SC/CAG/Army Chief going beyond their mandate and entering into policy making. This has happened a number of times with UPA government. As you know, democratic institutions falter when PM like Manmohan Singh is powerless. And at the moment, Modi seems to be the only one with experience and demonstrated expertise.
Part-Time lurker here. Used to post quite a few times when I first joined. I made some cringe-worthy posts/arguements early on and just decided to shut myself up and think through before commenting nowadays which is rarely. I guess you can say that I rarely partake in threads now since I'm quite afraid of making more stupid posts.
Number one of the things i never quite got into around here has to be the tournaments
I always intend to get involved, but inevitably get bored and don't bother beyond placing a vote, Ive never seen the appeal really, Then I've always hated rankings, and don't feel much interesting discussion is to be had there. I also avoid the manga thread entirely these days, to much noise, and i honestly don't have much to discuss about One Piece these days, with my limited time these days theres are things i find more interesting to discuss, and the passion I once had for One Piece has died down.
Does anybody know what happened to PirateBeck? I really want to reconnect with him, but he seems to have vanished.

He goes by the username TheGreatPirateKing in other One Piece forums.

Yeah he did.
Years ago.
He hasn't gone by that name in a long time.
You know, I too, still feel like a new member half the time since I don't post very often myself except when it comes to my projects or whatnot.
So yeah, I can understand where you're coming from and I know the feeling, man.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
BTW, I'm a huge fan of fighting games, martial arts movies, and anime. I'm also a huge admirer of the martial arts in general (both real life and fictional).
I guess I've been the same way until recently I figured it's time to post.
Been here for a bit and post in spurts when I am in the mood. I used to post a lot in the music forum but got busy. I still remember when I first joined I was only 13 and I was joining manga and anime forums like crazy. I remember the sites I used to lurk on the most were this one, onemanga, narutofan, and stoptazmo. Now I am 21 and this is the only forum I ever visit on occasion for spoilers on Tuesday night. It's crazy how fast time flies.
I barely if ever post. I still come by to read the spoiler threads, and random tidbits from chapter threads. Also like to read other manga forums and It's usually how I find out a series off hiatus.
Speaking of which i need to change my avatar since that one came back for now.
Heh. I've only posted, like, three times. Does that qualify me as a bonafide lurker?
I was a lurker here for a long time, had a brief burst of being opinionated last year but since then forgot to log on for several months… still enjoy having a read through here now and then though
Is it weird that I feel like I belong in this thread?
I still feel obscure. I rarely post anymore. For the past three months that's been because of things beyond my control, but honestly before then, I was always rather confined to the NFL or Community threads. (And other various Media threads.) I almost never posted in the Chapter threads, or, well, anywhere the majority of the user population tends to be. So I am probably horribly unfamiliar to some. But I've decided to try to be more ubiquitous (but not too much so) around the water park, because this place is rather nice, all things considered. So considering my posting here as a step towards that goal (which will ultimately never be realized. Probably.)
(I just decided to look back at my contributions to this place:)
[hide]
I've done a bit more than I thought. I run our Fantasy Football league, have lead some mildly successful rewatches of Lost and Arrested Development, have started other project type threads which almost instantaneously fell through, and have birthed some controversial threads (anyone remember the Wager thread? No one? Good.) and gotten into some very stupid arguments in the Racism thread and "I've Made a Huge Mistake" where I instigated what was probably the most ridiculous argument over nothing but semantics ever. On top of that I've got quite a lot of threads under my belt, even though I don't post in many of them / not that many people post in them.) All and all I have a rather large footprint here. But not as large as a lot of others. [/hide]
I have an oscar.
I'm suprised my account still exist ^^; Not sure when I logged in last time.
Looking back at some of the stuff I said as GaryPotter…yikes. Not too much to be proud of.
I've been here awhile, even longer than my join date implies. After registering I attempted to comment and be part of the discourse but eventually stopped. I normally just lurk and read other's comments between article rewrites.
I wanted to drop by and say hello and let you know I'm watching and reading. I do enjoy the many different people we have here, from all around the world.
I switch between active and lurking a lot, so HOW IS IT THAT I HAVE MORE POSTS THAN ROBBY?!?!

And all of that in a few months. Great job Urouge and welcome to AP~

Meh, I felt no need to post here then I use to
I mean do you guys care what I post? Every post I make is always weak so I just resort to reading
I'm usually very busy with work and home responsibilities these days. My lack of posting is not intentional, it just kinda happens…
This looks like a good place to roost for a bit…but yeah, I've fallen from posting in the forum mostly because of IRL crap that has been going on. I want to get posting again, but it's been a bit harder than I thought.
I did not manage to find out my post count, not matter what range i search, my name does nto pop up
Yeah work pretty much wipes me out to the point I don't feel like spending hours on forums like I did before I started working full time. This place is just massive and sometimes threads move so quickly I don't want to make a post in the morning then have to go through 5-10+ pages of chat and then reply to someone who replied to me after I posted originally and then it get ignored because the conversation changed. I have a lot of people here on FB or Skype or tumblr and being able to chat about OP or whatever with smaller groups is a lot easier. I really only stick around for collectibles and confession session/some other general chats for the cool people (and figures of course)
And I felt like I got super behind because the end part of 2012 and all of 2013 I was where I had unreliable service or no internet at all so that's why I hardly posted for a year and a half XD
I did not manage to find out my post count, not matter what range i search, my name does nto pop up
You have in between 2910 and 2920 posts.
I have 1415 posts now… Which seems like a lot...
Anyway, to expand on what Lef said and apply it to myself, I came for time-skip spoilers, got banned or forgot my account, rejoined for the tournament, and started posting after playing Survivor.
I guess I post a decent amount, but I definitely lurk a bit more. Or at least, I used to.
I miss Dragon Warrior. He and Dub Piece were the primary reason I joined this place all those years ago.
It's a shame they were never able to finish the Dub Piece Movie.
I think it all worked out in the end.
Hello everybody i saw this post and i was like ah ! i always read and lurk and rarely post . I joined ap forums because I LOVE ONE PIECE…........ maybe obsessed....... in a perfectly healthy way...kind of..... so anyways the main things i do for OP are watch youtube of OP normally KOL but there are others and i switch from there to ap forums to manga panda to manga stream rereading and reviewing one piece continually. there arent very many things about one piece i dont like i like to use imagination to make it the perfect manga/anime. I started as an anime watcher who couldnt wait for the anime so started reading the manga which was also slow so i started reading/watching naurto thank god i became a fan more so after the fillers then before . i like to read people ideas we all know one piece literally has its own universal rules so im excited to see what oda has in store for us ! i think i wrote enough for now others i may no long be a lurker !
I want to speak in the forum. But my points are never strong enough to back up my views and stuff. So i just end up reading.
I think some know me. But umm…. yea...
Its not that i dont have time to linger here. I just cant find the right topic to discuss on.
so i guess users who used to post a lot, but are lukers now can also post here
hi all!

Guess that would include me as well.

there was once a method by search, not remember it exactly. i was once one of top 70 posters of all time on site
I'm a proper lurker: 5 posts in 7 years!
I visit this forum very often and there have been a lot of times that I would have loved to post a comment, but my english is not good enough.
I suppose there are many lurker members like me, is a lot easier read than write, this is the best forum to get well informed and there are very interesting opinions and theories, but if I want to comment about a new chapter I have to do it in a spanish forum…
Sorry for the mistakes, I'm not aware of them...

The first thing you do is go to the top of the page and hit the 'Community' drop down list and then click on 'Member List'.
After that click on the 'Search Members' drop down list which should be located under the last letters of the alphabet. Then click on 'Advanced Search'.
Search for your post count by typing in what you believe your post numbers to be greater than and less than in the 'Post Count' section.
You can further refine the search by narrowing the join date the search engine looks for when looking for post numbers (though it's a little finicky).
But I did it for you and your post count is in between 2260 and 2270 as of now.

In about 7 years? Lol, that seems quite low indeed.
the user who lurks
I think, I am one of those lurkers…
!
…Hello everyone !
I have 136 posts in 9 years

A much easier way to find out your post count would be to use this link:
http://www.arlongpark.net/search.php?do=finduser&userid=11000&contenttype=vBForum_Post&showposts=1
(Post count is at the bottom of the page)
replace the "11000" with another user's id, to find their post count.
Here's the url in all it's glory…

Pretty sure that method will only find the posts you have made in the last year or so.
Definitely won't work for finding your total post count. Best to follow Outerspec's directions for the actual number.
edit: For example, if you search for posts by me, you'll only get about 138 results over the last year. But my actual post count is well over one thousand.
I never was a very talkative person to begin with, and I guess the IRC channel becoming my new haunt, real life stuff and a lack of interest in OP and manga in general has only made my lurking habits worse. I'm pretty sure most of my 1727 posts are probably from last year and before, at least.
