One Piece 5th Official Characters' Popularity Poll announced.

New Weekly Shonen Jump issue has announced the 5th Official Characters' Popularity Poll.

I don't know more details becouse I can't translate the scans (maybe Aohige or CCC can translate them and explains us how poll works) but I think we will have the results in October-November.

The last poll was taken mid to late Saobody Archipelago with Rayleigh, I believe, being the newest character voted for. Of the characters you mentioned Perona was the only one around then and she made 33rd which is pretty good for a minor villain character. She's had some character development and a redesign since then so it's likely that she'll move up in the polls. Law made 10th place in the last poll which is amazing since he was barely introduced at the time so there's a chance that he might have broken the top 5 with his character development and redesign. I don't know about Kinemon since I never hear anyone talking about him and there's little to no merch of him to judge if he's marketable but I agree that Hancock and Sabo will likely place high. I don't know about top ten though since that's a pretty tight race. We'll have to see.

The fact that the Monster Trio are consistently in the Top 3 since the 2nd Popularity Poll (Volume 24) tells me at least that those guys have very strong, established fanbases.

I mean, look at how far ahead the Top 3 from the 4th Popularity Poll are from the others. I would be surprised if Sanji wasn't at least in the Top 5.

I think Law could end up one or two places higher due to his recent screentime stealing votes from Sanji and Zoro…but the top 5 will almost definitely have those.

Don't expect DoFlamingo up there, villains typically don't make that high...especially if he's not a bishonen.

There are no bishonen in One Piece, except Cavendish (and maybe Dellinger), who is a parody anyway.

You can't vote for 2 characters by using the same postcard, which means sends jump 2 postcards if you want to vote for 2 characters

Uh, you realize that Japanese fans consistently chose Sasuke as the best character and Iruka was usually in the top 5 years after his last appearance? That the "favorite" scene for fans was when Sasuke said thank you to Sakura and hit her in the back of the head, knocking her out, and then fleeing the village in Part 1?

Naruto's popularity in Japan was a lot higher than you seem to realize and that is the stuff that fans there like about it.

I agree, but i still expect Mihawk to be ranked higher than Doffy. People in general seem to prefer generic "quiet cool guys" over interesting, fleshed out characters.
