I like how Deguchi's episodes haven't been terrible lately like they used to be. Shintani's cut was great. I just wish it lasted longer.

Fujitora/Doffy/Law filler was great. I really liked Fujitora's scene floating in the sky casually raining down death. Something dragonballz-ish about it, in a good way.
Man, we are getting spoiled with all of the new music in this arc.
Well, they managed to coax another good episode out of Deguchi. The Green Bit part was definitely the animation highlight.
Heh. Pretty good episode. The filler was some of the best stuff in the episode. Though I wish the writers would do something about how repetitive filler dialogue can get at times.
Really liked the music in this episode, especially the Franky part, the filler made this episode really good.
I wish for Sanji action that will be incomming soon(no spoilers) to have a bit of filler that will make it longer than in manga and it has to have same animation as todays Fujitora/Law/Doflamingo scene.
Meteorites falling down, Laws escape, Doflamingo movements- it was fantastic.
Rest of episode was pretty much ok. Feels bit weird to see Chinjao spinning like that but they have no choice but to add this kind of filler as well..
Of course music was good like always during Dressrosa.
Gonna be honest… I'm liking Dressrosa more as anime then manga. I dunno, I just think it's better paced.
Plus, anime is a lot nicer to the marines than manga is right now, so... yeah. Fanboyism taking hold of me again.

For me personally they just make fights like in the colloseum look a little slower and weaker. The Manga was fast paced, the Anime makes the competitors look crappy IMO
Not too surpised this was a Deguchi episode as the weak, blocky art was pretty noticeable in parts. Thankfully, this one seemed to have been salvaged pretty well and had some decent animation throughout. The Fujitora scene was the best looking part of the episode even though it was ultimately pointless.
I didn't think the pacing was all that good in this one. This one seemed rather padded out with redundant dialogue, repetitious action bits, reused animation, and too many pauses throughout. The episode direction largely saved it. I'd normally rate this one lower, but as far as Deguchi episodes go it was one of the better ones.

… I have to ask, what exactly wrong with longer exchange of blows? We know that longer exchanges of blows between powerful fighters in One Piece can take days. IMO, that fact that they all went down as easy as they did in the manga, makes it look like they are rather weak fodders.
And I've been arguing that manga is paced too fast for a long time know. We are just moving from plot point to plot point, with little appreciation of build-up, at least not counting Flashbacks.

Yeah, that was weird in the manga as well… one would think a power like that would be known. Especially since it belonged to a pirate of such caliber, who was shown on national snailvision. Or did Den-Den Mushi not catch him fighting during Marineford?

Hey, I never said it was perfect. Just that I believed that it was better than manga.
I dislike manga pacing. Simple as that. I think it has been lacking in focus, and development.
It's so annoying. Sometimes there are awesome filler and sometimes there are stupid crappy ones. I could praise the zoro-wicca filler in ep 645 all day long, but today i can only facepalm-em away. Like in ep 645, the green bit part was stupid, repetitive and lame. Toei, there is one Admiral, one shichibukai and one former shichibukai…instead of that, we have a some dudes who spam-miss attacks like fodder marines firing bullets into nowhere. It's not bearable for me to see op's tops throwing feathers at each others. Dofla and Issho seem way to incapable in those scenes, imo.Luffy vs Chinjao was awesome til the point where chinjao bounced of from luffy. Beyblade-Chinjao, well...i don't need to write it.The other parts were good. Can't complain.

They didn't remove it. It was the "I'm all thumbs" line just translated differently.
Another well made and very enjoyable episode in Dressrosa. Like last week (except the exaggerated ending), the whole episode is well made and full of fun. And Toei abuses filler in a good way which just fleshes out the whole of the arc more. It's the difference between an Anime Dressroba and Dressrosa.
Also, I think it's very likely that the audience is so drawn into the action and tension of the battle that they ignore the fact Luffy stretches. (Instead of questioning such an ability and associating it to a familiar name, they all want to know what happens next).

That's the fault of the animation though, not the pacing. Bellamy did a death knock on Bartolomeo which was very powerful.

Still you have to admit, the scene was pretty awesome.
Another great episode fleshing out the events in the manga, I really like filler content in this arc, it does a great job filling out the off screen fights & events that you don't see in the manga but wish to see.
Great to have Naohiro shintani back on one piece after being stuck doing toei movies, really nice episode overall.
Really good directing by tetsuya endo the forgotten toy scene was really well done and plus the new Music manage to make it a lot more sadder then the manga.

The same happened with characters like Neptune, for example. I guess translators didn't bother to add it in the manga.

I think it's mostly a japanese thing. They find it an endearing trait when characters have that kind of a verbal tic, sort of like characters with different accents or mannerisms, but this kind of verbal tic is one I think only the japanese use.

Didn't realize how much Dressrosa was like The Outer Limits or The Twilight Zone till this eps, beautifully creepy scenes with the toys.
