I wonder what Blackbeard will say when he reports it to him. Probably something along the lines of: "Lol, I guess you weren't fated to eat it."
But I wonder if he'll give him some other instructions.

I agree with that, but there's still no reason to team up with Doula goons against everyone. He's likely to attack them as anyone else there.
Yeah but on the flipside do you think anyone in Doffy's gang is going to attack him?
Odds are that he'll be jumped on by the rebelling toys turned pirates as he's going after Sabo or leaving.
Putting him on their side in practice, even if he has no loyalty to them or is intentionally aiding them.
I'm going to love this part of the arc so much.
Hello, I'm new to this forum and while I'm not surprise by Mingo's survival. I just got reminded of a scene from Beastie Boys Body Movin' video when he survived that. Anyway, it looks like Law was too embarrass by Chopper bein' tied to him to remember Ussop telling him that Luffy most likely sees the Alliance as a friendship. Which is why Luffy is saving him. I'm just guessing that this "Birdcage" has something to do with Law and Vergo. I have a feeling its a technique Mingo uses with his powers that allows him to keep two people inside a string "birdcage" . Also, I'm very glad that Sabo ate Ace's fruit.
Man these past 2 chapters have had so much content.
I sound like a huge fan boy but Oda is killing me
EDIT: facepalm
The window with the pic stayed open, I only got a good look at it now, lmao. Sorry about the douche thing…
Don't worry, I just bought my Marine Ford DVD, nothing can ruin my day now.
I was gonna say that Sabo and Coby look way too similar, but i dunno…what do you all think?
I think he looks like Brienne from Game of Thrones.
I'm surprised we didn't get have a conversation between Koala and Robin this chapter. Robin still doesn't know about the pressence of the revolutionaries yet.
I feel like everyone here thinks Burgess is "dumb" just because he's the assertive powerhouse.
I mean, he was the one who told his captain to stop laughing when SHs escaped to the sky and that he shouldn't trust Kuzan so easily. He's obviously not stupid! :getlost:
Burgess really has no reason to fight anyone. It's not like he's Dofla's ally. He might try to capture Sabo, but don't see how he'd be able to. Nothing for him to do here any more.
I still don't get what Burgess is doing in Dressrosa TBH, he was never going to win MeraX2
@.access:
This chapter was so. freaking. good! It pains so much there will be no chapter next week.
But it wasn't perfect. Sadly, the Usopp part had a negative effect on me. It would be fun if Oda hadn't do exactly the same thing for Buggy again. Instead of being funny i felt just so terribly repetitive.
I've been saying this for nearly a month now, but for some weird reason Oda is making Usopp into a second Buggy and this chapter just proved what was already somehow clear. However, it became so obvious that I start to wonder if instead of shamelessly repeating himself, Oda is doing it on purpose for some reason (clash of the Messiah? Pirate Dispatch Org. vs. Usopp Pirates? Usopp taking a Shichibukai down by himself?)And on a side note, I have to say since the thread of ordeal was opened, I finally said to myself "This is it. No more spoilers for me". So even if the thread was closed, I would like to thank it for giving me the strength! Razh, I hope you keep watching us from heaven! ;_;/
well to be fair that bit is going along with all of Usopp's lies coming true. About him having followers? Well now he has some.
Same should go for the killing. Besides, killing him is too unpredictable for someone who would want to eat a devil fruit. After he kills him, he searches the premises to find if there was a fruit anywhere near?
Jesus isn't the brightest kid in the class, but it's not like he's completely retarded either.
He's a complete moron who loves fighting, is angry that he got beaten by the guy who now ate the Mera Mera and knows that when a DF user dies the fruit goes back into circulation.
maybe law is so upset about luffy being there cause he knows dd would put him in real trouble and is trying to save him.
we should see a real testing new world situation for luffy and i think it will take some time before dd truly loose his head.
if in the beginning somebody said DD was something like spiderman, i'm starting to believe is more like venom instead
let's see how the birdcage pan out, unfortunately after the (second) suspension, i guess we will have a law flashback chapter on next issue. at least i hope so. i want to know about corasan.
all the former toys should be able to address burgess and diamante but it will not be so easy.
still waiting to see foujitora in full effect, that guy is so powerful.
i really don't understand whats wrong with sabo taking the fruit, to me it makes perfect sense and i don't see anything disrespectful about ace.
and i also like sabo a lot.
if this is only the beginning of the new world we should have something amazing ahead, this arc is huuuge!
so if there's a colorspread next chapter can we assume that this means a new cover story starts in 3 weeks?
diamante reminded me of a snake in his flag-form, looked kinda funny
also could someone clear if dofla's using "birdcage" allready or if he's planing to do it?
What a great chapter.
Ussop: "I… will... lead... you..." LOL
He's a complete moron who loves fighting, is angry that he got beaten by the guy who now ate the Mera Mera and knows that when a DF user dies the fruit goes back into circulation.
yeah, but good luck finding the fruit again.at best,he would need to kidnap sabo and search for the appropriate fruit to let it transmigrate on the spot like smiley's fruit did.
@ Maju: Or, you know, they could use BB's secret technique for stealing DFs. Seems like the re-circulation of the DF takes a little time since WB was pronounced dead before BB stole his fruit.

smiley's fruit just needed a few seconds before going back into that apple.also,BB is not on the island anyway,so the problem is the same either way,he still has to kidnap sabo without killing him.
I haven't read any of this thread so if it's been said before, sorry.
Does anyone feel like Sabo's design is…I don't know...simple?
@Light:
Wouldn't be surprised if Blackbeard told him to bring suitable fruit with him in case someone happened to eat it.
seems like a sound plan, even though i think both jesus and teach were sure that no one would have been able to stop them

We don't know if all DF's go back into circulation the same way.
Anyway if he kills Sabo the fruit is back out there to be searched for regardless, and I don't think Jesus "Champion" Burgess needs much of an excuse to kill someone who beat him lol
I still don't get what Burgess is doing in Dressrosa TBH, he was never going to win MeraX2
Why not? He seems to be the strongest of all the tournament participants if you exclude Sabo and Luffy.
Besides the "Great chapter" comment, this was one of the most laughable quotes I've read on this site in a long time. It's great that mangapanda gets the chapters up so quickly, but the translations lack personality, the fonts are boring, and the image quality is super fuzzy and not good. If you enjoy all these things. Have at it.
You are absolutely right. But you are missing a key component: accuracy!! To give you just a simple example, when Diamante talks to Sabo he says: "Stop! We never actually intended to to give away that prize!" in the MS translation. Compare that to "Stop! I'm not planning to give away that prize!" in the MP one. The difference is huge! Or, more importantly, look at Ussop's "I will lead you" dialogue… If you read MS you will never realize that he was trying to say something completely different (Leave me alone, or something like that) but couldn't because of how hurt his face is, so they misunderstood if for "I will lead you." I agree, MP's translation is sort of boring, but is more accurate despite the annoying Curos and Peeka thing... As I said, I really, really miss CCC... Powermanga's translation is I'd say the best of the three but it takes so long to appear.
I can't wait to see Messiah Usopp's bounty after this arc is through. =O

I thought i was the only one who noticed that, It was definitely better. Btw, one question, what happened to CCC?

Oh, and another one! Look at Barto's complain to Sabo: MS: "I could have just put up a barrier, you know!!!" versus MP: "It's true that I can use barriers, but still…!!" MP's version makes a lot more sense... I think it's more laughable that people criticize other people's opinions without doing the work of checking ahead
MS's translation actually has too much personality.
The chapter was really awesome, But I've been a little bit disappointed by Sabo appearance. He looks like a new Kobby 2.0. And also that when they was child, Ace was the angry and furious one, but he was more quiet and cool when he have grow up, He have evolved and changed. I had the secret wish that Sabo took the opposite way, the more happy and positive of the two older children, is a serious and an hardened adult. But no, he had always that child's smile. :<

Also the one with Law (i can't check right now) in MP he asked Luffy something like "why are you here? did you destroyed the factory?" and in MS is like"why you destroyed the castle/building"
And Sabo is finally fully shown and he looks pretty awesome
Praise be to Jesusopp
@Laguna:

had to stop for personal reasons
Zoro confirmed for epic entrance. You know he's going to show up at the end of a chapter with some one-liner.

The fact that he manages to be the dumb guy on an already dumb crew is what makes him great.
Trying to add too much depth beyond loud, hard punching, retard can only harm the character we all love so much.
@Laguna:
Btw, one question, what happened to CCC?
We ran him out of town on a rail because he insisted on teaching math to the womanfolk.
We don't take kindly to that type of thing around these parts.
Perfect chapter.
What do you guys think this birdcage thing is?
Does the fruit changes the form when it becomes DF? when apple turned into a DF, it didn't change it's shape…
Logia DF - fire, kinda resembles fire....if the fruit does not change form when it becomes a DF, then a fruit of such shape exist the world of OP, and if so then the DF will appear only in the specific fruit. For example, fire logia cannot be infused into apple or orange, but only into this fruit which resemblance fire kinda attributes?
So if it's true then there is as much fruits as DF abilities?
All these people complaining about Sabo's appearance reminds me of when we first saw Caesar Clown in "human" form and how everyone was "he looks straight out of Naruto, his design is so bad, he looks awful!". And things have changed, I gotta say.
Let it sink, let's see if he has quirks, facial expressions, something, before judging him.
@Devil:
I'm going to love this part of the arc so much.
I'd say "me too", but I'm still to on-the-fence about the whole thing. It's a huge brawl among characters that are not even secondary, with the most potentially important character being Burgess. I think Oda will off-panel it. All of it.
Also, I don't think Diamante and Trébol will fight the army of angry people, they should be Boss material for someone. Robin is too much to ask?
I guess the angry mob will be stopped by something else. Fuji tv? Birdcage? I don't know.
Bottom line: don't get excessively hype for something that maybe is of absolutely no relevance to Oda and then get utterly disapointed at its off-paneling.
Diamante can't moan at trebol anymore he messed up as well. Am curious what was his plan did he think he could beat them all.
I was disappointed that Sabo ate the Mera Mera no Mi. I hope Oda doesn't make him too much like Ace.
I actually loved the rushed pace of Sabo cleaning up and getting the fruit. But bleh, the Usopp thing would've been awesome if it wasn't a complete copy of Buggy's scenario, and if he'd done something to earn that victory. He's supposed to be becoming a brave warrior, not a phony. :I
My guess is that Bird Cage is DD's ability to control someone's movements, like he did with Riku.

In what way is he a phony?
Oh, Oda…
Doflamingo is a talking head and you leave us with even more questions with this birdcage thing.
Still, I suppose that is better than saying "now I will have to use 'that', amirite Law?"

He fought with all he had… there's nothing more to say.
I'm really starting to like Pica. What he lacks in personality he makes up for in action and design. These stone transformations are cool, and its clear that protecting Donflamingo is his first priority. Without saying a word, it's clear that this guy is alert and has a brain.
I really hope that the all the Strawhats get fights this arc. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I really don't want the warriors of Dressrosa to take out Don's crew. Yes, they deserve revenge, and it'd be neat to for once see the people directly screwed by the antagonists take responsibility for themselves, yet I also really like Donflamingo's crew. They've won me over, and seem really tough. I feel they all (Buffalo not included, it's a foregone conclusion that Kyros was gonna take you out [points for creativity btw. I didn't not expect a neckbreak] deserve to get a fight with a main character. Diamante and and Trebol are outnumbered and there are like 8 or so strong fighters down there. I'm actually worried more for Don's crew at this point! Also, I know a lot of people have been asking for a Robin fight, and I understand that can be annoying sometimes, but after this chapter I really want it more then ever, because Trebol made her look really weak here! She looked completely overwhelmed within just one attack, and needed to get saved by a dude that got OHKO'd by Luffy. I was really hoping for more, and I still hope that we get something more later in the arc.
Now to wait a few weeks to find out what "Bird Cage" is.
In what way is he a phony?

After all that character regression he endured this arc he goes on to score a contrived 'victory' and now he's being exalted for it. It's kind of lame. This isn't what I'd call a significant step in the direction of his dream. Imo it was a great missed opportunity.
The whole Usopp thing has been sort of still bugging me, too. The gag was fine, but I dunno about getting this status for that. I found it funny when I read it the first time, but rereading the stuff this chapter would've been a lot better without the massive character regression. Would've felt more natural. How Usopp was handled vs. Sugar is the weakest part of this arc to me so far.

He's being cheered on for what he actually did though. He fought with all he had against overwhelming odds, and now they're repaying him.
So there's nothing about it that'd make him unworthy of their praise and support in my eyes.

The funny thing about that is Ussop essentially did do it all by himself as Hajrudin said, Like Buggy's Situation it is not a lie, though not in the way most of those people down there are thinking
Didn't he also take attacks for the Tontatta's? they said as much in the last chapter(well in Mangastrems version anyway). I don't know about you but I think taking attacks to protect currently defenseless people is a brave thing to do.
I might have been happier if the Usopp's introduction to the people he saved was done on a more serious note. Felt like an overuse of what happened with Buggy and the Gates of Justice. But it was still good to see.
It's no biggie.
I swear there would be a 90% decrease in the complaints with the Usopp situation if Oda decided to show us his struggle and fight to the bitter end against Trébol instead of. . .
You know, I'm stuck in a fucking loop repeating the same thing again and again.
So I'll rest my case. Forever. (Not really).
