The 50s

It's a fact that the 50s are ones of the most exciting chapters in One Piece and since we're 2 chapters away from reaching the 750, I thought that it will be a good idea to read what are peoples expectations for this specific chapter.

Note worthy thing that happened on the 50s

Chapter 50 Hawkeye Mihawk is revealed
Chapter 100 Monkey D Dragon is revealed
Chapter 150 Chopper makes his first friend, is not a BIG thing, but for somebody who was considered a monster it means a lot.
Chapter 200 Water Luffy and the eight god of the sea
Chapter 250 Trial of Love
Chapter 300 The 400 years war finally ends
Chapter 350 Franky Shows why he's a Strawhat
Chapter 400 It has begun
Chapter 450 Ryuma is revealed
Chapter 500 Robin reveals Fishmans/mermaids fate, the first middle finger and the reveal of the Dark King
Chapter 550 Ace's father and mother are revealed
Chapter 600 The Crew reunites after 2 years
Chapter 650 Poseidon is confirmed, Aokiji vs Akainu and Blackbeard
Chapter 700 The thousand peace clown "Buggy"
Chapter 750 Chuck Norries?

So what are your expectations for 750?

Some of those are reallll stretches. The biggest thing most of us want is to see the situation of Sanji's group

or kanjuro, manshelly, or perfhaps as jabra stated… a full chapter of the vivre card situation. maybe all 3 in the same chapter could make up for it only being a half chapter reveal. @Shadowgreed:

I was thinking the same as NateRich that some of those are just stretches, but then I started reading 350 and got hooked for few chapters :P Damn water 7 + enies lobby must be the greatest arc(?) for me :P

Hmm so what big can happen in 2 chapters? Kaidou reveal? Nah too soon… Tea party? Too soon too? Something with Mingo? Maybe start of Luffy vs Mingo?

On the other hand amazing events happened in many random chapters. Sabo is revealed in 731 for instance.
We might get something crazy in 750, but we might get something crazier in 749 or 751.

More like 100s… in terms of importance and adding epicness to the series.
Stuff like Trial of Love and Ryuma reveal isn't umm...that grand, at least for me.

But nice work there. I'm getting excited for 750, which is real soon.
Hmm... Luffy's first punch on Doflamingo's face maybe?

Honestly, the only ones that I'd say count for something are 50, 100, 300, 500, 550, and 650. For example, the crew first really reunites in chapter 602 (when the Monster Trio arrives at the Sunny), Ryuma isn't that important of a character in the grand scheme, and the "Trial of Love" was just another "mini-boss" fight. And so on.

How is Kaido reveal too soon? The only thing that seems to soon right now, is the defeat of a Yonkou then everything else is just perfect

Probably, but Oda hasn't taken a break yet which lead me to believe that whatever 750 has will be pure awesomeness

I wouldn't mind something as simple as Doflamingo getting punched in the face or the reveal of Kanjuro for 750, assuming that something special actually does happen.

If anything, the trend of important things happening AROUND 50 chapters is probably just due to Oda liking to close off each year of publication with something big

We know Oda skimped a couple chapters in order to make 100 a big deal, but he hasn't particularly gone out of his way for any others. Aside from that one you really could arbitrarily pick any combination of chapters and get the same result.
