Uh, it's been pretty shounen cliché-heavy since the first chapter. I don't think it's something very original since the start, just done really well.

After all, Deku was freed because of the force generated by his finger, not because of some random sheer willpower kind of thing.
One for All is a suspiciously mysterious quirk, so there're bound to be a few things about it we don't yet know about. It gives us more to look forward to besides "school with superpowers" or "big villain organization".
And while we could argue that it's a deus ex machina, I feel that it's still early enough to introduce new things like this. Better we learn a fundamental part of the main character's power now, rather than halfway through the story (chakra elemental affinity).

A cliche is a repetition, not necessarily something bad. Often they're used because they're effective and/or a basic story component. A skilled author will know how to use them correctly.
So far I think this series has handled a nice balance of cliches and originality, so I'll enjoy it while it lasts (if we're lucky, the entire series. If not… oh well! We'll see if he'll outdo Naruto or not, though that will be a challenge XD)
The one thing I'm worried about at the moment is the outcome of the tournament. If Deku wins, It'll be disappointing.
Personally I'm rooting for Bakugo to win the tournament, with the final being Bakugo vs Todoroki. Maybe we should make a poll or place bets.

Felt like a bleach chapter, but nice toss by Deku, weakest BNHA Chapter so far…
That was good. Yeah, I think faking an injury would've been a better move to get Izuku to react.
I count 7 pairs of eyes there and one single eye. A lot depends on where it goes and how it's done.
It'll be fun to see where the series will go with this new information about All for One.
It's also nice to get some background on Shinsou. I feel a bit bad for him, the moment people around him figure out what his quirk is they probably stopped talking to him, or even hanging out with him. I hope he'll appear again, I want to see him develop.
And I'm still curious about the possibility of Quirk Bullying. We know quirkless people can get bullied, and that Quirk Marriage is a thing, so I'd be strange if there isn't Quirk Bullying as well. It probably doesn't affect appearances as much as it would in real life since so many people have their appearance changed, but there must be quirks that don't fit in this society. Hand-guy might be a victim of that.
I also liked how Eraserhead actually called out the entrance exams as unfair. Didn't think of it myself back then, but he has a damn fine point. If your quirk doesn't allow give you any form of strength or way to affect your enemies, you're screwed, even if your quirk is really amazing.

The "your first and last name kanji = your Quirk" quirk about the series can't ever really have an in-world explanation… That would require parents knowing a child's Quirk before birth. And changing their family names to fit Quirks.

What if at some point some's name does not reflect their quirk? Something like if a name suggests fire, but they turn out to have a ice quirk instead.
Given that quirks can be hereditary, it should actually be possible to predict your child's powers somewhat.

As long as you make sure your slaves don't bump on each other.
Also, this kind of thinking is why we can't have heroes with overpowered abilities nowadays. All those monsters, necromancers, poison/acid users and reality warpers that could have been heroes, but didn't because their powers are not "heroic". Stuff would be so much easier. Thank goodness for Tokoyami existing.
On a serious note, betcha this might be related to why Tomura ended up being a villain.
