Wait a second. CCC… Are you telling me All might's quirk is called One for all and not All for one??? When did this become the case?? Is one of the two translations wrong?
Even in Fallen Angels it's always been One for All. Perhaps you're mistaken?
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Yeah…never been All For One. That would sound kind of...selfish haha.
Actually some chapters have written it as All for One, I assume unintentionally. I personally think "All for One" makes more sense. The function of the quirk is "the power to transfer power", so it's the collective power from all previous owners into the body of one person; All (previous owners' powers) for One (person to wield); All for One. I don't know how specific the Japanese is, and of course I'm not arguing that, just noting that that's how it was described (translated in English) in chapter 2. The counter argument, I suppose, would be that the quirk's name has nothing to do with the power and instead focuses on the attributes and character of the 'successor'; one power used to protect all people, or something like that.

Yeah, that's always how I've seen it. Focus isn't on "now you're this all-powerful god who's absorbed the power of others" but rather "this power, courtesy of others, is meant for the good of mankind."
The one hero for the good of _all_.
I may have accidentally referred to it as All For One back when I didn't have a proofreader. Also, I'm absent-minded as shit
Do you think there's a All For One Black Adam to One For All's Captain Marvel?

You might want to edit page 13 of chapter 2 (v2). It's called All for one in the top panel.
Bakugou is gonna beat Ochako to death, to piss off Deku and force him to fight him without holding back, but it will be a fight to the death.

So, you don't understand the characters involved at all.

I just hope Bakugou doesn't pull out some "hurf durf durf Ur a giiiiirl, so I'm gonna go easy on you" bullshit.
It wouldn't be in character for him to do that, yeah; but LOL JAPANESE SEXISM.
So, you don't understand the characters involved at all.
You want Bakugou to go out of character as Cruithne mentioned?
He said no matter what it takes he will be the number 1 and beat Deku once for all, he didnt believe why Deku couldnt use his quirk and thinks he is looking him down(like he is pitying him).
Once way to force Deku to fight without holding back is to piss him off and humilliate Dekus closest friend.

You mean just like that time with Gohan and Videl?

if it is a 3 musketeers reference they are both complementary.

Bakugou is not the kind of character to use underhanded methods to win, if things go as they are set up right now, he'll beat her easily, but he won't go all Tenshinhan on Yamcha's leg or something so crass.
Only the slave guy is asshole enough to try and provoke someone such a way.
if it is a 3 musketeers reference they are both complementary.
No, of course. It's undoubtedly a reference to the three musketeers catchphrase, but the point is that Horikoshi intentionally picked one half of that phrase, and I don't think it was arbitrary that he picked the half he did.

Bakugou's already way past the bully phase.
You must have forgotten all those critiques that he received by several characters because of his behavior and how they affected him.

Exactly. My thought is that he will underrestimate Uraraka because a) she is a girl and b) her power is not that offensive. However Uraraka will use her special move, surpise Bakugou, nearly win due his neglict but then he will give 100% and manage to beat Uraraka and learn something new as in to never underestimate somebody just because they look weak/their power doesn't sound as awesome as yours.

If Uraraka could manage to make touch Bakugou and make him weightless, his explosions might end up propelling himself out of the ring by accident. I'm looking forward to see how Uraraka's learned from her critique from the battle simulation!
She will not win, but she will definitely come close to it; she still has that foreshadowing about her secret move going for her, so it might become useful once she engages in a one on one fight.
Also I was expecting the slave master to win it all, but I have no idea how things will play out now since I don't think Deku is gonna win it all, but will make the audience remember his name.
This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name
Frequent lurker just popping in to say that BnHA is super dope. As a fan of superhero comics, I love the fusion of styles and the creativity that Horikoshi-sensei has put into each character. Also, Deku is a breath of fresh air, as many have already stated. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes.
Loved this week's chapter. Thanks Glib for the work. I've been reading the SJ releases but because of the time difference where I'm at, I went back to the unofficial release. I'm super excited to see Invisible Girl's appearance. She's one of the sexiest cheerleaders I'm also looking forward to seeing how Deku gets out of his current predicament with Shinsou.

Shinsou seems a bit too reliant on his Quirk. He certainly doesn't look like an actual fighter, and his Quirk is not really suited for combat anyway.
I guess Midoriya could win without even using his Quirk if he escapes.

We still don't know If this is the only thing his quirk can do, so I would not be jumping the gun just because he seems to depend on his quirk a lot.
Finally got to reading the chapter. Gotta love it when the author steps up the creepy-factor.
And I love how all the girls react so differently when stuck in the cheerleader outfits, it means more than you'd think. Hagakure is quickly starting to become one of my favorite characters.

Implying that Asui isn't best girl
I just started and got caught up with the series, I'm really enjoying it!
Quick question though, is this a weekly or monthly updated manga?
Quick question though, is this a weekly or monthly updated manga?
It's weekly serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump.
!
!
! Ohhh damn, what's happening here??
Did Deku break out of it? Is Shinsou getting riled up because he can't get Deku to talk anymore?? Is it something much much deeper than that??
I can't tell dammit!
! Seems like Shinsou is saying something about Deku's personality and saying that he's going out, as in he'll eliminate him. Might have got it wrong though, don't quote me on that.
HOLY SHIT!
Emotions running wild this chapter!!
! So yeah, just as someone here predicted, according to Eraserhead, Shinsou was a student who couldn't pass that year's entrance exam, so he registered for the General Ed Department instead even though his quirk is crazy strong.
! Shinsou Hitoshi, Quirk: Mind Control
If you answer him, you will enter a trance and follow his every command.
But if you reply him while he's not thinking of controlling you, his quirk won't activate.
! According to Eraserhead, Shinsou's physical strength is far lower than even Deku without his quirk, and Deku is considered one of the weaker students in the Heroics Dept.
Whether or not he can overcome this mind control, the battle is sure to be quick.
! Flashback to Ojiro and Deku. Ojiro warns Deku that his mind turned blank the moment he answered Shinsou, so don't say anything!
But his quirk isn't invincible. When he bumped into Tetsutetsu's team during the cavalry race, he suddenly regained consciousness. So if some force is applied to your body, you'll snap out of the mind control!
But it's a one on one battle so Deku can't count on that if he were to be controlled…
! Deku remembers that but he's powerless to stop himself... Then all of a sudden!
A vision flashes through his mind!
His finger activates One for All and he manages to free himself!
But he didn't do it consciously. Someone else was controlling his finger!
Deku believes it might be...
The souls of the people who held One for All before him!! What the shit!?
Holy what the shit!!?
! Shinsou is befuddled, then flustered. There's no way his quirk is gonna work now.
He keeps baiting Deku into saying something, slowly getting more and more desperate.
He says that people who have been blessed with their dream quirks could never understand. He's completely jealous of Deku, jealous of how his quirk is so perfect, how he could enter the Heroics class, how he could do anything he wanted to...
But it's useless! Deku sympathizes with him, but he has to win anyway! And so the battle is decided!
! Shinsou vs Midoriya: Midoriya wins!
aw shit.
! The previous users of One for All? The hell?
! Man, I knew Izuku was going to win, but man does it feel like a deus ex machina.
! Though, I admit this doesn't look good for Izuku:
! Man, this is probably foreshadowing something that's gonna happen in the Izuku vs Todoroki fight
Its not really a deus ex machina if its been set up since chapter 2.
aw shit.
! The previous users of One for All? The hell?
! Oh man it would be awesome if One for All had some evil background, like it was created for some malevolent purpose like to gather power over the years and bring back some evil super villain or something.
! Izuku is totally the coordinate.
! But yeah, I don't think it's a deus ex machina, All Might did say it's been passed down generation by generation.
Its not really a deus ex machina if its been set up since chapter 2.
! Yes, I know it has been mentioned that there were previous users of one for all, but not once has it been implied until now that previous users could still have enough influence to take control of Izuku. If that were the case why didn't something happen when Izuku was being attacked by villains, which was a far more dangerous situation that the one he is in right now.
! Those encounters didn't directly screw with his head.
! "He's in the Avatar state!" Have I just missed it, or has nobody ever made the One for All / Avatar comparison? I'm not fond of this development, but I'll wait for the full chapter. Also, I'm assuming it is intentional that Midoriya's success continues to be "luck and by the help of others"? I thought the dialog from last chapter was meant to be a sign of improvement on that front.

! It's already been pointed out that obviously its from the Three Muskateer phrase… so I really wouldn't be surprised if there's an One for All has an All for One counterpoint somewhere along the way. Be it selfish evil villain variant, or a connection to the overall power source.
! It would be a genuinely cool idea if One for All was originally an evil power. Maybe All Might accidentally got hold of it, stole it or was a member of said evil power originally and then decided to use the power for the good side.
Anyway, I think it's a cool development. Since the series has set up most things so far in one way or another, I think it deserves the right to throw in a surprise every now and then. Especially when the surprise is ominous enough to make you doubt its a good thing.
! And eight pair of eyes… I wonder if one of the users were one-eyed.

! Because in that situation, Izuku was never mind-controlled and could still do stuff.
! This is less Deus Ex Machina and more the introduction of a new plot point.
<slowpoke>So wait, Steel Diver and Monarchy of Roses are in the tournament now? Sweet!</slowpoke>
Y'know, there's one thing I've constantly been wondering about.
What is up with Tetsutetsu's eyes? Like…what is that stuff around them that looks like a torn plastic wrap?
aw shit.
! The previous users of One for All? The hell?
! Thought the same. I thought OfA was a quirk not some kind of mindcontrol breaking extra. Deku's quirk is not just superstrength, superspeed and what not but also mindcontrol-safe. What the heck…

! Or it could become "Naruto" all over again.
A superpower that can sometimes CONTROL YOUR BODY/ACTIONS? Totally Naruto. Same with the many scary eyes in the dark corridor, that did not look ANYTHING like heroic eyes but supercreepy and scary ones, more villian eyes.
I hope Horikoshi can handle that kinda stuff better than Naruto did because I had found that one kind of a "superpower" always lame.
Well, so much for my hopes BokuHero will not do a cliche and instead tries something new and fresh. Maybe we should start using that guy from the Souma thread about all those "Shounen laws" comments to predict the next chapter's development.
