! Love how there's always so much going on in these chapters. So it was Shouji's arm! And holy shit, Tokoyami is scary at night, hopefully he gets it under control..
! Totally predicted Chatterer's quirk last week too! hehe

! The name of the bondage death row convict that can extend his teeth? Moon Fish.
! Yeah, I wonder if that's a mistranslation or something. -

! Yeah, I wonder if that's a mistranslation or something.! Yeah, it was Moonfish in the 2ch spoiler too not just the Korean. Written as ムーンフィッシュ which is literally Moon Fish and not akamanbou or anything like that. Could still be some deeper meaning hidden in the kanji when/if it is revealed.

! There are no kanji- it's purely phonetic katakana ;)

! Curious to find out the reason behind his name! Though I think the guy looks closer to a Monkfish than a Moonfish!

! Yeah. Was thinking more along the lines of a future reveal either in a chapter or volume extras, hence that bit at the end.
! Any clues on the thought process behind the name though? I thought for sure there'd be at least some subtle nod in the name to his inspiration. -
No clue! Might be revealed later on, since pretty much every hero/villain name so far has been relevant to the person's Quirk.
-
new chapter is out
Tokoyami's quirk going berserk is cool and all, but Kirishima's face after realizing his husbando is in danger steals this show for me
-
Tokoyami woot woot. I love this manga.
-
I'm so glad Shouji is getting some attention! Hopefully Deku won't steal the show completely and we'll see Shouji trying to tackle Tokyami's shadow.
Other than that I'm happy were back with the interesting villains.
-
Some fantastic art this chapter. Testutetsu has a fortunate counter and Spinner is a real stand up guy.
-
Fumikage sure feeling a real monster.
If Only Bakugou gets to pass by Moonfish, he could save them easily since he is Fumikages counter..
-
I guess its not only Fugo who cannot keep his Stand under control.
-
The only negative I can find in this chapter is again the lack of Toga va Tsuyu and Ochako.
-
Anyone else thinks Gas Guy shot Kendou instead of Tetsutetsu?
-
Who knew guns could be a problem in a world full of superpeople?
-
Anyone else thinks Gas Guy shot Kendou instead of Tetsutetsu?
Interesting thought, but the Fumigator doesn't appear to have any idea who the two students are. It's much more natural to shoot the person coming aggressively towards him than the one standing by, since he has no reason to believe a gun won't be effective.
-
Bad guy lizard isn't so bad.
Plus we have a Berserk quirk. Neato.
-
I foresee a Tokoyami Flashback next chapter.

I've been caught up since yesterday, spent today reading the thread alongside a re-read of everything so far.
Lol @ how (almost) everyone was expecting Bakugou vs Ururaka to be typical shonen fare; with kiddy gloves, fan service, underestimation, a Videl-like beat-down, or a BS win.
But nope, one of the most respectful and badass female vs male fights I've seen in years. Uraraka was a legitimate badass.
She kept getting back up, came up with a game plan by herself, and even the douche she was fighting acknowledged her as a worthy opponent.
Awesome, awesome stuff. All of the characters are fun and interesting so far, I still love the art style for the most part, and everything feels really fresh.
And while I see some people have complained about clichés…. I'm sitting here looking at the shitload of clichés they've avoided or made fresher.
Because honestly, this series overall feels incredibly original and heartfelt to me. You can really tell the author is having fun and just enjoying it. And so am I.Froppy is best girl, btw. She's really really cool and I want her to fight again soon.
We need to see her and Uraraka face off against Bane girl.So yeah, this series is amazing and is immediately in my top 10 for now. Will stay there if it keeps things going all the way through.
I love the comedy, the characters are fun, everyone's designs are cool and diverse, and Deku is a very worthy and refreshing MC. Love this kid. -
The series has been knocking it out of the park with the art these last few chapters.
Again, eager to just see more of these guys. Kendou, Tetsutetsu, Tokoyami, plus the lizard villain guy.
-
Hopefully Tokoyami can get that thing under control, but I'm fully expecting a villain to jump into the fray and precede to get absolutely rekt. Wonder if Shouji will suffer any permanent damage from the limb being sliced.. doesn't really seem likely at all since his whole thing is growing them but who knows.
Moonfish's quirk is super appropriate given his inspiration, still can't figure out the reason behind that name though. Pretty awesome how he uses it to move… like a spider or something.
Spinner seems like he could possibly switch sides in the future. I interpreted Magne's line a little differently in the other versions I read but I'm not really sure what it's like in the raw so I'm curious to see a non-MS version. Anyways he seems pretty spooked at the thought of Spaghetti-muscleman losing.
Anyone else thinks Gas Guy shot Kendou instead of Tetsutetsu?
Definitely a possibility but I figure we're just gonna be shown that Tetsux4 is bulletproof with his quirk.
I was actually kind of wondering if the spark from the gun firing could cause the gas to explode since we were shown that Bakugou was hesitant to use his quirk. But… that doesn't seem so likely given Deku's response.
-
I had to look up Moonfish. It's even more puzzling if you read that an actual moonfish is toothless. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opah
Also there's a popular restaurant in Florida with that name and they are being used more in sushi lol. -
Inb4 Bakugou's hero name inadvertently becomes Kacchan because of this.
Also I can't wait to see where Tokoyami goes with this.
-
-
Tsuyu and Fumikage sounds amazing.
While Mineta's voice makes me punch him in his face more. -
Kirishima's voice is the best. I like Tokoyami's too.
Oh, and Yuki Kaji doing Yuki KajiWhile Mineta's voice makes me punch him in his face more.
That's the point, isn't it?
-
No complaints here! I found all the voices very well fitting.
With the previous PV it was pointed out that the fonts were from older american iconic comic books. For this PV it's the same, but I can only recognize a few this time around - hopefully someone more comic book savvy can ID the rest as I'm largely unfamiliar with the DC side of things and a lot of newer stuff.
Kirishima = Iron Man
Kaminari = Dr. Strange
Momo = Infinity Gauntlet
Tsuyu = Avengers
Mineta = SpideyThat's the point, isn't it?
Definitely.

so nobody else notices they messed up shouto? not even the production team? his ice is on the wrong side.

That's how his original costume was. Ice covering the fire side that he rejects.

oh wow, i've completely forgotten that.

Anime OP/ED announcement: OP by Porno Graffiti. ED by Brian the Sun.
-
! The creepy teeth blade guy being squashed like a bug made me laugh
-
! Hot damn this looks like a good chapter
-
! Tetsux4 pounding gas dude's head in was such a great panel. Horikoshi and his assistants are really delivering with the art for this series.
-
Wow that fight was fantastic.
The whole thing since I've seen people mainly only focusing on the punch.
The way he drew the forcefulness of the gun was so nice. -
I really liked the Tetsu Tetsu/Kendou combo to take down the poison guy, Class B has redeemed themselves.
It would be logical if Fumikage fodderized Moonfish, his quirk was implied being one of the strongest at night.
-
It's good to know that Shouji is not another piece of shit like Mineta or Bakugou.
-

I really wish they would just lead the rampaging Tokoyami around the camp and use him to squish more villains.
-
It's good to know that Shouji is not another piece of shit like Mineta or Bakugou.
We've already knew he was strong though, and that he was kind/heroic like when he shielded students from black mist with his body, and let Mineta team up with him/held him from being blown away during the Izuku/Shouto.
-
I really wish they would just lead the rampaging Tokoyami around the camp and use him to squish more villains.
That would be unnecessarily dangerous.

I love how ruthless the masked guy is. Every single shot was aimed at TetsuTetsu's head, and the force of his shots was depicted well.
This was such a fortunate match up (hardening protection). He'd have easily killed any of the other students. -

This was such a fortunate match up (hardening protection). He'd have easily killed any of the other students. It is one of the usual superhero world plotholes, (I thought the same with Stain). Don't police carry firearms? If quirks are so dangerous as to be permanently banned for regular use, wouldn't they guarantee the use of lethal force in case of misuse? and so on…
In the end this is a shounen, and the fun is in making interesting match-ups between powers, so sometimes is best not to overnalyze things.
I should say I don't like how every villain is being easily taken care of, as someone already said, the villain alliance is becoming a joke with all their screw ups -
Yeah, I really loved the Tetsutetsu/Kendou combo and Tokoyomi's rampage form just looks really cool - can't wait to see that in the anime.
I think someone brought it up here sometime, but I'm also kinda growing worried about how incompetent the villains might end up. Yeah, it's clear they really haven't been truly serious yet and especially the current attack just seems like a "distraction" to get Bakugou, but it's still something to worry about.
-
While I liked the chapter I'm gonna be a party pooper and mention three things that really bugged me.
1. While the Tetsutetsu fight was pretty cool and that punch was gorgeously drawn (for once the author depicted impact in a satisfactory manner)…the villain was pretty stock and weak to the point that the great art feels wasted on him. Same problem with big muscle dude that Deku fought, the author wrote a villain like Stain, he should be better than this. And I know they're supposed to be one shot fodder villains but even for fodder, they're too one dimensional.
2. Climax with Deku reaching Bakugo. I don't like Bakugo so fuck him. But let's leave that as my issue since it opens a whole other can of worms.
3. "Deku, who will you save, you can only pick one!" "I'll save both!" You know Deku, you managed to find a clever solution this time but usually that sort of decision is nothing but naivety that gets you and both of the people you're trying to save killed. Being a hero isn't about saving everyone in front of you like a ninny, it's about making HARD choices, about the greater good. The author had a chance to make Deku learn this but instead went for a copout. I know, shonen but eh.

@Purple:
Unnecessary danger is part of the thrill
"Oh Tokoyami, you accidentally killed tsuyu and kouji in your rampage, but wasn't that a thrill?"

It's Bakugo, "Saving" him will lead to the hard path.
-
It wasn't really a copout, since the explanation was logical and Deku's a logical guy. His idea felt pretty natural to me.
Rather than naivete, it was an example of good strategy. Hitting two birds with one stone.
He's also got extra time to think right now because he's too injured to fight.
