I guess this was more exciting for anime only people. A lot of talk, animation wasn't great in the second half.
You know, I really love that new theme that doflamingo has. It really does fit his character.

This really was an awesome episode, 8/10 would watch again.
Story, lighting, directing, animation and art were all well done.
They really managed to transfer Riku's pain.
The ost through out the episode were great. Art was a bit off though.
Wow. I hate Doflamingo even more now, I can't wait till the end of the arc for everyone to see what kinda of creep he really is.
When I read this in the manga it didn't seem that tragic. I can't say the same about the anime. They did a really good job of making this seem as screwed up as possible.
Well, Toei did a much better job with this episode than he did with some in the past in this arc.
M-M-M–MEADOWS!!! Kinda looks like they might be setting up Meadows vs Rebecca, though I half-hope they don't because of how lamely they handled Rolling Logan.
As for the flashback, I thought this was one of the more grim moments in One Piece in the manga and still do. The art was probably the best thing about it, which is just as well because because the imagery if King Riku's rampage is kinda horrific. Thankfully Toei spared us from the buckets of blood that such a massacre would normally entail.

Everything was okay. Just okay. Mediocre, even. It wasn't handled poorly, but I feel like they could have done much more with this flashback. Especially since the animation was as lazy as humanly possible at every turn.
Except for Kaid–Meadow's moustache gently flapping in the wind. That was beautiful.

This episode was just kind if there. Nothing terrible, nothing outstanding. The best part was easily Doflamingo's theme when he was talking to King Riku. Have we heard that song before?
