Mine was probably Arlong, Kuro, or Lougetown.

Arlong, the bit where Nami stabs her arm then Luffy takes the knife and gives her the hat is an amazing scene, that scene alone makes it the best pre-grand line arc.
I recommend: Peerless Martial God, Renegade Immortal, Gourmet of Another World, Trash of the Counts Family and The Great Ruler

Arlong Park. Let's say it was the first time in One Piece that I burst into tears =P

I agree, that scene, especially following Nami's flashback, really just blew me away. And then Luffy can co. Busting into Arlong Park. Definately one of my favorite episodes.

To me, the Arlong Arc was pretty much a defining moment for the entire series. It really left a lasting memory on me, and now it's beautifully nostalgic, too.
And besides, I have to give props to the piece of writing that first had me crying over… Well, any story up to that point.

Arlong all the way. That will ALWAYS be my fav. 1st time I cried in One Piece and like some others have said it was so sweet and sad.. and in my honest views…
One Piece didn't get GOOD good till that arc thats when things REALLY kicked off for me.
I did like the Buggy arc just cus Buggy and co = amusing retards

Actually… my favorite so far is W7, I just love the characters so much.
Out of the ones posted, though, I love Kuro Arc.

yah..w7 is just plain awesome..but best arc from above to me, is buggy or arlong. buggy, i read shonen jump monthly then..and i enjoyed it a lot. kept me on the edge and stuff. not so much as kuro or don krieg arc. i loved arlong. when i finally got to arlong..wow. just plain wow. some of the best DONS are from that arc. and the past was really emotional. and i never have anticipated or wanted a fight to happen so badly (well w7 is an exception). and i actually wanted arlong to just get his butt annihilated. it was very well done.

Anyways, like almost everyone else, I vote for the Arlong arc to be the best out of the East Blue sagas.

i was ready to say Skypea since it was the first time i remembered of crying when reading something… but since it's not an option Arlong Park without doubt, tough Buggy was very very nice

I went with Lougetown, but I had a tough choice between that one and Buggy. If I knew there were no Buggy votes I would've picked that one. I also liked the Lougetown fillers.

I think I'll vote for the Kuro arc. Sure, I thought Arlong was cool, but the Kuro arc introduces Usopp, and it was seriously entertaining!
