Well him letting her win for the sake of the country would make sense if her obtaining the fruit could help her save the country. In reality, it won't help country much. Or at least, not enough to make a difference.

Rebecca has no need to win the tourney or get the fruit, all she needs is for Dofla and crew to get their asses kicked. Once the memory control over the citizens is gone she will be everybody's darling again. And Luffy also no longer has a need for the fruit. He entrusted it to Sabo. He wouldn't have left the arena otherwise.

Her ultimate goals aren't shallow, but her desire for the fruit is. For her to think that the fruit would give her the strength to defeat Dofla is just a delusion.
As for the outcome of the tourney. I don't think Burgess will be defeated here. As a member of Blackbeard's crew he is someone who shouldn't be defeated at this point. Blackbeard is likely to end up as Luffy's ultimate challenge and therefore his crew should be save until much later. So instead I think in typical Oda like fashion Burgess will either do something stupid to get himself out of the running or some outsider will interfere and get rid of him. I'd say the most likely outcome is that the fruit will end up in Sabo's hands in the end. He has the moral right to it. Bartho is just a sideshow and Diamante's downfall as a member of Dofla's crew is guaranteed.

I imagine Bartolomeo having the hardest time in this fight. He got fighting fish able to fly from anywhere and 2opponents to fight at the same time. And one of them can just brush his barrier aside. He better be able to do a great combo with Sabo if he wants to last.

I would put Vergo and then Trebol and then Diamante and then Peeka. Mainly because I believe that since Sugar is the heart of this toy turning operation he has to really trust him or believe in his strength and Vergo above him because I think that he had the closest relationship with Doffy and was his in man.

Frankly, I don't see it. A person who has trained to fight with sword her whole life and who refuses to hurt anyone (well, almost) to eat a fruit that is mostly ofensive in nature. That's a terrible waste.

After +700 chapters you should understand that getting beaten up and getting shot multiple times doesnt kill you. Ill patiently await the shitstorm that is about to enrise when Mr2, Vergo, Monet etc. return.
Actually Mr.2 still living could be explained. When Brannew was debriefing Sengoku he explained that the Warden was defeated, probably Blackbeards or level 6 prisoners doing, either way that probably saved Mr.2 from the Warden.

From a writers standpoint there is no point in Beccas charachter or her entering the tournament if ahe doesnt play a HUGE part in atleast taking down atleast diamante. Anyone else notice diamamte has the flag flag fruit, is the king of the colliseum, in a spanish themed arc….Torero!

I imagine Trebol is extremly competent. I just think he's more valuable for his defensive capabilities.
This is of course just my conjecture, but it seems reasonable since his whole job is guarding and safekeeping a fragile girl.
Offensively i can't see anyone overtaking Diamante, since he's both the head fighter, and the one taking on the world's best atm.

Doesn't mean anything, just because the fights are shown earlier doesn'tmean they are weaker. All speculation, not facts. They all hold the highest rank in the family so as of now they are of around the same strength.

Pica and Vergo both have other areas of expertise. You could argue that both of 'em are special OP's guys.
But both their roles require a certain amount of power, which is why i think they are more related to each other than Diamante.

we've got three people that it seems crucial to show off their skills, either because so much hype has been built up (Dimante, Sabo) or that showing them off will bring huge hype for future events (Obviously the more badass and amazing Burgess seems now the more we will wait with anticipation for his fight against one of the straw hats at the end of the series, along with seting a standard for what we should expect of other BB members… really crucial for building hype for future events) so I have no idea how he'll make all three seem amazing and manage to put in Bartolomeo and Rebecca
