How do you find out about one piece?
For me, I was surfing the manga shop one day and came across it.
Having interest in pirates, I bought the first volume of one piece and became a fan.
Recently, I just started to go into the anime.

Having interest in pirates, I bought the first volume of one piece and became a fan.
Recently, I just started to go into the anime.
I discovered when reading a Nintendo megazine, there was an article talking about.
16 characters of 4kids…
Come to think about it, I'm not entirely sure.
I remember seeing it on TV once, and since I live in Singapore, it was not the 4Kids dub. It was the Odex dub, and Luffy was talking to Coby. I don't remember anything else, but I did see someone reading a chinese volume.
After that, after I got into manga more, I'm not sure how I picked up One Piece, but it eventually got more interesting.
I have no idea how I discovered Arlong Park Forums, now that I think about it. Damn my memory sucks. Who knows where surfing the net takes you?
I watched the 4kids dub as bad as that dub was I still enjoyed the show. I loved the concept of devil fruits.
I played a social/roleplaying 16-bit mmo that allowed you to create your own "worlds" that people could come in and hang out in, you'd be able to basically reskin every thing. I created a Kingdom Hearts world from Chains of Memories on the GBA and it did good, but I eventually decided to share the files with a friend in the game so we could collab on making it better; he instead jacked it and (due to him being more famous in the game) I was cut out. I basically just started looking for other isometric GBA games in order to make a new world, I didn't care what it was. I happen to see an episode of the 4kids dub of One Piece one saturday morning and figured "Oh hey, this is different" and I looked it up and turns out it had JUST gotten an isometric game on the GBA just a couple months before (One Piece: Dragon Dream).
So I created the world, knowing nothing about the series, and then I joined this very forum in August 2005 to promote it, figuring the best place to advertise a virtual hangout of the series. Needless to say just being involved in making that world and being part of this forum I eventually started watching the Kaizoku Fansubs a mere few months later, and the rest is history. I gotta thank the community here for that because you guys busted my balls because I was all "The 4kids dub seems pretty cool." until I finally gave in.
It's a long story, but about a decade after hearing the name of the series on a commercial for an anime merch shop called Hammergirl Anime, and watching Rhythm Heaven/One Piece parodies on YouTube the week before getting into the series, I finally decided to look it up. The precise day, or more like night, I did so was May 26, 2012, around 11:10 PM. That's as far as I'm gonna go with this, since I don't really feel like typing an essay right now, but after that day, I was hooked.
In 2003 near the start of the Shonen Jump USA serialization, this was shortly after VIZ stopped releasing the Dragon Ball series in comic format, hard to believe that they were still publishing manga in the American format, equally as strange that they decided to adopt to the Japanese comic format. If it wasn't for Yu-Gi-Oh and Dragon Ball's huge fan following at the time, Shonen Jump USA may never have exisisted and One Piece's presence may never have truly felt!
Sometime after, THIS, seemed like the most promising thing for One Piece:
i was watching it back in 2002 on TV.the greek dub was until episode 105,then it was cancelled because of violence.3 years ago i watched one piece because i was curious about the ending and since then im addicted
I usually like to read long manga series so when i searched for manga series which had many chapters i came across OP. So that is how i started liking it and came to know about it.
