Law's hax let him bind himself in regular chains. I'm talking about the chains on Smoker/Luffy/Robin which were clearly seastone as they were complaining about feeling drained.
Law didn't switch those with regular chains, immediately after he freed himself he just directly cut them.

So gear 4 has time limit?
It could be that gear 4 runs out, but because DD is wounder bad, luffy doesn't need gear 4 to finish him. His gear 3 attacks would work now since DD can't dodge anymore because bad wounds?
Still the fight won't last much from now on, since 20 more minutes later thing. I think DD said only after 30 minutes it starts killing people.

Now is the moment where Doflamingo goes rampage (he take off his feathers), and they need to use de Healing fruit and Law power GEAR 4+ Law power. It's a very typical manga moment.
Doflamingo taking off his feather coat to symbolize his "rampage" mode would be pretty cool. Personally, I would love to see some sort of "awakened" move where he uses his strings to pupeteer his body, which he is no longer able to move because of the damage he sustained from Law's Gamma Knife + Counter Shock & Luffy's Gear 4 attacks. Would make the guy even more creepy
And did Luffy use "Gear 4 Kane" to go through Doflamingo's "Pillow White" strings prior to the Leo Bazooka attack? Seems pretty hard to make out exactly what's going on in this panel.

On a side note, is it just me or was Dofla's "awakening" as useless as shit gets? Seriously, his earlier razor-wire moves were scary but all this "let me smash you with a bunch of big stringy tentacles" really amounted to nothing. At all. Makes the conclusion of the fight feel a bit hollow.
To me it kinda seems like he is just being arrogant, like look at me im so in tune with my DF that I've awakened the true potential of the DF's power. The most interesting part to me though this chapter was the way Doffy was talking about Luffy's abilities and how he knows Luffy is sacrificing alot to achieve these results, that part was very reminiscent to when Robb Lucci said the same and purposely so me thinks. I also think he might be suggesting Luffy could do the same too but probably not now after seeing Gear Fourths execution, hmph as if he knows a better way than Luffy (Although that was also said about Gear 2, he did eventually gain greater efficiency while still being incredibly effective) Doffy's knowledge on the DF's is the best we've seen from any character on screen thus far right?
Maybe im just looking in to things to much and this awakening nonsense is him talking out his ass and placing himself on such a high a pedestal in comparison to everyone else wIthout him actually knowing shit about these claims, in a way hope so with the lack luster reveal this chapter. Ohh and assuming the fight is truly over with the note at the end of the chapter i would have to probably beg Oda to please dont, please pleaseeee dont do me like that i want more of Doffy's insight on the devil fruits and more action from Luffy once Gear 4 fades to black. I would even settle for an email of all the juicy details about the inner workings of the devil fruits Oda has yet to reveal and thought up to this point in time, and a shitty drawing explaining how BB has two fruits.

This 'awakening' thing gives me hope.
When I first started reading One Piece (12 years ago), what I really liked about the fights was how varied everybody's power and fighting style was. That allowed things like Luffy x Enel to happen. But when this haki thing started, and everybody that has it can hit even Logias, I was like "oh, so now whoever has the strongest haki will win, regardless of devil fruit or fighting style. This is gonna be DBZ all over again, whoever has the higher power level wins, and that's it."
But now it seems that Devil Fruits won't lose their importance after all. Thanks Oda. I knew I could trust you. -

I'm talking about him having a fruit in the near vicinity of Doffy when he dies therefore the fruit becomes the new Ito Ito no mi.( Like in Smiley's case with the apple in the bag) In fact, I still think BB just bs'ed about some "absorption technique" and just had a fruit with him under that tarp with WB.

True. Maybe this is Doflamingo feeling worn out at last and starting to make mistakes. Maybe we're past the hype moment and this was only meant as an informative discussion (and an interesting one, I'll give you that. Now we can start speculating like crazy about what awakening does and who has or hasn't already awakened their DF
)On an unrelated side note, the Burgess reveal felt Meh since it doesn't come as a surprise and he ended far away from the action. Oda has definitely something planned with him (and Sabo, who was last seen on his way to the palace), but it's quite lackluster at the moment. Maybe the next time we see him will make this relevant, who knows.
