ok any one else notice the last 2 pages have Sabo (we all know it's Sabo no use denying it now) dressed up to fight as Lucy
and I'm Guessing Barty is going with him for the ride this is gonna be good Burgess has 2 maybe 3 people that are going to team up for the Mera Mera I say maybe 3 only cause they showed Rebecca during the Sabo meet up so a 3v1 action vs Burgess and Diamante gets thrown in there somewhere still trying to figure how Oda's gonna do this cause I'm almost stumped… I can see Diamante being tough but easily tricked or fooled he doesn't seem to be smart seeing how his Dofy handles him like hes a 9 yr old when he ordered him to fight in the arena and send everyone else to the factory or did I just read it wrong cause I'm sure he was condescending when he was on the Den Den Mushi during the whoop Law's ass chapter and also some where we lose Bellamy in this chapter and I predict he does something to turn the tides in the Burgess / Diamante fight -

Sabo has been with Dragon for who knows long, therefore he is most likely a Revolutionary Commander, so that definitely translates to his really strong power-level. I also want to know how he looks though, like a real ONE PIECE introduction with a full picture of the character and the side box saying the name and their title. Same with Kaido. Big Mom's was just a big shadow, ugh Oda, Stop teasing us. LOL

I don't see it explicitly stated in the chapter, but that could just be due to to the translation from japanese > chinese > english, since it's supposed to be a Japanese word game (according to redon). Perhaps it could be the order in which the steps were explained?

Good point. You could argue that Oda deliberately had her not listen to it, since otherwise you'd have to ask yourself why she didn't make a comment about her… But like this, it all works out.
On the same level of looking-ahead: I just realised that Oda basically DELIBERATELY had Kinemon give them all moustaches/beards, and Luffy don the warrior's armour, ONLY to have Sabo be able to pose as "Lucy" in the tournament now. What a magnificent genius he is!!!

Everything was perfect. Really. The cover story was kind of too long, but the ending was good.

Barto and Bellamy development was great. We saw a little of Barto's ethics - he does value fighting and friendship - and his interaction with Bellamy was gold. We saw that Barto's dream is to follow Luffy and Bellamy doesn't have a dream/reason to exist anymore. I don't think they will join the Strawhat crew. If I have to guess now I would say that Bellamy will join Barto's crew and they will sail under Luffy's command.

Great setup with the Toy Soldier and Franky, Robin and Usoland. They have a specific objective know - take down Sugar. They need to face Trebol and Lao G and Dillinger are going to the factory as well. Great build up!

Bart and Bellamy interaction with Luffy was great too and it was greatly interrupted. I must admit that I never cared much about Sabo. I never saw enough of him to care and he was always a "comeback" character to me - planted in Ace's flashback to someday make a great appearance. But I really liked the timing of his comeback. Right after Big Mom's surprise, with so much going on, with us believing that Barto was the one that was going after the Mera Mera - bam, Sabo appeared. I really liked the lack of drama in his appearance. Oda didn't use any manga cliche like he does with Law smirk-ass. It felt great. Koala was great too and it was great to see Rebecca with an ally (a woman that doesn't look like Nami!).

Just gonna repeat myself: Oda is a genius. Not only reintroducing Sabo here and now, which was totally unexpected, but having Kinemon give everyone beards and disguises as well as Luffy donning an armour to fight as "Lucy", all for the sole purpose of Sabo being able to take Luffy's place in the tournament. Bravo.

The way that Luffy was acting after the fact was kind of strange to me, yes he was crying but I would have expected more considering.
I guess that Oda's Enel callback and the scene with those wacky animal costumes was his way of making it feel right without having to make the characters emote "realistically".

Imagine Luffy going all out fighting Doffy wearing that fish costume. I think it would probably one of the best moments in this entire series.

I was wondering if he was the first in OP to make the face but thought Buggy may have done the jaw-drop back in East Blue (still have not re-read those chapter to find out or not) but with this line up I see more resemblances than the bugged-eyed, jaw-drop. Interesting (to me at least) that they are all looking in same direction :ninja:
