Good episode, some moments were handled nicely.
First time Shida didn't do an action scene, still, it looked awesome. Details were crazy. I guess the entrance was more important than some filler action if you think about it.
Since Toei's been having Shida do work everywhere you look recently I bet the non-action scene was them throwing him a bone. Still, episode looks great.

Pretty good episode. Weird that they used Shida for a non-action scene, but it was still a great way to end the episode.
Really enjoyed this episode. The interactions on the ship were handled quite well. The expanded Doflamingo vs. Smoker fight turned out much better than expected. Very clever but subtle ways of animating Doflamingo's abilities without completely revealing what his fruit is. And Smoker, although losing, stood up to him quite well until he had to shield his men. Made both Smoker and Doflamingo look awesome in different ways.
Was really surprised at just how bloody Smoker was at the end. The anime usually tones it down but they didn't disappoint this time around. Kuzan's entrance was just magical and gets the blood pumping!
The filler fight wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, and it was an interesting way to handle a scene that was off screen in the manga. And Shida's cut at the end was better than the manga in my opinion.
Man they just can't get doflamingo right, really awkward.
And the anime made it look like the soldiers shot eachother, which isn't what happened, doflamingo cut them up.

That ending was the corporeal manifestation of getting ready for sexy time, slipping into your kinky leather gimp suit, heading towards the bedroom and then accidentally blowing your load all over the cat that was passing by. Did they seriously need to throw away ALL the budget on Doflamingo moving his arm backwards for the last two minutes? Especially when the main fight between them, IN THE SAME EPISODE, was mediocre at best? These people's priorities are so weird and out of whack that it continues to astound me every time.
Whatever; it was an okay episode.

i liked the smoker vs doflamingo fight and kuzans entrance was fucking great now question for you guys do you think kuzans entrance would have had a bigger impact if oda hadnt shown him on his way to ph a few chapters beforehand(everybody who isnt retarded figured out it was kuzan by zooming in on the pannel)or would people have called an asspull if he appeared out of the blue all of the sudden to save the day

The worst episode.. WTF goes into their right minds to make such shit, I am really really Pissed off. I am a major Doflamingo fan so I've read chapter 698 which is this episodes chapter at least, at least 100 times.. This is no exaggeration. This is what was wrong with it;
1 - Doflamingos coat having a mind of it's own, it just moved like the cloak had it's own mind and moved in completely unnatural ways, I guess you could live with that IF the fight scenes were amazing.
2 - The Haoshoku Haki use, the way I imagined it was Doflamingo walking through the marines with his hands out like a boss. Here he just out his hands and stood still very distant from the screen, standing still, like honestly.. That was one of my favourite moments ever and it got ruined. The second part was where the marines were knocked out, he just stood still.. He should have been walking away. Please.. If you have 1 foot in front of the other in a Doflamingo walk it 100% implies he is walking.
3 - Holy shit.. This part was definitely ruined, Jesus Christ.. Don't want to ruin it for you Anime viewers but Doflamingo, visibly had string like stuff coming from his hands, he should have sliced the weapons and done a full flip and sliced everyone. What in the producers minds did they think that Doflamingo control their weapons, flip and make them shoot each other? That's absolutely disgraceful.. In my head I was like "what? took control of the weapons? Ok. When does he slice them?". It didn't happen, I was so disappointed.
4 - In the Manga When Smoker supposedly tried to attack Doflamingo he just tilted his head to his side and dodged smokers punch with pure brilliance, and then proceeded to exchange a few lines. This introduces the next bit.. Here they just made him look amateurish.
5 - As much as I enjoyed Doflamingo slicing up the Ice and stuff like that, what I didn't like was that they made smoker look like he had a chance against him, they made doflamingo look so amateurish, like as if he couldn't aim at smoker, like WTF? He actually one hit him on the spot in the Manga..
6 - The ending with Aokiji and Doflamingo. WTF was Doflamingo doing? Was he doing some form of Tech-Tonick? Wiggling his arm about, jeez you've just made the wiggles spark out again. Aokijis gave too, WTF is this, Vergo vs Smoker? Did Aokiji imbue his face with armament Haki like Vergo? He just looked black to me, he was also too distance in the episode. Bitch please, I've actually hand drawn that moment and it's 10 x better than what they did.
What a way to ruin my beautiful week, had my birthday with the most beautiful girl at the V8 Supercars Championship in Sydney. I only met the girl this week, was so happy looking forward to this episode because the preview looked so Amazing, now that I've watched it it's ruined my week so much, biggest waste of time instead of watching the cars on the track. Thank you for wasting quality time with my girl and 20 minutes of qualifying.

Despite the whiny complaints, this was a very good episode from a enjoyment standpoint. I'm truly pumped for next week.
I'm happy that Shida managed to do some work for an episode again. It's been a while since we've seen his directing. The last scene was awesome. Kuzan's entrance was soooo hype! Perfect music, perfect execution.
Smoker vs Doffy filler fight was pretty neat. They established that Doflamingo was vastly superior, while making Smoker not look like a pushover. I actually prefer this over him getting one-shotted in the manga.
Couldn't help but noticed that they changed some of the content when Doflamingo arrives (he makes G-5 shoot each other, instead of Doffy slicing them up). Not sure why that was changed. It seemed kind of unnecessary.
I digged the interactions with Caesar. lol Chopper telling Sanji not to injure him until his treatment is done cracked me up.

the pacing was really good this time around, and it flowed smoothly.

Not bad, yeah the surprise factor of Aokiji's appearance was no longer there since it was already cemented in my head, but it wasn't horrible.

It was ok with the extensions, but I have preferences. I've enjoyed every scene in the series with Doflamingo, every single scene whether it's sitting down drinking juice or fighting, they were perfect to me. This was shocking, should actually hear me out when I say this because this is the only scene I didn't like at all. Explain the not slicing the Marines, his cloak moving defying the laws of physics, hell.. Is this High school of the dead with tits that have their own mind?
Seriously. Coming from me, someone that's enjoyed every scene with Doflamingo thus far and now seeing this? I actually disliked parts of Doflamingo in this episode. So you should see it as I didn't like him here. Im obsessed with him yes, but this is hate towards Doflamingo in this one.
I hope to God they do a good Job for next weeks episode..

I know I can be nitpicky but did you see when Doflamingo was laughing but no voice was added to it? He was pretty quiet at the start.
the art on zoro and robin was so bad and the animation was just usual bad. the last 2 minutes was a great moment

There's a difference between critiquing the quality of the work and ranting about how his beloved character was somehow ruined by Toei. I think everyone here will agree that the animation for most of the episode was sloppy.
Second part of the episode was what I enjoyed - all the craziness aboard the ship was a breath of fresh air because of how it went along. Quick and chaotic, how it's supposed to feel. Also enjoyed having action scenes, though that detail jump for the last few moments was crazy noticable. Not gunna complain over having that scene being that way, but the fight could have had a little bit more attention than the intro.
Chopper tending to Caesar was oto adorable for words.

Doesn't matter who my favourite character is, it was ruined,,regardless of who did what. I liked the time on the boat, it was quite nice and I had no problems with hit. Geez, just because I have a favourite character, doesn't mean you should disregard the facts.

His English voice sounds wierd at first but you can get used to it. Personally in this episode I loved how he said "Do you want to die first?" To the marines. The way he said it was how a person talks to a baby IMO. LOL

First off, don't use the word troll, doesn't apply to what I'm saying. Explain why the next page has Doflamingo walking but in the Anime they didn't? I'm outraged enough it ruined my day, I'm going for now, watching something worthwhile.
